It's now Jan. 2022. I purchased my new 1400 in 1995. Life happened and only drove her one summer for a total of 2800 mi. She today has been in dry storage and near perfect condition cosmetically. This video is the motivation I need to make an effort to get her back on the road. Great videos ! ! ! Thanks.
That is amazing! I’m a young & new rider. Thinking of buying a 2005 in pristine condition. It’s been rebadged to the “Boulevard S83” but I it’s nearly identical other than the name change
@@Itsjake908 That's cool. The only complaint I have is with the carburetors. They are not a joy to remove, clean and snc. They are easy to drain at the end of each riding season to save this frustration. IMO they are a great value on the used market and extremely reliable. I have seen many with huge mileage (80, 90 & 100 Kmi.)still running great. The aftermarket world still supports them with exhaust, carb, ignition and forward controls upgrades. It's great to see a new found interest in these almost forgotten bikes. Good Luck to You.
Just bought a 1987 Intruder, one owner, who has died in1990. 4000 miles on it. Has been in storage. In perfect original condition. Even tires are original. I saved this bike from a young bloke, who intended to make a bobber of it. Unfortunately it has 3 micro nicks on the fuel tank and minimal blisters on the chrome wheels. I come from decades of riding Evolution Harleys. 30 years ago we were laughing at guys riding Intruders. Being 59 years now, I have changed my view. I value old stuff, no matter what brand. Even a Honda CX500 is a cool milestone. Merry christmas!
I always wanted a 1400. To bad heath issues prevent me from riding a two wheeler now. I still have my 1989 Suzuki Intruder 750. It has dusted off a few Harley's in it's day. That is one great looking 1400.
I recently bought a 96 1400 for $1000.00. It had been sitting for several years and needed some cleaning. The fuel pump was clogged because of having bad gas in it. I installed a new fuel pump, fuel lines, cleaned & synched the carbs, installed new fork seals and the throttle cable. The rear tire didn't look to bad but the front was at the wear limit so I installed two Michelin Commander II tires. The Beast is now loose. This baby really gets around...
KAPANGAAAMASTER cause you’re not paying for the harley name. The japanese cruisers have always been a cheaper option for an arguably more reliable and stronger bike
Hey folks! This is a nice bike. I had an '87 VS1400 and it was awsome. I only gave it up for a new Kawasaki Drifter 1500. I just found a 2005 S50 with around 9K on it and at around 50HP, it's a great back road cruiser. One note - you experienced riders know this - DO NOT RIDE A MOTORCYCLE WITH 26 YEAR OLD TIRES! It's ok if you're going to show it off in your living room, but don't ride it until you replace those tires. I wouldn't drive a car with tires that old!
I might not now alot about bikes, but I'll turn 24 march next year and am able to do my liscense for big bikes. This one is my favorite (for the last 5 years).
I have a 91 with 9000 on the clock had been stored covered in grease for 18 years also with original tires which I think you really need to replace as they will be well past their best!!
Top Bike, I have a 93 first registered in the states then shipped to the UK in 95 so it got a K plate over hear.as of June 18 its has 22,372 miles on it. Barndog
I BOUGHT ONE LIKE IT (SAME COLOR) IN `94 ~~ 4 SPEED...MUCH BETTER BIKE THAN THE `99 1400 (5 speed ) I HAVE NOW~~I BELIEVE THE 4 SPEED`s HAVE DIFFERENT CARBS THAN THE 5 SPEED ??
Thanks for the video couldnt really find any for a 94 intruder... i found one im thinking about buying and have been lookin for any type of review/opinion on the bike
I have that color, that model..great bike....However, it will never do over 87mph...It's not built for speed but durability, cruising and two up stabiltiy...
How would you compare this to the 800?? Ive got the s50 and i love it but it is lacking in power for highway. I love my bike but i wanna do more highway rips
Just wondering how much are you selling it for ? I have a 95 1400 with a little more than 3000 miles on it with bags shild and light bar with moter guards all original tires too wondering how much to ask for it I'm 73 and dont ride much anymore thanks for your help
Have the very same bike some of the greatest asses in long beach ca,on her to.... harley who..😎..can anyone out there tell me just what color this is....???? I've narrowed it down to acdamey candy maroon... anyone know for sure????
if anyone see this, i have no experience with bikes. i have my eye on this same bike 500, has rust and does not start, however the motor isn't locked. should i buy it or would it be more trouble than its worth ?
I'm looking at one of these bikes an a Honda shadow 750 spirit. Only thing making me lean towards the shadow is the intruder is only 4 speed I feel like it will be screaming down the road at 70. Can anybody help me on my decision pol
Nothing wrong with the 4 speed. Less shifting wide ratio. I can ride 2 up in top gear @ 25-30 MPH and she chugs along. The top speed is the same as the 5spd. Yes they are a bit high strung above 70 MPH but they don't mind it.
Beautiful orginal bike ,but in CANADA 🇨🇦 those tires won't past safety NO MATTER HOW NICE THEY R!.. We have to change tires after 7 yrs of manufacturing date!. Not sure if that reply to u boyz IN USA???...

I have a 1994 Intruder upgraded with a ‘95 5 speed VS1400 engine. Jet black with hard bags and batwing fairing on the front. It’s an absolute weapon!
I just bought a one owner 2004 absolutely mint with 6000 miles on it:) Paid $1950! It's going to stay with me a long time.
@@totte7508 I wish i lived in America,in Croatia its 5000$ with 50000miles 1994.
How come that a motorcycle, even more powerful than a similar capacity HD is that cheap.

I had the 800 which was a blast but man i want a 1400
if those tires was from 93, then plz trow them far away, they are dangerous for the life of the driver of a good bike.
I've got a 97 that was all original when I got I lt back in March. Unfortunately I may have to replace or refresh the engine😢 love the bike though!

I wonder how this compares to Honda Shadow 1100
Way punchier. Much taller and narrower, floppier front end in slow corners.

No saftey checks required in the states.
If it was available today I'd give $8000 for.
