Oh my goodness you both make me laugh out loud - thank you for always bringing us so much joy! What a wonderful relationship you have with one another. Enjoy your dad Carlos - so good you can spend time together. 💕
I am glad you are giving yourselves a break but oh, how I will miss sit and knit. It has been a true joy in the midst of some difficult times. But I am doing as you requested and viewing older videos to keep you on good terms with RUclipss persnickety algorithm. God bless you as you take well deserved time to relax and refresh.
it would be so sad if you completely stopped sit & knit for a bit, it tells us a lot about you both & your life styles which we love to hear about no matter how mundane it gets; you both are a breath of fresh air for many of us stuck at home; love the family stories, to cheer you both on when you get to go work (or play) with designs or when you go off on your travels, which many of us just dream about doing; so please think seriously about your sit & knit for a bit, please don't give up on it, even once a month or doing the reruns (which i have thoroughly enjoyed) they don't have to be weekly. we love everything you do; plus it keeps us up to date with what you're making :)) the Hexagons you need, if they're the size Kate sent you, are 1" (one inch) you only measure 1 side; you should be able to do a google search & hopefully someone close to you does laser cutting good luck thanx so much for sharing your time with us & hope that your dad enjoys his visit & you get the kitchen table of your dreams, totally love old farm house table & chairs, they are also so different from country to country, hope you show us what you end up choosing; thanx for sharing
Just getting a chance to watch you on Saturday! I laughed thinking of Arne playing Twister. I'm sure it was loads of fun and much laughter by all involved. Enjoy the visit with your father and safe travels on the cruise. Congratulations to the winner of the contest! Arne & Carlos treasures has to be the best prize yet! Hugs for Freja! ❤🤗😘
Lovely video ! Thank you. Kate is using a Sizzix machine. You will also have to buy different size cutting dies. One to cut the paper and one ( a little bigger) for cutting the fabric. (Or you cut the fabric with scissors) You determine the size of the hexagon by measuring the side of the hexagon. I bought my Sizzix machine here in the US in a craft store and the cutting dies in GB. BTW, I am joining you in cutting stained and broken table cloths. It’s great fun to create something new. Thanks for the inspiration!
It made me smile that Arne used Carlos' shirt for part of the quilt. My grandma used a small piece of my Grandpa's red and white pajamas in each quilt that she made.
Hi Arne and Carlos, another lovely vlog..i laughed at Arne and the twister cheating he did. Kate uses the Sizzex Big Shot Die cutter machine for her hexagons, (with a 1 inch die cutter). Love the doll dress, you two are so inspirational. Have a great time on your cruise, eat lots chocolate at 79🤗 take care..susan in Oz
Thanks for summer sit and knit for a bit videos! All your projects are so great! Have a wonderful Svalbard cruise and adventures before and after that! Enjoy the rest of the summer!! And stay safe!
When I was a kid, we made a quilt out of pieces from all my favorite dresses. One in particular stands out in my memory: a dress with ponies (maybe merimekko but not sure). It had a red border and the backing was a bed sheet (a pretty one). It was just squares and we made it up as we went. It wasn’t until today o’clock that I learned about knitting patterns and quilting instructions. Although Mom did sew our clothes using those Simplicity (etc) patterns. I remember those laid out all over the living room floor. Love the piece with Carlos’ shirt.
I so enjoy sitting and knitting and listening to all your projects, and personal daily happenings. I am amazed at the quilt (loved the bird piece), and also amazed at just how creative you are overall - your minds must be busy ALL the time! You two are a definite inspiration for me. Sending ❤️
The hexagons are Beautiful they look so perfect. The designs are really eye catching . Arne you are so artistic. Yes the Christmas hexagons are very pretty too. Would make a lovely table cloth . Really enjoy watching you both .You brighten my days . Thanks for your videos.
i had to pause your sakfab to watch monty don's coverage of the tromso alpine garden... what a place for the bucket list! i'll be on a knit cruise with two norway stops (bergen and molde) in a few weeks, but unfortunately not on yours about that same time, and not that far north! i will wave to you from afar and hope to see a few gardens, yarn stores, chocolate shops and thrift stores along the way. enjoy your summer with your dad. and OF COURSE you need a christmas quilt...! 💓🧶🌻
Your knitting cruise sounds amazing. Such incredible history and people relying on what the ship brings them. Who wouldn't love chocolate and yarn! How fun! Arne visible mending on the pants is really lovely. Have a wonderful time with your Dad Carlos, it's so nice you'll be spending time with him.
You fill your videos with such fun history, facts about all kinds of interesting things and traveling info! Down shorts? Who knew they made these things. Love your hexi project with Carlos’s shirt and your fabric! Have fun on your trip! Are you taking the Twister game?
Morning from Oz to my favourite Men and their videos. Loved this episode. It was lovely hearing about your visitors. My family has loved playing Twister. So much fun. I hope your Sister see this episode and sees your enjoyment of her falling over. You’re enthusiasm for your hexagons has made me start to make a quilt with them. Arne I love your giggles and Carlos’s eye rolling. I went to see the Barbie movie and loved it. I have pulled out my Daughter’s Barbie and have started making clothes to give to my Granddaughter. Enjoy yourDad’s visit. Stay safe.
We have a lovely old harvest table from Eastern Ontario as our dining table and had 4 plugs put in on the legs so we could sit at it to eat or else our legs would not be comfortable. I then found old press back chairs from the same area being sold at a church that was closing down and not we sit 12 people on their old farm table. Good luck finding one!!
Me again! Thought 💭 I would mention following weekend I’m going to Wool show in Newcastle racecourse it’s first time ever for the event so I’ll really looking forward to it and of course you visited Newcastle! Xx 😘 ❤😘
Thank you for being so dedicated to keeping SAKFAB going through all sorts of changes in your daily life. You two are so generous with your time. I’ll miss these cozy visits if you can’t manage it anymore, but thanks for all the inspiration, laughs, and glimpse into your daily life.
Carlos, I've had yarn to knit the Reine Hat. So, I'll knit mine at the same time as you. I actually used these yarns, a very light lilac tonal with a white yellow-speckled, knitting your Christmas ball with the churches. I used the lilac as the sky and the white for the snow on the ground and the churches. It's still not stuffed because I want to add a little bling--some tiny beads accenting the snow and shiny snowflakes. It's meant for my son who lives in Portland, Oregon. I love the yarn and because I used it on a Christmas ball, I went to your website and found the Reine pattern that I thought it would work well in. Have a wonderful vacation, you two, and a nice visit with your Dad. ❤
I wish I had been there when you and your family played "TWISTER". Your laughter was so contagious to me while you were describing what was going on. Thanks for making me laugh as well. Everyone needs such laughter. 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
I love your hexagons! Love, love, love the Christmas hexagons, it’s going to be a beautiful quilt. I love to buy linens at thrift shops, estate sales and garage sales. Hope you have a great time with your Dad and looking forward to seeing what table and chairs you get. I love watching you two, you do have a lot going on. I have coffee and garden in the morning in my pajamas also.
I think playing Twister with Arne would be dangerous! I really do love the way you two interact! Have a wonderful visit with your dad, Carlos and a fabulous cruise!
Hi Arne & Carlos! I hope the visit with Carlos’ father went joyful. The visit with Arne’s sister and grandkids sounds hilarious and darling. Keep enjoying the summer!
Ooh, I just bought yarn for the peacock scarf on holiday. I bought it in Germany, but it is Danish yarn (BC garn). We were also in Denmark for a week. I am a bit intimidated still by a lace scarf, but at least I have yarn for it now. It's got alpaca and is so soft 😁🐑 Hope you are okay and not bothered by the bad weather in Norway We also met up with one of the people who joined us and we met on your cruise last October. Of course we went to her favorite yarn store 🧶
So excited to hear that I can look forward to the special selection of scraps from you as the result of the Peacock Feathers Scarf competition. I really was in shock and couldn’t believe my ears to hear my IG name announced and then squealed with delight followed by the happiest of dances. Thank you so much for your generous gift. And for this beautiful scarf pattern.
Thanks, guys! That was a fun episode. How you manage to get everything done is beyond me! Good luck with the Beetle, book in Dutch, Dad, the table, the organza, and both the cruises……did I forget anything? I’m exhausted just thinking about it all. Hugs!
Enjoyed this as usual - interesting content . Hmmm. What a delightful visit with family ! Enjoy your dad Carlos. Oh God -twister - I’m laughing with Arne!! I would have loved to have seen this! Hope you show the new kitchen table. Enjoy cruise ! Hexies are gorgeous. Marilyn NJ USA
Your sound crackled a bit, It did correct itself thankfully a little way in Thank goodness. Hehe. I bet it was lovely making the theatre, very clever, sounds like you were kept busy. Haha. Maybe like things in Uk the cloud berries are a bit behind, with the weird weather. Let’s hope we get a bit of sun before winter comes along. Hope we get to meet your dad. That would be nice. Will do your dad good to have a little break away as well. Sometimes you need a little escape. Time to get refreshed. When you get a bit older you will never get up from the table, you will be to wobbly. With short chair legs . It will be like doing twister each time you get up. Your naughty Arne with twister , haha. I love your wicked sense of humour. My sense of humour 100% per cent. The cheeky side . Lovely. A new adventure for your cruise. Be careful with Arne in the chocolate shop. He will be like a little boy again , hehe. Like your hexagons Arne they do look nice The cotton patch Is where I bought mine in the Uk I think they are based in Birmingham. You then buy the dyes that’s the cutters the size you want, they do lots of shapes also. If you go to cotton patch then go to sizzex machine and dyes you will find all you want. One tip the size cutter you want is the size of one of the sides of the hexagon. Not the width across. Hope you get one ok. I also buy a pack of thicker card 500 sheets from a stationery store. I can give you the names of some people that sell just the hexagons cut if you like with a material that stays in the hexagon.. if doing a larger quilt can be a bit more expensive. But you will not need any batting./wadding. Happy break away.
Takk for this lovely video. It was so great to see Arne cracking up laughing about the Twister game 😊 I love how the paper pieced quilts are developing, like me, you have to have more than one on the go lol! Maybe the next cruise can be a Quilting Bee so that everyone can help you finish your quilts 😂 I would love to join one of your cruises, though I need another 2 jobs and an extra lifetime to cram it all in 😁 Have fun! Be well, Sally 🌹
Refreshing to hear about your fun and games with your nephews! Twister with Arne sounds like a good time! Oh by the way, one of my brothers didn't talk until he was three or so. Now his wife wishes he would not talk all the time.Love you guys Safe travels!
Oh my…that Twister story was SO funny! Naughty Arne 🤭. Your hexagons are looking lovely 🥰. I especially liked the bullfinch Christmas one and the all blue set. Have fun with your Dad, Carlos and thanks for the shorts on RUclips until we can be together again in September ❤️
I wish I could buy the hexagons from Kate! They're so lovely. I checked her website a month ago when I first saw your older video with her, but no dice. I would imagine she doesn't want to sit around all day every day cutting hexagons for us to buy haha! Your hexi-quilts are going to be soooooo pretty!
Oh my gosh! I haven't played Twister with our kids in years! I don't think I'd love it as much anymore, so I don't think I'll play with THEIR kids, ha ha! Too painful. Interesting to hear you're doing a book in Dutch. On my dad's side, his grandparents came to the US from The Netherlands. I still have some relatives from there, but unfortunately I cannot speak the language. Enjoy your Dad's visit, Carlos, and you both enjoy the cruise! ❤
Great Podcast. In German the nephews of Donald Duck are called Tick, Trick and Track, i was so confused the first time, when reading about them in english...😀
hi guys great podcasttoday i had a great laugh at you guys playing the twister game i will miss you but i know you are busy so i will be happy to see you when you get back so have a good time with your dad and on your cruise and take care i will see you when i see you
Congrats to the peacock scarf winner. I love the idea of sending the prize from the smallest post office in the world. Hope everyone has a great cruise.
Sorry, I had to ditch you for Monty Don. I love his gardening series. So interesting about Svalbard, the Gulf Stream, climate change ... It's led me on to much more reading. Thanks, Arne & Carlos. ♥ 🦘🦘🦘🦘🦘
You guys brighten up my day, you are so funny! Carlos, I researched you as I couldn't work out how a Norwegian would be called Carlos. I found that your heritage is very varied and interesting and that you speak several languages, so impressive! Love all your videos.
Arne and Carlos this was fantastic, so many wonderful opportunities to laugh out loud. Please enjoy your visit with your father and your cruise. Whenever you post we will be here. Please pet Freya for me
I borrowed from my library "Arne & Carlos Greatest knit". There is a photo of an older couple sitting in the garden. A man with a hat on. Carlos, are they your parents?? There is a Sissix Big shot machine to cut hexagon templates. Which I think Kate has. But hard to find. Carlos, You sound like my hubby. Saying "Im younger than you". Only 4 months - seriously!
this is such an interesting episode. the permafrost people reminds me of the preserved man from the Irish peet bog - he had perfectly preserved Tartan clothes and red hair.
I wondered about getting a hexie punch. Looks like it can work fine if you start out with it. I have a few to finish that I will have to probably buy punched. I could draw and cut, but it is not back to school in some states, so no time for me to do that. Kate has the Sizzex machine, I believe.
How about a vintage enamel table top kitchen table - usually there is a wood base and matching chairs - they are so neat and would look great in your kitchen and they are not too big - also some have inserts.
Oh my! I was laughing just as hard with the Twister game, and Arne's sister! 🤣😂🤣😂 Loved the thoughtfully consider table purchase. I always have to sit in a chair and at a table to know if it's what I prefer.
Sorry about the sound issues in the beginnig, luckily, it got fixed very quickly and the sound is back to normal 3 minutes into the podcast.
3:02 is the timestamp for when normal audio starts ❤
Oh, it's just how I sound when I first talk to someone when I get up in the. morning. That goes back to normal, too!
Oh my goodness you both make me laugh out loud - thank you for always bringing us so much joy! What a wonderful relationship you have with one another. Enjoy your dad Carlos - so good you can spend time together. 💕
Wow! Busy busy ! Have fabulous time with your Father Carlos! Sounded fun family time! Enjoy your cruise very very interesting! Xx 💚

You could always consider a Sit and Knit for a Bit bi-weekly or monthly for the rest of the year if that were possible. Just a thought.
Will you need the down pants at 10 degrees ? Here we use them at -20 or -30. Have a good trip !

Knitting the scarf is the best prize but this generous gift is a real bonus. I feel so fortunate. Shirley
The hexagon quilt is progressing nicely. I am loving the color ways.
I can’t wait for the non cable scarf pattern. It is so beautiful.
What a cool machine that cuts templates. Not seen those before.
“Because I’m cleaning” 😂😂😂
My birthday 🎉 is in October so on my birthday wishlist will be your new "Dutch" book. Happy me.
Have a lovely day 🧡🧶
You as well!
So nice when you can help little children be creative…Bet all the kids enjoy being with you both…
I think you did the right thing separating the boys when they were arguing. You’d be a good parent….❤
Beautiful hexagons. So clever 🥰
In german the three boys from Donald Duck are called "Trick, Trick and Track" 😅 had a good laugh about the Names in other languages
this is such an interesting episode. the permafrost people reminds me of the preserved man from the Irish peet bog - he had perfectly preserved Tartan clothes and red hair.
Loving the hexies!
We have the cold wind in winter from the North here in Newfoundland and it’s cold…Fishing was a big part of our heritage as well…
