Again, I was looking around your videos for this Ducati and didn't find one, this was about a week ago, and now one is posted. I'm so glad you can read your viewers minds 😂.
Thanks Schaaf, another great video, you are the best test pilot on the planet. This is the first decent video of the V4 I’ve seen. If they could clone you, I’d love to see Schaaf1 on L2 1200 versus Schaaf2 on V4 riding through some tighter roads. Thanks for making my day, Pete from Melbourne Australia, living the lockdown dream, NOT!
@@Schaaf Thanks mate. I reckon we’ll be out of lockdown early 2022. If the 2022 V4 Multistrada has a 17 inch front wheel and a single sided swingarm i will add that to my collection. If you’re planning a trip Down Under, you have a place to stay and a bike to ride, we have some awesome roads in Victoria
Thanks for this; I own a Multi V4S and I must say your observations are largely correct. As for the brakes; my bike is only at 5000km but I must agree with you that the brakes on the GS although lower-spec does have greater initial bite. It’s strange because these are Brembo Stylema’s on the Multi V4s (same as on the Panigale) and better than the M50’s which were a great set of calipers. As for that “Akrapovic” the bike had; nothing compares to the race-exhaust version! It’s wonderful!
Hi Schaaf from locked down New South Wales, Australia. Thanks for the virtual ride, though it made very envious, I've had my V4S now for three months, half of that I've not been able to ride because on the lock down. I agree it is the pick of the big adv bikes, yes the suspension is sublime, and the top end rush is pure adrenaline, I cant wait for the government to lift the restrictions so I can enjoy mine just like you were, as the bike was intended to be used. Stay safe :)
I'm really partial to a V4 and would definitely consider this. I prefer the sound of the normal firing order on the Aprilias and pre euro 5 Honda VFRs. I'd have to keep my crossrunner or buy a Tuono to go alongside it. Then it's getting really expensive 😭🤣
On the one hand, a 170hp engine on an Adventure bike is something quite useless. On the other hand, Oscar Wilde said that "All art is quite useless" 😉 Hats off to Ducati for this piece of art 🤩 Great ride & video 👌
Just traded in my 1250gs for a V4S and have gotten about 300 kilometers on it so far.. cant wait for the drive-in period to be over so I can get some revs on it 😎 Fantastic bike!
Nice review! (And nice landscape). I have a few of questions and comments for you. I owned a 1200S for 3 years and test rode a 950S and the V4 some time ago. 1.) My impression is that this bike is geared much lower than e.g. the outgoing twin. In many cases 6th gear was almost useless on the old 1200 while now it seems a bit busy at higher speed and 2nd gear is about the same as 1st gear on my currrent Yamaha MT10. Do you agree 2) The 19" front wheel. This was my biggest concern but turned out to be a positive surprise on normal roads and extremely stable. One has the feeling of rolling into the corners more than tipping in and tracking the chosen line without any effort or need for corrections. With the wide bars steering never felt heavy. The steering feel was very much like the 950S and I agree with your comment about feedback from the tyres. For road riding I wouldn't be concerned about tyre choice, the OEM tyres (same on the 1200 I had) are actually quite good and you can at least get Metzeler Roadtec and Michelin Road 5 in 19" sizes. 3) Wind noise was much lower than on the 950 and the old 1200 which could be quite annoying (I bought a Touratec screen for the 1200 which only partly solved the problem). 4) I agree with your comment on suspension. It felt even better than the 950S and my old 1200S with skyhook. Really a magic carpet ride and still totally stable. And as you say; big difference between sport/touring/urban. It makes you look for roads with bad surfaces! 5) Vibration/Fuelling and drive train. This is the first Ducati where I did not need to use the clutch at slow speeds. I could creep along at 5 km/h at constant throttle without the surging/hunting that I felt on the 1200 and made you think that the chain needs adjusting. Also, the vibration through seat/pegs/bars are much less than the 950, which I actually felt vibrated more than the old 1200. I did not notice the strong engine braking as much as you but you also ride a lot in low gears and really use the gearbox Schaaf!! I usually found myself "floating" through the corners in a gear higher than I would have done on the 1200. Like you, I fell in love with this bike. The only downside could be the fuel consumption (probably partly also a result of the low gearing) but I see from the Ducati forum that some owners report that the consumption goes down after a few 1000 km. It's going to be a long winter......

Sorry for the late reply, in case you haven't decided yet: I would take the V4 S. It has much better suspension and a lot more pull from the bottom. The XR is only besser with wind protection
Great video Schaaf! I'd love to see a RAW! of the Honda CB650R 2021 - what an amazing bike! And the 4 cyl sound just makes it perfect in my opinion. I'd love to hear your thoughts on it. Especially as a beginners bike.
Was the KTM Adventure you rode the newest, latest S version with low fuel tanks? That will be the bike to compare to this. Leaving marginal fuel mileage/capacity, though....
Nice - I like these Multistrada's but I thought it was a bit too good if that doesn't sound daft. I like to feel like I'm riding the bike not it's riding me! Ended up with a 2021 KTM 1290 SAR - feels like a big aggressive dirt bike - which makes it fun even if you can't corner as fast as some of the rivals. Great vid as usual.
Came here as soon as I found out they're going to put this engine in the next gen Diavels. Can't tell if the sound fits better than the existing L twin, both sound great though.
@Schaaf Das mit dem Ansauggeräusch kenn ich von meiner 1190...hört man in echt auch deutlich besser😑....vl ein zusätzliches Mikro im Tankrucksack oder sowas?🧐
Hi Schaaf, Great Riding....What was the fuel mileage you were getting? I'm hearing mixed feedback on fuel range anywhere from 150-180 miles to a tank. I'm considering the Multi V4S and the KTM 1290 SAS for my next bike, and this would be a limiting factor if I can't get at least 180 miles to a tank. Thanks.
Amazing bike, I wonder how durable it will be. I'm riding rather a cheap bike doing almost 20k km per season and after 3 years it started being a bit whimsy - I'm loosing the trust in the bike :( I saw some Multi 1200 S with 70k km of total mileage and I would not call it reliable, unfortunately :( I'd expect something more for the price.
Unfortunately I wouldn't expect this Multistrada to be very reliable indeed. Basically all the European manufacturers are not exactly known for their reliability :(
I love how yo ucan have fun but also respect the road, not going flatout into blind corners that you see so many on here do,
A good rider

Hi Schaaf, Great Riding....What was the fuel mileage you were getting? I'm hearing mixed feedback on fuel range anywhere from 150-180 miles to a tank. I'm considering the Multi V4S and the KTM 1290 SAS for my next bike, and this would be a limiting factor if I can't get at least 180 miles to a tank. Thanks.
on a 4200km long trip I averaged out with 6,7l / 100km
@@Schaaf that's around 204 miles. Thanks.
I have a 1260 pikes peak with a full termi, tempted by the multi v4s but not sure it’s worth the £7k cost to change
Probably not
Nice ride 🤜. How would you rate it's comfort compared to the others? Seriously considering one of these
Comfort wise I only rate the GS higher
@@Schaaf thanks, will have to test ride a GS 🤜
Bist du je eine Honda VFR 800 vtec Bj 2006 gefahren? #offtopic
Nice job. Well done.
Thanks a lot for the support! Much appreciated!
Seems that the quickshifter works very well on the multistrada. Even down to the 1st gear. Very nice video 👍
Definitely does
How is your feeling with the 19” at the front compare with the 17” of the 1260s? Grazie!
You don't notice it's a 19 up front...like at all.
Indeed. It is the most agile ADV
Wird auch bald ein video mit der indian scout bobber kommen? würde mich freuen

Du machst mir sogar Ducati gschmackig Schaaf XD Geiles Video, danke! Lg aus 1180
Lebt deine CB 500 noch?
Freilich
Amazing bike, I wonder how durable it will be. I'm riding rather a cheap bike doing almost 20k km per season and after 3 years it started being a bit whimsy - I'm loosing the trust in the bike :( I saw some Multi 1200 S with 70k km of total mileage and I would not call it reliable, unfortunately :( I'd expect something more for the price.
Unfortunately I wouldn't expect this Multistrada to be very reliable indeed. Basically all the European manufacturers are not exactly known for their reliability :(
I read somewhere that it has like 40K servicing intervals, probably will be quite solid.
Wich One u like better overall schaff? Gsa 1250 or the v4s
v4
Holy smoking sh*t. That sounds like a freaking beast.
thanks
