I was gonna say the same thing. Also with the sweet relish, leave out the sugar. Yes, I'm diabetic. I use dill pickles and chop up a granny smith apple for the HEALTHY tuna salad.
Your “1 tablespoon mayo” made that obvious! 😂 I don’t care for mine quite as dry, although I do agree 1 full cup seems to boarder on a grotesque amount of mayo…I’d start with at least 1/4 cup, and add more if needed. 😂 EDITED TO ADD: And, yes…that tuna water needs drained..oh, my. 😮
It’s not that she forgot! The person who sent the recipe didn’t give the full instructions 😒 they should have told her to drain the water from the tuna can first 😊
@@valarieblackmon people don’t really know how to read instructions! Same recipe, but drain the tuna water and add some paprika for a kick, and celery, maybe also some carrots for some crunch. Also take out the relish and replace it with pickles.
She's so beautiful and secondly, the fact that she followed this recipe so well, shows that she can make something good if people stop sending a bullsh*t lol
Mamma ... Always DRAIN The Tuna. REMEMBER To DRAIN Everything, UNLESS it Says NOT To. This is only a helpful hint to help you in your new cooking Adventures 😃
Right! No sugar and use dill relish or chop some dill pickles in there. I don't use onion either but that's probably OK in there. And about half thar amount of mayo. That recipe she made cannot be good.
I think, considering the recipe called for a whole cup of mayo, the cans of tuna should have been the larger ones (just one size up from what she used), and the tuna should have definitely been drained. Also, there is no way I would add sugar.
I just wish I can cook Mama one good meal that she would freaking enjoy. Some of them recipes that they be coming up with is borderline off the wall. One love mama and son.
Bless your heart. ❤ love you! I stumbled upon your Channel and I love it. You remind me of my mom. ❤I lost her when I was 21. But when I see you, I see her and it makes me smile.
Always drain your tuna first when making tuna salad. You don’t need the sugar at all with the 3 tbsp of relish! Trust me, it’s healthier w/out the sugar, as long as, you use sweet relish. Hope this helps.❤
It's perfect for this time of year 😜 , I like to make up tuna salad my way, and make a sandwich and I have to have a slice of garden tomato 🍅 on my tuna salad sandwich, soooo good in the summer time, 😋
I was going to ask why does it look like soup like her other stuff, but I saw a comment that she didn’t drain. That’s her usual self. 🤣tuna definitely didn’t leave the ocean. I have never seen or heard of anyone doing that.lol But still love Josh and momma.
I just make it like this. Drain the tuna, add in a bowl with white onion, majo and a pinch of salt. That's it, we eat it with rye bread. Hello from Europe 👋 but yours looks so good with eggs and stuff 🤤
The reason the recipe didn't say to drain the tuna is because everyone (except Momma) knows you're supposed to drain it first. And personally, 1/2 cup mayo would have been plenty.
It's good like that but with less mayo, black pepper, and celery chopped small for extra crunch, a little pickle juice. Slap it on bread with baked lays BBQ chips. It's incredible.
So two types of spoonful's, (I.E: You have a Tablespoon that would be leveled off at the rims of the spoon or measuring cup. Then you have a "Heaping Tablespoon." That is piled higher than the edges of the spoon/measuring cup.) Yours were closer to a Heaping Tablespoon this difference can make a major change in what you're cooking.
She never drains anything. How is it possible to be her age with kids and a husband and not know something as basic as draining liquid from things unless it says otherwise in the recipe?! SMH. But I enjoy the entertainment. 😂
I make mine close to this. Minus the sugar and garlic powder. Sometimes if I don't have sweet relish. I add grapes and dill pickles chopped up. People that send recipes need to let her know if the cans need to be drained. It confuses me sometimes too. Good job Momma.
Momma, regarding ANYTHING in a can , repeat after me:
When in doubt, drain it out!
Memorize that & make it your mantra. It will serve you well.
Came here to say the same🙂
😂😂😂
She strained it before hand, No? it looks drier. Ive seen her crack and dump so I know what you mean but I think its just the CUP of mayo lmao
Maybe from the mayo, a cup is a lot without noodles or something @@KnicknackCottonWolf
@@KnicknackCottonWolfshe did I was surprised
I love how momma called it creamy instead of watery. She's so sweet.
Momma, next time squeeze the water out of the tuna, more creamy, less watery. Momma used spices and measuring you guys🎉

Oooh I didn't realize she didn't drain the drums.I thought it was the mayo that made it soupy.
Do the same for the sweet relish; add just the relish without it's juice.
No water squeeze it out
Mommy, you're so sweet. You really used some seasoni g. Yes, drain the water good job, Josh would be proud. Love you mommy, bless your heart ❤️
Bless you momma but please drain your tins 😂
My opinion, drain the tuna, and start with a tablespoon of mayo..You can always add more.. but I prefer my tuna salad more on the dry side
Here Here . . . same!
True, looked like tuna soup! 😂

I'd do dill relish and no sugar. Also add some mustard.
Oh yes! Me too! And I drain the water from my tuna.
Mustard, no way! I use 2 boiled eggs sweet or dill relish
In mine, I use sweet relish and a dash of black pepper and, of course, Dukes mayo!
I'm with you! I also add 1/3 tsp of celery seed
