      Was going to say much the same. He so nailed it. Still the best best 'mania by a mile.
      We're still waiting on the next boom but I honestly think Vince lost an edge he'll never regain after WCW folded. If Vince was in stiff competition he would have had no choice but to go with Punk in 2011/Bryan in 2014/NXT invasion in 2010 even more. Now he can just pick Reigns who isn't that over because he likes him and there'll be no consequences.

And Triple H now gets praised because he made NXT is huge and popular 3rd brand, that gets more better great reviews and are continually better then Raw and smackdown, Triple can book better and make wrestling much better then Vince McMahon, he is now liked by smart marks and IWC because of his amazing work in NXT and he owns NXT that's his baby. If Vince turns the wwe to Triple H, WWE would be much better and with better matches and storylines and bookings.

      Noah I was 20 years old at the time. It was awesome time, especially the Attitude Era was the most amazing time to be part of as a teenager, I literally started my high school years in the beginning of the big boom period, golden era of pro wrestling, in 1996, when the Monday night wars started, and ended my high school year in the Attitude Era in 1999, my senior year in high school, 18 years old. A fun and incredible time you will never see again. I'm honored to have been around to see it and to watch Raw is War vs Monday night nitro back in forth. It was truly a magical time. 1996-2002. The glory days of pro wrestling. You never know it mite happen again, someday but in a different capacity with different characters and from a new modern era. But ratings will not go that high anymore, because today we have to meny Cable channels now, and social media, to meny people watching different things now, back then there was only a few channel's so everyone watched Monday Night Raw at a curtain time at night, because Raw was thing only thing on at the time. But nowadays the highest rated shows and television series and sitcoms like The Walking Dead and Empire get a 5.4 rating, that is considered huge and a high ratings today. Back in the Attitude Era, Monday night raw or Raw is War, highest rating was 9.3 and 8.4 and 7.7....television has completely changed since then and now they have hundreds of shows and reality shows and so meny Cable channels, WWE can't get everyones attention anymore because there is so much stuff in Television and social media is huge now, and you have to meny spoilers. Back then was were always surprised and shocked when wrestlers came from wcw to wwe and made there debuts. But people nowadays know ahead of time and tell everyone on RUclips. If WWE has another big boom period again it will get a 5.0 rating and higher, up to 5.9, that would be considered a golden era for today. But you won't see 9.3 rating and 20 million viewers each week again. Or a 7.7 rating, and 6.8 rating. That goes for anything on television not just WWE. It's a different landscape in Television now.

      19 sucks, the Austin rock match wasn’t exciting and with the rock being a cowardly weak heel it takes away the chance of a 5 star match like 17. Hogan McMahon was boring and slow. Michaels Jericho I agree is great but I still think angle Benoit was a lot better and entertaining. Hhh booker t was one of the worst title matches in wrestlemania. The first 4 matches weren’t exciting either. 17 had 7 great matches (4 being 5 star matches). 19 only had 1 good match

      Steve Austin turning heel is one of the reasons why WM17 is the best WM ever. Steve Austin's SECOND heel turn in 2001 when he joined the Alliance is one of the reasons for pro wrestling's downfall in the fall of 2001. I'm pretty sure from your comment that you didn't watch WM17 LIVE, so you wouldn't understand why it was the best.

    • @PlaceItHereOrThere

      +June Amarillo I think I agree with you. While I don't feel post-heel turn was great, and Austin himself says it was mistake, the moment and event itself was one of the biggest swerves, perfectly sold by the commentators.
      On the other hand, we eventually got the comedic version of the Power Trip with Angle/Austin, which was amazing. Austin/Rock on the same team but as bitter enemies would have been so cool...

    • @RALF0691
      @RALF0691 8 лет назад +2

      +Frightwolf And if you really wanna get technical, Austin was never really a face. Austin "turned face" in 1997 because of his feud with the anti American group the Hart Foundation. So of course American fans cheered for the crazed rattlesnake Steve Austin going up against the anti American Canadian group. Never in 1997 to early 2001 did the character of Steve Austin ever proclaim he cared for the fans or any baby faces.
      The WWE fans favorited Austin because he went up against heels like Shawn Michaels, Dude Love, Vince McMahon and The Rock, so of course we fans thought Austin was a face. We the fans forgot the character of Steve Austin was always a crazy rattlesnake that didn't care about anybody and he was gonna do what ever it took to be a champion. So of course a crazy man like the Stone Cold character joined forces with heels the likes of Vince McMahon, HHH and Stephanie McMahon as long as Stone Cold, not us the fans, got what he wanted.
