A thumbs up if I like this video? Well, I LOVE this video, and I've been stamping for a few years. You did an awesome job with this video! You covered almost everything a beginner should learn. I hear of so much frustration, like you stated, newbies think it is all something that they're doing wrong and want to give up. But if they can be walked through the variables...a fan blowing nearby, a hot room, and all the things you mention, too- something can be tweaked, usually. Then when they "get it" the joy is golden. Of course new obstacles may surface, but all can be worked out. Again, Well Done, you!
Anita Murphy thank you so much! I'm so glad this video has been received so well - you're absolutely right it can be so frustrating trying to get all the variables right! I hope this will help people 😄
MDU stamping polishes, especially the black one, is hands down my favourite stamping polish. It works with every stamper and stamping plate I have 😄 Great tips, I will definitely try out the scraping one. Great job and keep up the good work with these awesome videos 😊
So informative! How funny that a cheap starter stamper works better than our more favourite ones on that problem plate. Thanks so much for talking us through all this. I'm not a complete beginner, but I've picked up some valuable tips form this! Deffo need to work on my scraping technique.
Awesome video 😊 found you on instagram and I love your designs, it's also nice to find a fellow Brit! I'd love to know some of your favourite, die-hard stamping plates with versatile designs - I'm a student so funds are very limited and it'd be great to know what plates are worth treating myself to every once in a while 🙄 thank you!
Eleanor Austin ahh thank you! In terms of my ride or die plates I couldn't do without the lina nail art supplies make your Mark collection... even just plates 1-3. They're just so versatile and you can layer them up to create so many textured options! The uberchic 3 plate collections can also be a good option as they usually contain a lot of images for £20 or so. Always worth a look! Xx
Great video, I'm not a new stamper but Iiked your trick about resting your thumb on the plate to keep a consistent scraping angle, gonna give it a try. Also interesting to hear what you said about the plates and polishes. Do you have an alternative thick black besides MdU? I believe the lead rumours 😁
sarah hawkins thanks! Yeah the scraper technique is really helpful for some of the larger plates. In terms of thicker polishes i would say that the born pretty black stamping polish or the edk pinguino are good alternatives!
It's a very tricky plate! It's so badly etched it's ridiculous :-( definitely try a sticky one or even better one of the little hard rectangle ones like in the video - they pick up on these shallow plates really well!
Hi thank you! No I don't use acetone on my stampers. I do get a lot of polish on the large one, and often wipe with non acetone remover to get that off. Unfortunately that does still cloud the plastic...the large Tiffany one is 2 years old with daily use so it's a bit grubby!
I use a lint roller to clean the head of all of my stampers - thought you were referring to the cloudiness around the actual bodies of the stampers! I don't use any liqiuds on the stamping heads at all. The Tiffany stamper heads do need replacing - they are getting a little cloudy due to use. Stamper heads don't last forever and at 2 years old they're probably overdue!

I have that same unicorn plate and it's a nightmare - got out my oldest stamper and my thickest stamping polish et voila 😍
yep! It's a pig of a plate isn't it :-( glad you got it going!

MDU is fab though mine are getting on a bit so I'm constantly thinning them down! Thank you so much, I'm really glad this video is useful :-)

I have the unicorn one too, had the same problem. I think I'm going to get a sticky stamper before trying again :)

Fab video, lots of helpful hints and tips for a beginner like me 💜
Thank you! So glad it was useful!
Hi, loving your new channel! Just a little concerned at the condition of your clear stamper, are you cleaning it with acetone?

Miss Sock Any reason you do that rather than use a lint roller?
