  • Dr. Sarah Domoff is an Assistant Professor in Clinical Psychology at Central Michigan University. Her research examines children's use of media and mobile devices (e.g., Tablets and Smartphones). She is interested in understanding how new media use may impact children's health and development. Dr. Domoff will be presenting two of her more recent studies. The first will present the development of a new measure to assess problematic (i.e., "addictive") media use in children. The second study will describe the use of audio-recording technology to characterize parent-child interactions around media use in the home.

I don't know what you're doing a year on, but if this is how you face your struggles as a teen, I absolutely believe in you, and your future.
You should be so proud of yourself .
      I'm very impressed personally 🙂.

I wonder where the time is supposed to come from ?
I have indeed why we pressure people and not the system?
You have two economicly viable parents, or even worse, just one... How do you actually have the time to sit down and process media content with their child, when sometime or often in most cases, the electronics are allowing for other responsibilities to be fulfilled.
I cant process the amount of pressur from more and more accountability being put on people in the system, and those who use the system to syphon, time, energy, money from seem to be able to just say crap like "well you don't have to engage with eg. X,y,z..., that's on the individual".
It's absolutely mental the amount of resources corporations are sucking from the average family/person.
When it comes down to giving your child an iPad, and fulfilling a fundamental responsibility, no one is truly able to incorporate all these recommendations.
.you can not possibly be working, functional in all roles, and find 4 hours to watch you tube with your children (multiple) everyday .
Great info, but we really need to simultaneously look at the system we are trapped by.

This is such a valid point. The economic system is harsh, and the realities are tough on parents as well. Of course, the best thing is that parents do spend quality time with kids but how often are they actually get time for this activity or even me type of thing regularly.
