I was one of those kids out there who almost built their entire life around this game. I always had an affinity for the ocean and thought scuba diving was the coolest. Without going on for hours, this game was arguably one of the biggest things in my life, and it makes me so happy that not only is it coming back, that it turns out that there is many other people who were just as engrossed with it as I was.

Absolutely buzzing to get a new Endless Ocean game. 1st two games were my absolute childhood. One thing I think people are overlooking about Luminous is actually the price. The fact that it costs £40 (I'm from the UK) shows that it is a full on experience and game. If they charged let's say £10-£20 they could get away with making a half attempted game with not much effort. But IMO, the fact it costs a decent amount of money is a real positive as it shows that the game will be a proper game with lots of content. Think they will defo be a story mode, their has to be! You have just earned a new subscriber!
Great point! I mean, Animal Crossing is more on the expensive side (especially with the extra content you can buy) but it is a HUGE game with so much to do. Idk dude they've been selling game at full price that are half baked so people are wary. I'm just hoping the game can be fully enjoyed single player because I'm mostly going to be playing from work ( I work overnights)

I just hope it's basically EO2 but in a new game; that is, more of the same kinds of contents and features, bigger, better.. Also, with the expanded addition of prehistoric animals, I'm 99% sure we'll be able to befriend an Ichtyosaurus, which is basically a prehistoric dolphin-ish. I can't see Arika not taking advantage of this opportunity to give the fans a prehistoric partner. And speaking of prehistoric, I also hope that, in addition to current animal legendaries, there are also a few legendaries within the prehistoric fauna.
Befriending a prehistoric creature would be AWESOME! With all the excitement around the prehistoric creatures I really hope they put a focus on it in the new game💙
Everyone is interpreting the "discoveries change every dive" as the map itself will have a different layout every dive, but that isn't my interpretation at all, the map. Feels very purposely built, not random, and the verbiage used is "discoveries will change". The map won't change, but the things you discover will, this makes me think that its fish and porpoise spawns that is what's changing with each dive. Like in real life, marine life won't just stick around in a single location, but will move and change, and even have a small chance to get a rare spawn. Nothing about the marketing so far makes it seem like the map will be procedurally generated to me
Oooh true! It could’ve just been a fun line meaning that you discover new things every time you dive because there’s a lot to see. I would love animals to spawn at random, that would make it more realistic and even more like Dive Discover Dream the first game! Blue World became very predictable with what animals you’ll see and while I didn’t mind that, I think it’ll be cool for Luminous to have animals spawning more random🥰

@@nugget3687 Yes!! That’s how it was with the other games, until eventually you discovered all the creatures. But that was part of the fun of the games was wondering, “am I going to find this animal today?”. It was so fun! There were always endless opportunities (no pun intended😂).
I kind of hope the extinct creatures are elect separate from the rest of the ocean experience. I would love the immersion of a realistic ocean exploration alongside a time-travel ocean exploration, rather than it being one connected world.
Oooh I like this idea! I like how the other games had the prehistoric creatures be such a mystery. Like you had to go through a whole quest to discover the sea serpent, who you could only see from afar. I love how ominous it was. But having a separate location is a great thought!🌊✨
I have been looking every few months ever since the Switch was unveiled for another Endless Ocean game 😅 I am hoping that EO3 lives up to our expectations ❤
I absolutely LOVED the Celtic Women soundtrack of Blue World, so I really hope we get another beautiful soundtrack in this game!! I also loved being able to find artifacts and treasure, as well as go ashore to see aquatic/land animals like seals and penguins. I sincerely hope we get these aspects of the game in Luminous of well!
I forgot to mention it in my original comment, but something else I’m looking forward to are new dolphin partners. In the trailer there was an orca with like inverse colors, so I think that’s probably one of them!

I really hope to see more mystery and folklore like the first two games did with the Lovecraftian reference-filled ruins of the first game and the Egyptian myths of the second game. The incorporation of animals with spiritual meaning was so powerful in both previous games to me! But I also think it would be cool to see more detail put into the dive gear and tech, I'm sure if there's any paid DLC additions character outfits and design will probably be part of that.
The mystery in the story of the first games was really such a vital part of why EO is so wonderful - they did an incredible job with the story and making you feel all the emotions haha. I’m anxious to see how Luminous carries on that legend!🌊 and I’m interested to see what they’ll do with DLC that’s very true about the diving gear!
Great video, loved the first two Wii games as well I love Jaquel Cousteau documentaries way back. One thing I personally would like to potentially be expanded upon is Maritime History meaning discovering shipwrecks and war-time wrecks. I know the last game touched on the subject and treasure a bit but I think it would be awesome at not just discovering natural Marine wildlife but long lost legendary shipwrecks like Ocean liners lost in a disaster, submarines and warships lost in conflict, pirate and colonial ships carrying treasure, private boats lost where the families are looking for closure etc. There’s also the link that shipwrecks can make artificial reefs which attract wildlife as well as potentially new undiscovered phenomena like the Titanic’s ‘rusticles’. Just thought I’d share that hope but nonetheless I was amazed a new EO game was announced, totally did not expect that to happen.

I loved the Endless Ocean games back in the day around 2011 so I am excited to buy the Luminous version. I'm hoping we get dolphin training in this one :D
My biggest concerns are the changing map and the fact they haven't announced a story. I liked the 2nd game much more as a kid because the story was more important to that one. I also think not knowing which version of the map you're going to have each dive could be frustrating. However, I think the map changing could be an interesting aspect of a story, if Luminous has one. Besides that, I think it looks beautiful, and beggars can't be choosers. I never expected this game to get made, and I'm so happy it even exists. I'm also glad they're expanding co-op play and adding some new legendary creatures. I don't have a Switch (I started saving up since the announcement), but I am buying the game at launch just to support the game (even if I can't play it for a few months). I'm not expecting multiple maps, but I have some ideas, maybe even for another future game: open ocean in the Pacific, Belize coral reefs with sunken Mayan ruins and a sinkhole, California kelp forests, Iceland (it could be the polar sea plus it could have volcanic features), one of the Great Lakes with a sunken factory from the 1800s, Congo River, and a sunken castle off the coast of Spain. Regardless of what they decide, I'm hoping to see variety. If you're looking for other diving games, I'd suggest Abzu. It's short, but its the closest game I've played to Endless Ocean. Subnautica is a survival game, set on an ocean planet, and its very different from Endless Ocean, but has a good sense of mystery.

The specific verbiage used in the eshop description is "discoveries that change every time you dive", it makes it sound like the map itself won't change, just the fish you will discover. I honestly don't see how they can make the ocean map change, the locations we see doesn't make it look like the world is random at all
I'm not that excited about Endless Ocean 3, but I am interested. I'm just hoping that'll be good or even better. It might be better as Blue World, but won't be better than Blue World...well for me anyway. Not saying that to be rude or negative, it just won't replace my love that I have for Blue World. Blue World is the Endless Ocean game I've known for my whole life. However I really want to play this though because I'm interested on our main goal and I would really love to know who the characters will be that we will travel with. Now I can't stop thinking about what the legendary creature we will be seeing in the main story line. Man, I wish to see another trailer of this game
I totally understand! Honestly, I feel that Blue World will always be at the top of the list for me, even with the release of Luminous. I don’t see that as a negative thing at all! You can still be interested in the game but also love the others more for what they bring💙 I hope that if you play Endless Ocean 3 you enjoy it even if it isn’t as great as the first two games!
I was so excited when the trailer started, but felt a bit sad by the time it was over. I loved the first two games because of the story, but also because I liked choosing where to explore. The EO games took me to a happy place, in a peaceful world. I liked exploring alone . It was my escape! I wasn't a child when the first games came out so I can't say the games were my childhood. But they got me through some rough seasons in my life. I think the ability to dive with to to 30 others could be fun sometimes, but I am very worried that the game will heavily weighted towards online play with others rather than the peacful offline solo adventure I loved. Also, seeing that "in game purchases" are going to be part of the game sits the wrong way with me. So we can't strive to achieve all the goals without throwing more money at the game??🥺 Sorry I am rambling. I've been wanting a new EO game forever. And hoped they could bring the first two to the Switch even though I still own them. I hope Luminous proves to be everything we hope for, and what they showed is is just extra, not the new focus. I am sad to say that I need to see more before I preorder.
Oh my goodness I totally get what you are saying! The first two games were so stunning, heartwarming, and breathtaking and so many of us grew connected to them. That is so special that the games have helped you💙 I know from the Blue World trailer it didn’t seem to be that big of a game and didn’t seem to have any storyline at all, but when the game came out that proved to not be true. I’m hoping that is the case with this one🥺 I think as long as a lot of heart is going into the creation of the game, it will be just fine🫶 I truly hope you love the game when it comes out or at least are able to continue playing the others!
I understand that worry, but I'm struggling to imagine how this game could be ruined by that. It's a relatively simple game, explore the ocean and discover marine life, even if you add a bunch of online mechanics, I don't see how that would ruin the solo play, I highly doubt they will make certain fish or animals only found by playing with a friend
@@nugget3687 It would be largely ruined for me if the main focus of the game depends on online play and possibly require that for achievements because I like to 100% games. It will be fine if those features are extra, but not the main gimmick of Luminous. For me, EO was always about escaping from the real life world for a while, not trying to find yet another way to connect. I'm already glued to everyone I know more than necessary, lol. If they make the social part similar to Animal Crossing, where most of the game is done solo, but you can visit your friends just for fun, then that's great. I just need reassurance of that before I use my gift card to preorder the game. I understand that this is just my opinion and others may be thrilled by the online play and won't care that it's going to require additional in game purchases to get everything the game offers. We're not all in the same place in life so we're looking at this through different lenses. I am disabled and there are many types of games I can no longer play because of that. I already have people irl who judge and even get frustrated with me if I am inconveniencing them. Like being too slow loading my groceries at checkout. That same thing would most certainly happen in any game that requires cooperative activities. Others will get frustrated with me, and then I feel like garbage for cramping everyone's style. People are often mean, but they sea creatures don't judge. That said, I go back to just wanting to escape into the EO world and play it at my own pace without pressure from rl people. And not be required to play online because I also have the slowest discount internet plan. I am low income, which is also a reason the in game purchases may be a big problem with the game if I get it. It looks like they are trying to lure in new players to the EO world, and I guess the increased social aspect is their way to do it. I just hope that they didn't stray far from the solo adventure aspects. I am still hoping!
@@mixedbouquet1 I really doubt they will make major features or mechanics exclusive to online, it will probably just be like the online stuff from the first two games but it's easier to do now and you can do it with more people lol

I also hope that in game purchases will just be for insignificant things like new hairstyles, bathing suits, customizing the boat or whatever. Nothing necessary for achievements or story. DLC on the other hand would be awesome if the rest of the game is as we hope.
I was thinking that if past characters do come as cameos, quests involved with them could happen as well. I’m just wondering if your character is going to be the main character this time around since both games before had us helping the main characters. Also, if online will be happening as a bigger feature, have quests involved with going around as a group would also be great, such as, you can find this new legendary creature on your own but if you have 5 online friends you can see it faster or something like that.
I cried when I saw the Trailer ❤ I also hope for an Island home & different biomes & like our own Reef / Aquarium ❤ There are so little relaxing ocean games out there... I dont wanna kill sharks etc. 😢

The Wii games are great i still play blue world on Wii U I just want more free roam when your diving no more invisible walls I wonder if the voice actress is coming back for more songs
Dive Discover Dream definitely had more free roam aspects than Blue World did, since you could literally press anywhere on the map and start diving. I think that would be awesome to have again! As much as I love Blue World and how you could dive around the world. There are so many great things about each game💙 but awww yes, Hayley Westenra added so much to the games with her music!
I think the Veiled Sea is the only location based on the description of the game on store pages. I also don't think there will be an aquarium, dolphin training, or swimming while holding on to larger animals since they didn't show any of those things. I don't know why they would exclude some of the most popular features from the announcement trailer unless they just aren't in the game. I have a bad feeling this is just a super low budget game trying to make a profit from diehard fans of the first 2 games.

God I'm really really hoping we get Aegirocassis and leedsichthys. Don't have my hopes up since they're kind of more obscure extinct creatures but I'm hoping so bad, they're two of my favorite extinct creatures

My working theory is that the veiled sea is going to be a mix of the mona lai sea from the first game and the private reef. It will be the homebase and the largest map, but will have the most amount of diversity, and if you’re lucky, can allow you to discover species that you won’t be able to find until later. meanwhile, other locations will stay static. best comparison I can think of is from the Pokémon scarlet and violet games where there is a limit static map, with a large changing in the center.
Yes!! I liked being able to swim up to sharks a little more freely in Dive Discover Dream. I think it’d be cool to have the dangerous creatures option, but realistically not every shark is going to attack you the moment you’re within a certain distance from them. Maybe if they had it more for certain situations, like in the quest with the tiger shark in Blue World!✨
I haven’t played Subnautica on the Switch to know how it runs! But I know out of all scuba diving games I’ve played, Endless Ocean has always had the best quality to me. Hoping that’s the case for Luminous!😊💙🌊
@@MandysGamingGarden I found Subnautica runs like manure on every platform. Atleast once you get deep enough. The Unity Engine simply cant keep up with the vision for that game. This will be my first Endless Ocean game. Gotta love some scubadiving. Cant wait to find out more.
The sharks in this game should be aggressive like they are in real life and add some jellyfish even the most venomous ones and Australia should be added to this game too and jobs as a diver more deep sea fish as well and a map of the ocean zones and treasure hunting like gold coins and whatnot and cooking seafood too
These are great ideas! I think it’d be cool if the sharks attacked on occasion or if provoked, to add some suspense and realism, also to showcase that you shouldn’t provoke a shark! I would looove to have jobs in the game, honestly all the little realistic touches are what I’m here for haha😁👏

My biggest concerns are the changing map and the fact they haven't announced a story. I liked the 2nd game much more as a kid because the story was more important to that one. I also think not knowing which version of the map you're going to have each dive could be frustrating. However, I think the map changing could be an interesting aspect of a story, if Luminous has one. Besides that, I think it looks beautiful, and beggars can't be choosers. I never expected this game to get made, and I'm so happy it even exists. I'm also glad they're expanding co-op play and adding some new legendary creatures. I don't have a Switch (I started saving up since the announcement), but I am buying the game at launch just to support the game (even if I can't play it for a few months). I'm not expecting multiple maps, but I have some ideas, maybe even for another future game: open ocean in the Pacific, Belize coral reefs with sunken Mayan ruins and a sinkhole, California kelp forests, Iceland (it could be the polar sea plus it could have volcanic features), one of the Great Lakes with a sunken factory from the 1800s, Congo River, and a sunken castle off the coast of Spain. Regardless of what they decide, I'm hoping to see variety. If you're looking for other diving games, I'd suggest Abzu. It's short, but its the closest game I've played to Endless Ocean. Subnautica is a survival game, set on an ocean planet, and its very different from Endless Ocean, but has a good sense of mystery.

The specific verbiage used in the eshop description is "discoveries that change every time you dive", it makes it sound like the map itself won't change, just the fish you will discover. I honestly don't see how they can make the ocean map change, the locations we see doesn't make it look like the world is random at all
I'm not that excited about Endless Ocean 3, but I am interested. I'm just hoping that'll be good or even better. It might be better as Blue World, but won't be better than Blue World...well for me anyway. Not saying that to be rude or negative, it just won't replace my love that I have for Blue World. Blue World is the Endless Ocean game I've known for my whole life.
However I really want to play this though because I'm interested on our main goal and I would really love to know who the characters will be that we will travel with.
Now I can't stop thinking about what the legendary creature we will be seeing in the main story line. Man, I wish to see another trailer of this game
I totally understand! Honestly, I feel that Blue World will always be at the top of the list for me, even with the release of Luminous. I don’t see that as a negative thing at all! You can still be interested in the game but also love the others more for what they bring💙 I hope that if you play Endless Ocean 3 you enjoy it even if it isn’t as great as the first two games!

I was so excited when the trailer started, but felt a bit sad by the time it was over. I loved the first two games because of the story, but also because I liked choosing where to explore. The EO games took me to a happy place, in a peaceful world. I liked exploring alone . It was my escape!
I wasn't a child when the first games came out so I can't say the games were my childhood. But they got me through some rough seasons in my life.
I think the ability to dive with to to 30 others could be fun sometimes, but I am very worried that the game will heavily weighted towards online play with others rather than the peacful offline solo adventure I loved.
Also, seeing that "in game purchases" are going to be part of the game sits the wrong way with me. So we can't strive to achieve all the goals without throwing more money at the game??🥺
Sorry I am rambling. I've been wanting a new EO game forever. And hoped they could bring the first two to the Switch even though I still own them. I hope Luminous proves to be everything we hope for, and what they showed is is just extra, not the new focus. I am sad to say that I need to see more before I preorder.
Oh my goodness I totally get what you are saying! The first two games were so stunning, heartwarming, and breathtaking and so many of us grew connected to them. That is so special that the games have helped you💙 I know from the Blue World trailer it didn’t seem to be that big of a game and didn’t seem to have any storyline at all, but when the game came out that proved to not be true. I’m hoping that is the case with this one🥺 I think as long as a lot of heart is going into the creation of the game, it will be just fine🫶 I truly hope you love the game when it comes out or at least are able to continue playing the others!
I understand that worry, but I'm struggling to imagine how this game could be ruined by that. It's a relatively simple game, explore the ocean and discover marine life, even if you add a bunch of online mechanics, I don't see how that would ruin the solo play, I highly doubt they will make certain fish or animals only found by playing with a friend
@@nugget3687 It would be largely ruined for me if the main focus of the game depends on online play and possibly require that for achievements because I like to 100% games. It will be fine if those features are extra, but not the main gimmick of Luminous.
For me, EO was always about escaping from the real life world for a while, not trying to find yet another way to connect. I'm already glued to everyone I know more than necessary, lol. If they make the social part similar to Animal Crossing, where most of the game is done solo, but you can visit your friends just for fun, then that's great. I just need reassurance of that before I use my gift card to preorder the game.
I understand that this is just my opinion and others may be thrilled by the online play and won't care that it's going to require additional in game purchases to get everything the game offers. We're not all in the same place in life so we're looking at this through different lenses.
I am disabled and there are many types of games I can no longer play because of that. I already have people irl who judge and even get frustrated with me if I am inconveniencing them. Like being too slow loading my groceries at checkout. That same thing would most certainly happen in any game that requires cooperative activities. Others will get frustrated with me, and then I feel like garbage for cramping everyone's style. People are often mean, but they sea creatures don't judge.
That said, I go back to just wanting to escape into the EO world and play it at my own pace without pressure from rl people. And not be required to play online because I also have the slowest discount internet plan. I am low income, which is also a reason the in game purchases may be a big problem with the game if I get it.
It looks like they are trying to lure in new players to the EO world, and I guess the increased social aspect is their way to do it. I just hope that they didn't stray far from the solo adventure aspects. I am still hoping!
@@mixedbouquet1 I really doubt they will make major features or mechanics exclusive to online, it will probably just be like the online stuff from the first two games but it's easier to do now and you can do it with more people lol

I also hope that in game purchases will just be for insignificant things like new hairstyles, bathing suits, customizing the boat or whatever. Nothing necessary for achievements or story. DLC on the other hand would be awesome if the rest of the game is as we hope.

I was thinking that if past characters do come as cameos, quests involved with them could happen as well. I’m just wondering if your character is going to be the main character this time around since both games before had us helping the main characters. Also, if online will be happening as a bigger feature, have quests involved with going around as a group would also be great, such as, you can find this new legendary creature on your own but if you have 5 online friends you can see it faster or something like that.

The Wii games are great i still play blue world on Wii U I just want more free roam when your diving no more invisible walls I wonder if the voice actress is coming back for more songs
Dive Discover Dream definitely had more free roam aspects than Blue World did, since you could literally press anywhere on the map and start diving. I think that would be awesome to have again! As much as I love Blue World and how you could dive around the world. There are so many great things about each game💙 but awww yes, Hayley Westenra added so much to the games with her music!
I think the Veiled Sea is the only location based on the description of the game on store pages. I also don't think there will be an aquarium, dolphin training, or swimming while holding on to larger animals since they didn't show any of those things. I don't know why they would exclude some of the most popular features from the announcement trailer unless they just aren't in the game. I have a bad feeling this is just a super low budget game trying to make a profit from diehard fans of the first 2 games.

God I'm really really hoping we get Aegirocassis and leedsichthys. Don't have my hopes up since they're kind of more obscure extinct creatures but I'm hoping so bad, they're two of my favorite extinct creatures

My working theory is that the veiled sea is going to be a mix of the mona lai sea from the first game and the private reef. It will be the homebase and the largest map, but will have the most amount of diversity, and if you’re lucky, can allow you to discover species that you won’t be able to find until later. meanwhile, other locations will stay static.
best comparison I can think of is from the Pokémon scarlet and violet games where there is a limit static map, with a large changing in the center.

i want to turn off the Dangerous Creatures mechanic and explore sharks and Dangerous animals like you could in Endless Ocean 1
Yes!! I liked being able to swim up to sharks a little more freely in Dive Discover Dream. I think it’d be cool to have the dangerous creatures option, but realistically not every shark is going to attack you the moment you’re within a certain distance from them. Maybe if they had it more for certain situations, like in the quest with the tiger shark in Blue World!✨

I haven’t played Subnautica on the Switch to know how it runs! But I know out of all scuba diving games I’ve played, Endless Ocean has always had the best quality to me. Hoping that’s the case for Luminous!😊💙🌊
@@MandysGamingGarden I found Subnautica runs like manure on every platform. Atleast once you get deep enough. The Unity Engine simply cant keep up with the vision for that game.

The sharks in this game should be aggressive like they are in real life and add some jellyfish even the most venomous ones and Australia should be added to this game too and jobs as a diver more deep sea fish as well and a map of the ocean zones and treasure hunting like gold coins and whatnot and cooking seafood too
These are great ideas! I think it’d be cool if the sharks attacked on occasion or if provoked, to add some suspense and realism, also to showcase that you shouldn’t provoke a shark! I would looove to have jobs in the game, honestly all the little realistic touches are what I’m here for haha😁👏
