Walking is very under rated In this country. People think it's a time waste and it doesn't do anything as they have a preconceived notion that only tough things have good effect. NO, that's not true. Walking is good if you do it for longer duration for example minimum 1 hr. I was fat and overweight, I didn't change my diet. I only incorporated walking and slowly I started some home workouts. I lost a lot of weight and got in the best shape that anyone would want to have. Walking helped reduce weight and weight training helped me to become strong and energetic plus attractive.
Honestly, I eat more than before now because now I know everything about my body after investing time in learning about nutrition, exercise and my own body.
I live in Nepal and i walk like 10 hours a day and i am always slim and avoid street food on a regular basis. I want to gain mass but I can't gain because of work😢
i also want to share my story.... i also gained weight like 67kg withing few yrs cause i have thyroid {i stopped walking due to rainy season and due to that eventually i stopped}... and my doctor told me again to start walking (cause i stopped walking for apparently no reason)... so started my morning walk in feb this year, before this year i used to walk in evening after work but since i am unemployed i thought i should try in the morning (cause i was waking up in 11 or 12 noon, my schedule was really bad) it was also due to my evening tuition time clash. anyhoo, thank god it all happened, cause when i started my morning walks, i was feeling really refreshed and mentally good. also i was taking a huge step by going in the morning cause i am not morning person, but walking in the morning is the best thing i discovered. i checked my weight last month, and it was 59kg, and i felt really happy.... and kinda confident. and i really want to be confident and healthy, and kinda attractive too, earlier i was always felt ugly and undesirable. now i feel little less ugly and little less undesirable. i realized the power of walking daily... i started with 3000 steps and now i am doing 7000steps daily with yoga...
I was conscious of how my body looked before going to college so I changed my diet. I wasn't that overweight but by changing the diet I lost more than 9 kgs in 2 months. And to be honest it not only changed my physical appearance but also made me much more energetic. I feel like being a happier person than before.
I am sharing my experience. My weight was 105 KG, then I started a gym, join personal training and now it's 93 KG . I reduced 12 KG in 3 months and many more in upcoming months ....And if we talk about diet, i dont know whether it is called diet or something else , i am Only eating homemade food and yes rice potato sugar also [ its my personal choice follow according to your health ] . And yes, fat loss is also happening. Now 3 XL size shirts are looking big. I have shifted to 2 XL [ same brand clothes] and will keep progressing further 😊😊..fat loss has also happened my waist size shifted to 44 to 36 [ according to brand size and yes same brand ]. cardio treadmill has helped me a lot, specially high incline slow speed ..😊😊 and weight training also ... Many people were telling me in the beginning that brother your weight will increase soon, so listen I check my weight monthly, maximum times it is less, very rarely it remains the same, everyone's health is different, so follow according to your health😊😊 progress is progress no matter when it starts[ for my journey]
Jab hafte mei 1 baar se zada non veg khane ko bolta hu toh mota ho jayega bolke nhi khane dete aur Protein Powder aur Creatine ka naam sunte hi har parents sochne lagte hai ki inn sab mei steroids hi honge, I agree kuch brands bekar hai aur wo hamari parwah karte hai but Mai Balanced diet ke liye Protein intake badhana chahta hu toh sunne ko mila ki "jabse gym jaane laga hai tabse protein protein bahut karta hai" 😞
Solution is simple: ---> Introduction of resistance training. Gym membership is great but if that is not available, bodyweight exercises (calisthenics) can be a viable option. ---> Introduce more protein in diet. --->Eliminate sedentary lifestyle, e.g walking , also another great option is just climbing stairs up and down for a couple of time(burns good amount of calories). ---> Cutting down refined sugar, refined oil , packaged foods in general.
I REALLY LOVED THAT YOU TOOK THE SPONSOR BY THE PRODUCT YOU USED FOR YOURSELF NOT ONLY CLAIMING ON SOME OTHER DOING IT. (KNOWING YOU AND HOPING YOU ARE TRUE ABOUT USING IT)
Basically it bolis down to these things : 1. Unhealthy Diet and Lifestyle (the average Indian diet is too high in carbs and fat and severely lacking in protein) 2. Stress from everyday studies and work 3. Little to no culture of physical fitness or exercise. 4. Lack of knowledge and awareness about the correct diet and what to eat. 5. Overconsumption & Overeating. (We Indians just eat way too much in general whether it is in our everyday lives or eating unnecessarily during festivals) 6. General ignorance and chalta hai attitude.
@parthkhanolkar7916 Yeah I kinda agree with you but the thing is, people in India have very little time for themselves, especially if they're adults, so they generally choose to ignore healthy eating altogether.
back in 2022 when i was 19year old my weight was 94kgs. yes 94. my BMI was obesity class 1. i was made fun of in my college class saying things like "balloon" "football" girls didn't talk with me. then in 2023 i started working out. today in 2024 my weight is 75kgs and the BMI is curr 23. so proud of myself but it's still a long way to go.
I’ve been obese all my life (21 here), and my peak weight was over 140 kg at 5'4". I started my weight loss journey in February 2023, and right now I’m down to 92 kg. Jahan bhi aap ab ho, don’t wait for motivation-just get started. Go to a gym, get a 3-6 month membership, and convince yourself, ‘Nahi gaya toh paise waste ho jayenge.’ I know its too hard to start but just do it without thinking much, don't wait for mondays or next month or new year...
"Nahi toh pese waste ho jayenge" is a wrong path. Losing weight is not a big deal and there's nothing to be proud about. It's your body and health, and not a prize winning competition. Maintain that lost weight for the rest of your life, which almost all "instant weight loss" people fail to do because it requires lifelong consistency.

one of the major points ignored here is financial status. The poorer people are getting fat, while richer people can take better care of their diet and exercise. Our food policy has been frozen since post-Independence. It is very carbohydrate and calorie centric. This was necessary at a time when people were dying of British created famines. But now were a net food excess country. But our food policy has not shifted carbohydrate centric to Nutrition centric. Protein rich foods are much more expensive. While the only affordable foods, like rice, wheat, and potatoes are carbohydrate centric. Even the dairy revolution which greatly contributes to our vegetarian protein intake, has mostly yielded Dairy FATS, like butter and ghee, and NOT dairy PROTEIN like whey protein, paneer, cheeses, etc. As a result the food that keeps you fit, is not affordable, and the food that is affordable is also the one that make you fat. Modern Punjabi food, despite being tasty, is the biggest victim of this food policy, because Punjab was the first recipient of both these food policies. We need to bring back the diversity of vegetables and fruits and low calorie cereals and make them affordable. In other words, poor people should be able to afford Jowar Bajra and Ragi again, and make them the key component of their diet. We need to bring back the diverse meat sources, like varieties of native poultry, and goats, and fishes, instead of just the fasted cultured breed.
I believe a poor person can maintain a 70% balanced diet aswell but I agree with your points about the difference between rich and poor in India, mostly uppermost rich and farmers are the only ones who are getting foods which are good to health.
Mohak thanks for the video, hitting the gym straight from this monday 18-11-2024 and will try my the best to maintain discipline as being a student and for sure i will let you know about that. Thanks again for this video kudos to your efforts.
Vegetarian diet can also be balanced…but you are right in the sense that the kind of food that most vegetarian people eat in india is too heavy in carb and deficient in protein
I absolutely thank to such videos and eye opening things like this. Really it helps a lot to rethink on your choices. Not eating Cold drinks , chips , sugar doesn't mean u have healthy duet & loose weight. It's simple It's about how much calories u eat & how much calories u burn in a day , track ur calories intake on healthyfiy app , and also there are settings it will suggest what ur calories should be for ur weight loss goal , also eating required protein is very important, stop eating lots of carb & add protein , eat animal based protein curd , paneer , eggs , milk ,chicken, fish , Mutton. These r highest quality superior protein, animal based protein is always 10 times superior than plant based protein ..

When I was 20 years old. I look like 30-year-old guy, but now I'm close to 30 years old. But now I look like 21. Why this has happened is because I changed my lifestyle and added physical activity in my life I also eat plenty of protein in my diet not as a supplement. Lost 30 kg in a year then remain at the same 60 kgs for years.

don't go too hard on your calorie deficit, make sure it doesn't exceed 1000 cals at max(including extra workouts and all of that), if you are 85 kgs your daily cal requirements should be around 2500, eating 1500 cals and moreover working out will put you at a cal deficit of around 1500-1700, this is very bad as it will result in your metabolism shutting down and your body will basically go into survival mode, you might loose some weight in the beginning but then it will completely stop, and if that happens no matter what you do your body will not loose fat. Make sure you count your calories, eat plenty of proteins(about 1gm per kg of body weight is enough), and don't go more than 500 cals deficit(if your maintenance is 2500, eat 2000). There is a lot more that goes into how your body responds to you not eating enough, but these are the basics. The biggest thing to remember is it is a marathon, not a race, give it time, slow weight loss is maintainable, fast weight loss isn't.
Way too unrealistic for sustainability, try to ease into the routine, if you drop your calories this fast, its gonna come right up. try to lose about 0.5 to 1 % of body weight per week and check out Renaissance periodization fat loss guide. It wonderful

It doesn't matter because he already mentioned that we all think about attractiveness but don't say it out loud. Being fat is not a problem But staying fat is definitely a problem U can surely pass a suggestion to get fit but mocking and commenting a person due to his/her weight is not at all right..
Lift weights. High volume, low weight. Instead of 20 reps of 25 kg, do 100 reps of 15kg. The builds endurance, stamina. Leads to high sweating, gives body reason to assign fat expenditure in the body. Also, eat more proteins. 6 months.
Understand a simple fact belly fat in India is the last fat storage our body deplete after it has depleted all the other fat sources.. We have had multiple famine so our body have designed itself to be saved.. So develop each and every muscle of your body.. so that eventually the muscle eventually increases your metabolism. Do a lot of cardio workout.. it increases oxygen intake and helps in digestion of the stored fat.. battle rope will help you a lot.. it helped me .. also understand your body limit there is a cardiac attack risk with cardio workout Then as kbd.mex111 said increase repetition.. What worked for me is I started with a lower wt high rep to High wt low rep set.. Eg for arm So I do 40 rep of 7.5 kg set, then 20 rep of 12.5 set, then 10 rep of 17.5 and 10 rep of 20kg .. so on and so forth

Great work Mohak. Can you also research and make video about inflammation. Many people who are trying to loose weight, watching their food intake still are not able to and finally give up. Recently inflammation is trending reason for this, but there is no solution found online.

Simple answer, vegetarianism. Here, I said it. Because to have a good diet being a vegetarian, you need to take supplements, protein powders etc. I'm from a non vegetarian family. But while growing up, non veg was only for once or twice a week. It was intense religious drama of you can't eat non veg on Sunday, Tuesday & Thursday. Everyone was fat in my family with my parents having diabetes, high cholesterol etc. When I moved back to my hometown after completing my college, I became hyper agressive and forced everyone to change the diet. I even used to throw the garbage high carb vegetarian food even when my mum had put so much effort to cook it. Due to my force, my family started a low carb, high protein diet. The result, my parents don't have diabetes and high cholesterol anymore. My dad lost hi paunch. My mum lost weight. Even now, they aren't happy due to their brainwashed religious mindset but they're living much healthier lives.
The obesity rate is highest in South India, where the majority of the population is non-vegetarian, and lowest in North India (except for Punjab and Haryana), which is predominantly vegetarian. Your point is incorrect and stems from a lack of understanding. A balanced vegetarian diet is certainly healthy. In fact any balanced diet can be healthy, don't blame vegetarianism for obesity; blame your lack of understanding and ignorance for coming to such foolish conclusions.
@@Shadowcat561 Sure. Go for annual health checkups every year and you'll know. I'm a doctor. I've seen thousands of patients to know the fact that vegetarians who don't take supplements are often malnourished. Even internal medicine books from International publications specifically state about this problems that the Indian community faces. Also, you comment that "I eat vegetarian food but I'm still slim" lacks logic. It's like saying "I smoke but I don't have lung cancer". Sure, but someone who smokes isn't healthy.
@@unmined3247 Yeah. I lack understanding. I'm a doctor and have seen thousands of patients and have seen a pattern where vegetarians who don't take supplements are usually malnourished. i also gained weight like 67kg withing few yrs cause i have thyroid {i stopped walking due to rainy season and due to that eventually i stopped}... and my doctor told me again to start walking (cause i stopped walking for apparently no reason)... so started my morning walk in feb this year, before this year i used to walk in evening after work but since i am unemployed i thought i should try in the morning (cause i was waking up in 11 or 12 noon, my schedule was really bad) it was also due to my evening tuition time clash. anyhoo, thank god it all happened, cause when i started my morning walks, i was feeling really refreshed and mentally good. also i was taking a huge step by going in the morning cause i am not morning person, but walking in the morning is the best thing i discovered.
i checked my weight last month, and it was 59kg, and i felt really happy.... and kinda confident. and i really want to be confident and healthy, and kinda attractive too, earlier i was always felt ugly and undesirable. now i feel little less ugly and little less undesirable.
i realized the power of walking daily... i started with 3000 steps and now i am doing 7000steps daily with yoga...
i run 10 km every morning, for over 2 years 💀💀💀
still gained 10 kg weight, instead of losing 💀💀💀
I was conscious of how my body looked before going to college so I changed my diet.
I wasn't that overweight but by changing the diet I lost more than 9 kgs in 2 months.
And to be honest it not only changed my physical appearance but also made me much more energetic.
I feel like being a happier person than before.

how did u change your diet? what did you did with your diet?
- High Carbohydrate diet.
- Low protein.
- No fitness culture.
- No *casual walking* culture.
Jab hafte mei 1 baar se zada non veg khane ko bolta hu toh mota ho jayega bolke nhi khane dete aur Protein Powder aur Creatine ka naam sunte hi har parents sochne lagte hai ki inn sab mei steroids hi honge, I agree kuch brands bekar hai aur wo hamari parwah karte hai but Mai Balanced diet ke liye Protein intake badhana chahta hu toh sunne ko mila ki "jabse gym jaane laga hai tabse protein protein bahut karta hai" 😞
No walking space for the culture lol
Mere Ghar ka diet bigada hua hai, mai unhe explain karte karte thak gaya, mujhe kya karna chahiye koi suggest Karo.
Also genetics.
Bhai perfect summary of the main causes.
Solution is simple:
---> Introduction of resistance training.

Correct
Basically it bolis down to these things :
1. Unhealthy Diet and Lifestyle (the average Indian diet is too high in carbs and fat and severely lacking in protein)
2. Stress from everyday studies and work
3. Little to no culture of physical fitness or exercise.
4. Lack of knowledge and awareness about the correct diet and what to eat.
5. Overconsumption & Overeating. (We Indians just eat way too much in general whether it is in our everyday lives or eating unnecessarily during festivals)
6. General ignorance and chalta hai attitude.
That stress thing is overrated. Most people are stressed. It's more on our diet and active lifestyle
@parthkhanolkar7916 Yeah I kinda agree with you but the thing is, people in India have very little time for themselves, especially if they're adults, so they generally choose to ignore healthy eating altogether.
Point 6 exists everywhere.

Happy for you man...

one of the major points ignored here is financial status. We need to bring back the diverse meat sources, like varieties of native poultry, and goats, and fishes, instead of just the fasted cultured breed.
very well said... facts 💯

I believe a poor person can maintain a 70% balanced diet aswell but I agree with your points about the difference between rich and poor in India, mostly uppermost rich and farmers are the only ones who are getting foods which are good to health.

These r highest quality superior protein, animal based protein is always 10 times superior than plant based protein ..

don't go too hard on your calorie deficit, make sure it doesn't exceed 1000 cals at max(including extra workouts and all of that), if you are 85 kgs your daily cal requirements should be around 2500, eating 1500 cals and moreover working out will put you at a cal deficit of around 1500-1700, this is very bad as it will result in your metabolism shutting down and your body will basically go into survival mode, you might loose some weight in the beginning but then it will completely stop, and if that happens no matter what you do your body will not loose fat.

For the past few years rumours have been in the market around the protien
Now tell me people eat chicken mutton for protein ( in reality it's mainly for the taste only)
But from where did mutton got protein
. Mutton is a harbivorus animal
It mostly eat green leaves .
There are many senior citizens
Who are fit and fine and never even touched any meat product in their life.
Even I am from a vegetarian family
But I don't have any difficulty
. Sometimes our desire to consume meat disguises itself as protein deficiency

You many people do you see doing yoga around you?
@@sk.aminuddin1948 You need to learn first what Yoga means, people nowadays think yoga means different asana/posture which is not true. Yoga is a holistic concept which includes physical wellness, meditation, spiritual wellness, satvik diet, abstaining from addictive substances etc. And yes it's true,if you follow yogic principles you will become fit no doubt.
Yoga is meant for improving posture. To combat obesity, the European concept called "Gym" is the go to.
Absolutely loved this video! You’ve nailed it with the reasons behind why so many of us struggle with weight gain and, more importantly, how to manage it realistically. Very very important topic of the vidio 👍👍👍
Being fat is not a problem
But staying fat is definitely a problem
U can surely pass a suggestion to get fit but mocking and commenting a person due to his/her weight is not at all right..
Once My weight was 90kg. But doing brisk walk for 7km and proper diet plan helped me lose weight to 74kg...
How long did it take you to lose that much weight?
@jaskiratsingh3166 3month
i run 10 km every morning since 1.5 years, gained 10 kg 💀💀💀
@@realracing3specter295Bro go for calorie deficit diet plan. first check your BMR than plan your calorie intake accordingly..
I'm glad 😌 I lost 16 kgs 76 > 60 diet + gym
I have belly fat problem. But I will try anything to get rid of it.
Lift weights. High volume, low weight. Instead of 20 reps of 25 kg, do 100 reps of 15kg.
The builds endurance, stamina. Leads to high sweating, gives body reason to assign fat expenditure in the body.
Also, eat more proteins. 6 months.
Play football
Understand a simple fact belly fat in India is the last fat storage our body deplete after it has depleted all the other fat sources..
We have had multiple famine so our body have designed itself to be saved..
So develop each and every muscle of your body.. so that eventually the muscle eventually increases your metabolism.
Do a lot of cardio workout.. it increases oxygen intake and helps in digestion of the stored fat.. battle rope will help you a lot.. it helped me .. also understand your body limit there is a cardiac attack risk with cardio workout
Then as kbd.mex111 said increase repetition..
What worked for me is I started with a lower wt high rep to High wt low rep set..
Eg for arm So I do 40 rep of 7.5 kg set, then 20 rep of 12.5 set, then 10 rep of 17.5 and 10 rep of 20kg .. so on and so forth
Currently 19 M was weighing 70KG and 5'7" a little bit overweight and i started cycling and running a few days ago
Did 100km cycling within 5 days and 20km running within 3 days total 8 days
Not having change in a diet
But will do as soon as i loose some weight
Because i eat only home made food not even processed healthy food
Dont like sweetened food so i rather eat some vegetables or fruits
Also bought a rental subscription of bicycling
Day 1 : 7 km run
Day 2 : 9 km run
Day 3 : 2 km run + 7km cycling
Day 4 : 16km cycling
Day 5 : 18km cycling
Day 6 : 23km cycling
Day 7 : 30km cycling
Currently not focused on any protien intake as i am still building habit of excercising
Great work Mohak. Can you also research and make video about inflammation. Many people who are trying to loose weight, watching their food intake still are not able to and finally give up. Recently inflammation is trending reason for this, but there is no solution found online.
I don't why there is same feeling still now that a good body means you are fit😂. Many body fit person can't even run a mile properly without huffing and puffing😂. Don't go for body fit be really fit. Obviously a good body helps u build confidence but a fit body helps u live longer
You forced them to eat non veg??? How?
I eat vegetarian food but I am still slim
But hey, what do I know? I don't understand and I am ignorant while people whose source of education is social media are way more educated and qualified than me.
Because we eat a lot of carbs and stay home watching reels and shorts not going outdoors..
Also our gene is evolved to store carbs for calamities and we get fat...😢😢
You can easily overcome it though by replacing some carbs with protein
@@parthkhanolkar7916 i am trying really hard for it
As a medico I can tell that each and every detail is correct to best of my knowledge. Kudos to Mohak and his research team.
Thank God finally
someone discussing this topic.
well if the things get to you , you should work on them and not cry about it and let your self confidence take a dive. atleast try controlling the things you can like your fitness.
