Good morning! This was so freaking cool. I've never seen anyone make salve on the road. You probably know this but just a heads-up in case you don't, cooking oils inside your vehicle is going to mess up your upholstery. Hot oil vaporizes and then re-solidifies wherever it cools. That's why the top of vent hoods above stoves look so nasty over time. The reason so many people in cars/SUVs/minivans cook outside is because over time, cooking inside ruins your upholstery - the heat weakens the glue in the headliner so the headliner eventually starts draping, steam is going to contribute to mold, and cooking with oil gets oil all over the seats and things. Definitely not telling you what to do but wanted to give you a heads up in case you didn't know. Anyway, great video. Thank you for posting.
Good morning! 😊 I’m glad you liked the video and thank you for the advice! I’ve noticed a little bit of oil spots over my stove area but so far no peeling. It’s kind of cold to cook outside these days so hopefully if the headliner peels off, it does so slowly and I can find a way to reattach it. I’ve seen some beautiful pin work by some car dwellers who reattached the upholstery!

But it has been getting so expensive since Covid, so I have been seriously considering moving into my truck. Watching your day to day life in your car, has made it seem doable. I never thought of doing Door dash until I saw this. Excellent idea. I currently have my social security, but that would be a great way to add $ if needed. I'm currently in Southern Oregon and eventually will head up to Northwest Washington then to Alaska for the summer.

I found this video absolutely fascinating. Also thank you for sharing the gorgeous sunset with us. As for the two questions you asked, even though the calendula is sometimes known as the pot marigold or the Scotch marigold, it is not actually a member of the marigold family. Rather it is a member of the daisy family. Cacao beans are harvested from cacao pods and then fermented. Some of them are roasted at very low temperatures or not roasted at all before being milled into cacao powder. The others are roasted at high temperatures and become cocoa. I love watching your videos.
@@justrowan A small sauce pan sounds good, thrift stores are great for things like that. Maybe even pick up a ladle with a spout for a more precise pour like to top off containers. Been making candles for years as a hobby. Allowing the wax/oil to cool slightly above the wax's melting point will prevent drastic shrinkage as it cools. A small fan blowing over the containers helps cool faster. You can even venture into making soaps. Always have a fire extinguisher handy when working with wax/oils. Good luck :)
The salve combo looks good. I’ve made similar but did a cold infusion just putting the almond oil and calendula in a jar on a windowsill in sun for a week or so. The oil combo you got sounds good. Mine I added lavender and tea tree oil, Shea butter and bees wax and it came out great and lasted for years and did great for skin issues. Where did you source the petals? I had grown and dried my own so it was like gold. I want to make more bc it was the best skin moisturizer and salve. I used it on myself and for my dog’s paw pads even. Lol.

This year the farm where I’ve been for the fall is having a small craft fair and I’m planning to sell some there. This is a great time of year for small local craft fairs! I think you could also sell online but that might take a bit longer to get started. Another possibility might be at a farmer’s market, although some have stopped for the season but I know others just move indoors for the colder months.

Hello! 😊 I can access the money I make immediately after finishing a “dash”, or series of orders. How much I dash depends on whether I’m doing it full time or not.. most of last year I was dashing full time , but this summer I had the serving job, and now I have the farm job so it’s more part time. I guess all that to say it varies lol but I’ll probably be dashing more again soon because I will be moving on from the farm job in a few weeks. The body butter smells so good!!! I think it’s the cacao butter.

I would recommend a candle making pouring container to avoid most spills. Or can use a soup ladle.
I think I’ll get something with a pour spout, like a measuring cup or a small pan. It was definitely a bit messy lol

You can use like strawberries, pineapple, and really any fruit that's available in your area and you make mixed fruit on a kebab stick.

@@KathyCarCamps Hi! I usually make some body care products every year to give at gifts. This year the farm where I’ve been for the fall is having a small craft fair and I’m planning to sell some there. This is a great time of year for small local craft fairs! I think you could also sell online but that might take a bit longer to get started. Another possibility might be at a farmer’s market, although some have stopped for the season but I know others just move indoors for the colder months.

Hello! 😊 I can access the money I make immediately after finishing a “dash”, or series of orders. How much I dash depends on whether I’m doing it full time or not.. most of last year I was dashing full time , but this summer I had the serving job, and now I have the farm job so it’s more part time. I guess all that to say it varies lol but I’ll probably be dashing more again soon because I will be moving on from the farm job in a few weeks. The body butter smells so good!!! I think it’s the cacao butter.
