You have it exactly right. Remember that he's about 20 years old when this masterpiece came out. Abel is trying to fill a void within himself with women, sex, and drugs. He's fallen in love with this girl, but she cheats on him. which only makes that void even larger. It creates this feedback loop where he cheats on her and he goes even deeper down the rabbit hole. Sometimes the women and the drugs may be a means to end. Ultimately, Abel is looking for meaning and love. You've remarked it on it before, but it's amazing that Abel was to put out this type of music at 20 years old and blaze the path for today's RnB/hip hop/pop artists. His hugely influential mixtapes are timeless masterpieces that still hold tremendous replay value today. Do yourself a favor and read up on the reviews for his mixtapes when they came out. House of Balloons was made with no pressure to be radio friendly or for sales. No artistic integrity was sacrificed, and it shows.

This is my favorite song on the mixtape. The outro of Loft Music sort of makes me visualize this character at the end of the party, where finally he's all alone and can no longer escape his own mind with the drugs, sex, etc,. Basically this is an episode of two people at the end of their time together. He knows she cheated on him, so he cheats on her with no remorse. He says, "It don't hurt like you thought it would, the more of you the merrier." Both of them are grasping at the tiny pieces of love that are left between them and know that their time is up. He knows everything that she did, that he did, what's going to happen, and that it's okay. I like to think that this song and the heartbreak is what made The Weeknd the devious character he is.

the video is related to Abels and Ethiopia history but he kinda lost his strength, hope, love and his faith so he also cheated on his girl like she did to him thinking got ugly to him
Ethiopian history is also kinda like this Ethiopia used to be so powerful and historical place in Africa, middle east and Europe but all this was gone do to swivel ware so they lost everything and things got messy in the country that's why you saw Ethiopian things going on with him on the video
