An update came in a few hours ago - the decision to drop the prologue from the main release should speed things along. We're expecting an announcement soon(TM).
If you don't know what to do with your schedule, why not play some more arcade games. They are actually some of my favourite content, and I wouldn't even mind more than one video on each game mode. On a related note whatever happened to the Niadra co-op video?
- Tell me, how did you lose Aiur to these animals? Did they leap up and chew apart your starships? - No, they ignored our one carrier and overrun our base with a flood of lings. Despite what it looks like, our buildings can't fly.
Pretty sure that Grant's initial fear of this mission was based on memories of Mass Recall. In SC1, the yellow and orange players on this mission don't actually turn on until you go south of the teal base. (Black sheep wall may also turn them on after a few moments; I don't remember, but it definitely induces casters to come harass you even if the AI isn't doing anything else.) Mass Recall, of course, fixed this. His comment about the AI rebuilding is also true of MR, but the SC1 AI is very lazy.
Starcraft 1: Zerglings Only - Part 8 Thumbnail text: Hey everyone, not sure what to put for today's thumbnail text, so how is everyone's day today? Y'all feeling good?
The carrier had 86 kills. You lost 506 units. If the carrier hadn't killed any zerglings, you would've lost 420 units. Not only would've the number been way under 500, it also would've been the funny number.
This is the exact strategy I used to beat the final zerg mission, because they give you an absolute massive amount of minerals, and like 1-2 gas geysers. So you basically have enough gas to buy upgrades for lings, but not enough to buy a large Mutalisk ball. Unless you manage to clear the flanking bases before the Protoss deplete the geysers.
Seeing this and the marine series really just highlights how little the AI does in terms of aggression on some maps, outside of a few pokes. I know it's meant to be beaten, but some of these have really shown it more than others.
@GGG The Hexagon is the Bestagon! Also the Parallelogram is used in what's called a four-bar-linkage which basically means machines use them. Think old trains - remember how the wheels turned because of pistons; that's actually a four bar linkage :D
Grant doesn't know about the original mineral walking? Workers phase through mineral crystals on arbitrary paths. There is even tricks to finagle ground units through minerals by having them be escorted by a worker.
When I finished this one, I wasn't able to clear the Yellow Protoss (the direct South) because the Skytoss was pretty brutal, so I went for a dive to the objective and found out that you can create a base there....and no one is attacking you for some reason so the time I am waiting for the crystal to be retrieve is much more peaceful than when I am expanding naturally
I think we both thought this one would be tougher than it was. I thought the air would give more trouble, forcing a slower spore creep to the temple. Definitely well handled.
Reavers cost 200 minerals to produce, and each scarab costs 15 minerals. this means that Reavers, in order to pay for themselves against zerglings, must kill at least nine zerglings per Reaver. Due to scarab Aoe and zergling pathing, each scarab kills between 4-6 zerglings per shot on average. So if you can prevent a reaver from firing more than twice, you actually come out ahead on zergling costs.
Technically with as little gas as you need, you only need 1 or 2 drones mining gas. It could save that little bit taken away from mineral collection. Just a very tiny optimization I noticed you could make.
I think a star is the weakest of the shapes, because of how stress is distributed. A parrellogram, or a rhombus if its 4 equal sides, is also fairly weak due to stress getting put at an angle, thus causing it to sheer sooner into plastic deformation.
5sec in and I already have a burning question- NOW is the mission you were so afraid of???? Not The Amerigo, not the mission with a zero-'ling start where you had to build your shit on an enemy's creep- NOW is the one you were scared for?? I can't wait for the rest of this video lol I need some popcorn
I think he didn't realize that the mission where you had zero lings and had had to proxy hatch was like that, and assume that the protons was competent in this. But in this mission we see that, while the ai had all the pieces to make this hell, they just were not in the right position when he attack outside of one base.
The drone carrying the crystal can be killed tho, cause crystal itself is invulnerable. If in desperation, one can just send all drones and let them carry the crystal one after another until moving out of danger. Of course, StarCraft 1 difficulty is not that high to begin with and losing drone is darn near impossible unless player pays no attention. Same for next mission.
@@CleavingRay Yeah, Dragoons are _bad_ but at the end of the day, they are ranged, they hit air and ground, and are reasonably durable. En-masse, they are completely viable. Zealots would be much more of a challenge.

The key for killing reaver is having more zerglings then scarab explosion area.
Technically, squares and rectangles are also a parallelogram, so most houses and buildings are made of parallelograms
