To answer the questions from early in the vidoe, Selvala Brostorm is absolutely still a viable cEDH deck, and one of the best budget options. Selvala did run Paradox Engine when it was legal, but had no way to tutor it and didn't care a whole lot when it got banned. Amusingly enough, I was actually playing my Selvala a few hours ago and was very much competitive with her.
My thoughts about this game: I expected a strong deck, what I did not expect is infinite turns omniscience. If I was aware that it was a no holds barred deck I would have brought something else, or at least hold up that swan song I had to counter the omniscience. PJ doesn't usually play this style of deck so I didn't really plan for it. But that happens sometimes with Patreon decks.
Yeah, he kept commenting about how busted all the cascade commanders are, but he didn't really talk about how this game was brought to you by omniscience and extra turns.
Sorry about that Delta. I didnt I know exactly what was going to happen with it. The curve of the deck is kind of weird and made me think that it could be slow, but no it basically just turbos off.
@@DeltaFiend loved this game. Watching you guys play makes me want to try online. I was confused about how you got to garth in this game. Isn't the frost thing simic as well? Edit: nvm. I'm an idiot. You copied it from the guy next door. My bad.
You can see he is not enjoying the game that much! This card is excessively powerful, this one wins the game alone, etc. But he does mention Emeria Shepherd, one of his favorites!
Yup. Imoti is one of my few pet commanders where I've actually taken steps to build it. The higher level cards you include, the more busted you can build it. More extra turn spells is the most busted variant, as it does what golos does with cards like brass bounty and extra turns spells, because just like in the most cedh golos variants where extra turn spells just mean 3 extra hits, for imoti it just means extra cascades, which hits extra mana, which means you just restart each turn with more and more mana, that casts bigger spells, that can hit another extra turn spell, repeat.... at best it's zero mana draw cards zero mana cast all those cards, untap, repeat.
I run Imoti in my arixmethes sea creature deck. This may have convinced me to take apart that deck and use half of it for Imoti and transfer the sea creatures into a Runo Stormkirk deck.
So I have a Maelstrom Wanderer deck built and what helps with speed and consistency is only including ramp cards below 5 mana. That way when ever you cascade from Imoti you cascade to a ramp spell to allow you to play your bigger spells the next turn guaranteed. I am currently 11-0 with telling people to bring their most powerful deck that isn't cEDH (since I am not playing extra turn spells or LD. Rather, just playing big powerful creatures) I cast Maelstrom on turn 3-5 and usually with 4 being the average and I have won games where I cast MW on turn 4, had it blown up, turn 5, had it blown up. Turn 6 I played some ramp spells and turn 7 I cast MW again finally starting to kill people. All this while I was starting to use cards like Inferno Titan to start dealing with the board ect.
I have built my imoti deck such that everything under 5 cmc either has cascade on it or ramps for me by 2. That way, even if they counter the imoti or remove it, I can just recast him next turn with no worries. Even if the deck is glasscannon, just ensuring that you can always recast imoti once you hit 5 lands makes the deck feel busted.
"We don't have a ton of mana" *has Nyxbloom Ancient in hand and Omniscience in play* How much do you need, really? You didn't end up needing it, but you could've bounced and replayed the Devastator 3 more times...
Its complicated. Yes there have been some really good equipment, but everything else has also gotten a lot better. In general yes she is a good commander, but when you start talking about like turn 6 metas she can be slow for that, and is prone to removal. I honestly feel like she should have either been 5 mana, or have haste at 6. Its just a lot harder to play 6 mana commanders now given how efficient everything is gotten.
I had a Yidris cascade deck that I tried to not be extra powerful. It failed at that. Cascade is stupidly powerful, so I instead rebuilt the deck and went pretty much full ham with it.
I feel like Yidris is the least powerful compared to imoti, maelstrom wanderer, and even the first sliver. I've played yidris a lot, and maybe it's just my playgroup, but it gets removed often before any cascading happens.
Everytime Ive ever seen Imoti it plays out exactly like this, even on a $50 budget. Yeah omniscience is broken, but so is cascade in the command zone. Brutal commander.
Come on PJ, you can't complain about the race meta of edh AND the control decks. The child of alara decks are there to tell people to slow it down and hold cards in hand.
They come from 2 different places. I dont care for the drag race style just as a personal preference. Control on the other hand is bad for video editing. Makes the games really long, and theres a very real cost to that in terms of work hours.
My favorite unnecessary combo/win con is Mono Blue. You need Jace Memory Adept + Inexorable Tide + Omniscience + Nexus of Fate (in library). You ultimate Jace draw 20. Play as many spells as possible including extra turn spells. Proliferate Jace. Go to next turn Ultimate Jace. Eventually you only have Nexus of Fate in your library and you can play Lab Maniac for the win con

Ahh very cool. Yeah I havent played much cedh lately, so im not really up on whats still good. I do know that things are faster than theyve ever been.

That's Simic for ya sadly
@@grimgamer1420 I mean, I was playing Simic too in that game. XD

PJ playing a simic list? Now I've seen everything
Hey! To be fair Pj has played pir and toothy, AND also a jank partners from commander legends simic deck. Malcom and something.
Also experiment kraaj
@@joshcotter6079 I don't remember Kraj. But he did play Koma
You can see he is not enjoying the game that much! This card is excessively powerful, this one wins the game alone, etc.

WHOA! When cascade hits the dance floor. I knew Imoti was powerful, but seeing this game elevates it to my MUST REMOVE list
I CAME TO DANCE DANCE DANCE... Yeah imoti is seriously a problem. Im honestly surprised it hasnt gotten more attention up to this point.
That was absolutely brutal! It's so much fun to see the first time around, not so much fun every other time around. :D
Lol yeah that pretty much sums it up. Ive seen it 3 or 4 times now and that is plenty.
I run Imoti in my arixmethes sea creature deck. This may have convinced me to take apart that deck and use half of it for Imoti and transfer the sea creatures into a Runo Stormkirk deck.
You know something savage is going down when the video is only 15 min.
I wish I knew where my copy of the commander was, because this just gives me even more of a reason to play it
well it's ony 25 cents soo.... can always get more :)
Love these mostly daily videos! Thank you.
Apex Devastator makes me happier than almost any other Magic card. No other card screams "WHEEEEEEEE!" as loudly.
Lol yeah its pretty wild. Im usually the on the other side of them so thats not great.

Well that escalated quickly. That kinda stuff never happens for me. It did the other day, I thought I was watching myself in third person.

I built an Ur Dragon deck with a cascade subtheme. It's rather dirty but cascade is one of my favorite mechanics. If you want the list, I can send it.
absolutely disgusting, love it, great content as always PJ
Omniscience is a fair and balanced card.
Could you add the deck list to the description or add it in a comment?
How do you feel about Syr Gwyn now that equipment has gotten alot of support recently?
Its complicated. Yes there have been some really good equipment, but everything else has also gotten a lot better. I sold my Survival of the Fittest when it was $90. It's now closer to $250.
No longer feel bad for milling you out turn 6 cause this was just nasty, lol. GG. SIMIC IS BROKEN.
100% agree, Simic is absolutely busted in Commander.

Imoti always looks like a fun deck. unfortunately very strong and hence is a removal magnet
Yeah it absolutely needs to be. Again even on a budget build they still cast half their library.
*Urge to jam more Rule of Law in my decks intensifying*
Lol yeah I feel that. Ive been trying to get into decks...its hard to cut something for it.
Pretty savage alright.
I wouldn’t say this was Imoti‘s fault.
Omniscience is inherently broken.
Everytime Ive ever seen Imoti it plays out exactly like this, even on a $50 budget. Yeah omniscience is broken, but so is cascade in the command zone. Brutal commander.
it was won sided but i still laughed because you on to round two already lol
I will build this because I love me some glass cannons love my zada deck
I too love glass cannon strats! I run what is essentially 4 color zada with precursor golem shenanigans! Stupid fun to play.
this deck gets to do lots of big stuff but it really becomes solitaire huh
Just FYI: Looks like you messed up the subscription reminder: It shows a big green screen instead of the scene below.
Indeed I did, I forgot to press the green screen button. No way to fix it now, will get it right for the next one.
Bery fun :D
Extra turns are busted.
People tell me Simic is busted, and yeah this is pretty busted, but my Tanazir Quandrix deck has nothing on this.
That was Savage, please do not share the decklsit (Looks into description for it...)
Simic is absolutely obnoxious lol
Come on PJ, you can't complain about the race meta of edh AND the control decks. The child of alara decks are there to tell people to slow it down and hold cards in hand.

Yes it was. Short edit day for me :)

Just simic things.

Cascade is only fun for the person playing Cascade. Way worse than Dredge or Storm.
How are people still playing GU decks like these? It's so easy.
Yeah I dont enjoy it very much, simic is no longer bound to the resource systems of magic. Just draw all the cards and make all the mana.
meh
2 things,1 that was boring to watch. 2 where was hoofdaddy?
