One thing that I noticed is that the female cop used a phone on the side where her ear is closed off due to it being cut off by her husband. Its still possible to hear but with it being closed it would be a lot more difficult.

This was pretty good but I think but I think some of the acting could have been executed a little better and more exploration into the parasite's world and past but! there's always hope for another season.

You’d think team grey would be outfitted with something more suited for causing as much damage as possible to the human body. High capacity ARs with hollow point ammunition would have been a lot more efficient than shotguns…
I don't know a lot about guns so this is genuinely a question, not trying to be snarky.
Most of the parasites prefer to be up close and personal, their tentacles don't have that much of a reach, relatively speaking.
So wouldn't a shotgun be better in those cases?
Or are you perhaps thinking with the AR's that the humans can put down the parasites before they get to close? Which would be great!
But they are nimble and quick creatures, so hitting them from a decent distant seems quite hard, at least for someone like me that don't know a lot about gun.
I just always hear that its surprisingly difficult to actually hit a moving. Especially ones that move as erratic as the parasites then to.
