No ECC memory = NOGO! No way I would trust a system with long-term storage if it doesn't have ECC memory.

Unless you’re writing tons of data and making multiple changes to the to the same files at the same time ECC is pretty much pointless. Doesn’t hurt to have but is definitely not mandatory specifically on a system running ddr5.
