Legendary video, and just saved my Smart Drive machine. Got to the motor from the bottom, had it off in two seconds, got the accumulated fluff bundle out and it's back to working an absolute treat! I can hear it happily completing another load as I write this. Hats off sir!
Wow, This guy is definitely an expert.. So many important tips and detailed insight. My friends washer stopped draining, I took a look at it and watched several videos to familiarize myself with this washer, this is by far the best video on Fisher & Paykel washers. When I first looked at the washer I thought it was a value engineered POS but as I started to take it apart I was really impressed with the engineering that went into the design of this machine. I don't know how reliable these machines are over the long term but they are fantastic to work on, you can take the whole thing apart with a phillips screw driver. When I saw that you could remove the water pump without the need for tools I wanted to send the engineering team a case of beer! Thanks for making this video!

I was able to follow this video no worries and pulled out a wad of fluff that was blocking the pump. Easy fix, all up and running again. Your video saved us from an expensive call-out fee! Thank you!!
Awesome, did this today and found a rubber band wrapped around the pump also a pair of scissors under the agitator I took out of the machine. So easy and also so satisfying to fix it myself. Thanks so much.

Brilliant. Just worked like magic. Dogs bed broke open and carded wool went everywhere. After watching this, I got to the pump and found wool around it. Cleared it and back working. Don’t have to resort to the scrubbing board, copper and wringer. Thank you.
Thank you so much for your valuable information. My son arrived today and read what you had spoken about and shown us and he has fixed it all. I am so grateful. Yours sincerely, Ruth Reid
Thanks for the excellent repair tutorial. This and your "from the top" video helped me repair the unfortunate aftermath of trying to launder an old bath mat, which I promise to never do again!
Hi, Dan... great advice! 1 x lolly pop stick, with 1 x cable tie, hiding in the secondary chamber, waiting to sabotage things later and all is good with our machine. Nowhere near as awkward as that time a stray 1" screw ring-cut the washing machine bowl in half... now that was nearly a career ending event with the Wee Wifey! Thank you!
Thankyou so much for posting this video! My machine stopped draining after the wash cycle this morning. Your instructions helped me to determine the cause of the problem and fix it! Thankfully it was just something wrapped around the fan, that once removed meant the pump could work again!
Thank you so much!!! Your instructions were so clear and helpful. It was a rubber band blocking mine. Really relieved I didn’t have to call a repair person during lockdown.
Thanks so much for your informative video, really appreciate it! My machine started smelling foul and the wash water was filthy. Then the pump stopped, should have seen the warning signs! My hubby was away so drained my machine by hand and tipped it up with a towel behind it so I didn't dent the gib. As feared, a cotton bud and accumulated wet fabric fibres had blocked the pump. Saved me on a weekend, thanks again! A++++!
Thanks so much for posting this guide as well as the fault code videos. Great work! With the advice you have posted I was able to remove and test the pump on my machine and unfortunately discovered the pump was overheating. It looks like it needs replacing, with a resistance of 27-28ohms while warm. Much appreciated!!
Thank you so much for this detailed and well explained video. I followed it and found a small sock stuck in the chamber. I was chuffed to get the washing machine up and running again. You also saved me a couple oh hundred dollars as well. You are a champion, thank you again.
Awesome useful explainer . Cleared drain of metal jetsom . cleaned bowl etc . missus is really happy and on her 3rd load of washing this morning ... brilliant
Thanks so much. our machine has been running funny for a few months. today it stopped on fault code 37. pump would run but gave the hot smell and would trip on over heat. pulled the pump and it had 33 ohms when was hot to touch and 28 ohms cold. replaced it with a pump I got from an old machine, it had 33 ohms cold. then watched your other vids and gave the machine a birthday and clean. we feel like we have a new machine now. ill ring you tomorrow to give you some beer money. thanks so much.
Thank you so much for the video saved me soo much money on a new machine or repairs. Your video was easy to follow as soon as I lifted up the washing machine I seen a sandwich bag twisted around my fan on the pump 🫣 machine is now working like new again.
My French pump failed about 2 years ago and I could only get that replacement you demonstrate at the end. And today it jammed full of grit underneath the impeller exactly as you warned. Also the replacement doesn't have the plastic lug/clip retainer. The replacement pump is on Trade Me for $75. I see that it includes a warning "Does not suit environments where high amounts of sand can build up in the pump e.g Kindergartens." I have explained this to my wife so hopefully she doesn't bork it a third time.
Thank you sooo much for an easy to follow video. Many RUclips videos are not videos, more like a talk show and before they get to the point they start with the weather forecast and end up with what their dog had for breakfast. Yours is so to the point and even when you are just talking you are unloading heaps of stats and valuable experience tips. I was ready to get a new machine when I saw this video. My pump had 29 Ohms on the coil and longer I held my Fluke meter on it it would drop to 28.3 Ohm. Trusted your information (33 Ohm specs) and went to get a new one for $74. I put it in and got my machine back alive and running. Did not find any blockage (with your easy method) so wasn't sure why the pump got faulty. Then during the first full cycle wash I noticed it got stuck in first rinse cycle (two orange and one red light on the dash). It would kick out the water and start spinning and spraying and draining again but it would not switch to the next cycle. It would repeat this forever unless I press the forward button to go to the next rinsing cycle (one orange and one red light). After this it would complete rinsing and finish spinning and it would turn off as it should. So I guess there is a problem with the controller and maybe that is why the drain pump paid the price (with my wallet). Now when we hear the rinse starting and the drain pump starts making that cavitation noise after the first rinse we go to the machine and manually switch to the next rinsing cycle. I just watched your long way cleaning the pump from the top and will try that one too but already we are happy to use it like this as the machine is really good and served us for years trouble free. Thanks heaps again for all the info and great video. Cheers, Peter
What is your model number? If it is draining out to the point of cavitating then there is probably no need to take the inner bowl out. If you leave it long enough it should eventually bring up a code, may take 8-9 + retries though. It does do a spray rinse as the first rinse depending on what settings are programmed, to save water. have you left it for 10-15min to see if it goes on to the second rinse? If it is stopping spinning to refill ,then drain its usually a balance problem, but then it wouldn't do the rest of the cycle no problem.
Thanks so much for your video as I was sure my 13 year old machine was history when I heard the humming noise and smelt the hot electrical smell while the pump was completely jammed. I thought it likely needed expensive repairs which I couldn't justify on such an old machine. But before giving up on the machine I googled the symptoms which lead straight to your video. I found the pump was blocked by a cleaning cloth. I was surprised to get a reading 36 ohms at the pumps contacts so I refitted the pump and it's working perfectly. I can't work out why the pump is still working despite the hot electrical burning smell. Thanks for saving me buying a new machine and I'm very grateful you took the time to make this video
The pump relies on the fan at the bottom to keep it cool, so when its jammed it will overheat until its safety overheat cuts out. If you are lucky and have stopped it before trying too many times it wont have done any damage.
@@motrepairs thanks so much for the reply. This time I must have been lucky as I started a load of washing and forgot about the machine. I investigated when the house seemed too quiet! I quickly cut the power at the wall when I heard the humming which sounded the same hum I've heard for the old brushed motors. When one of those old motors jam the armature can quickly burn out
The motor connector should have a fuse located behind the top panel. It'll blow if the motor is overheating to prevent damage. I have this fisher & paykel washer as well and it has a fuse. Mine currently blew during the drain cycle so I have to take a look at the drain pump to see if it's clogged.
@@stealthxg5045 What country are you in? The AUs/NZ machines have fuses soldered on to the PCB but usually if they are blown then other parts of the PCB are damaged as well. Im not aware of any pump only fuses so it may be only in your country.
@@motrepairs I'm in the US. My model is the GWL11. There's a fuse connector on the pump line that tells you what fuse to use. I installed a new fuse as my other burnt out and ran a pump motor test. There's a burning smell coming from it, I ordered a new pump motor and hopefully it'll resolve the issue. I've already disassembled the washer to check from blockage, even used a shop vac on the drain hose, but nothing. The washer is about 20 years old so....
Thankyou so much bro I did exactly this and found that it was a little paper pin that blocked the water pump now the machines working perfectly again, many thanks
Thank you so much, this video was very useful. Found my silver necklace wrapped around the pump. Have my necklace back that I lost three months ago and your video has saved me an $100 service fee. Many thanks for making the video.

Thank you once again, two months ago I had to clean out my longhaired black cats fur from the top. This time he went one better and I had to do both top and bottom. No mean feat when I have a buggered hip and back. I try hard to get rid of excess fur before I wash, but your tutorial is so easy to understand. 👍🤗😻
Thanks for your video. Very helpful getting our machine running after 3 years in storage. Pump had stopped working but just needed a quick turn and lightly lube the bearings. Now works like it always did. Thankyou.😂
So well described! Thankyou ! It fixed mine too. Threads of cotton were wound together like twisted rope caused the obstruction. Thankyou again! I love this older style F&P.
Many thanks for posting this video. I have a WA80T65GW1 and it stopped with error 41, bailed the water (it was getting sticky, phew) and turned it on it's side, pump was a newer one, had a creamy coloured rubber elbow connector, 3 screws, popped the elbow connector and a 20cm length of fluffy crap was visible, after a short struggle and grunt, remove, clean of excessive water, righted the unit, plugged in, rinse/spin cycle, "Bob is your uncle!" Thanks for giving me the courage to try this myself, my wallet is significantly better off 🙂
Yip, perfect video. Longest part of our repair was emptying the water out! Easy to follow this video - I even tested resistance which was still at 33ohms. Thanks so much 😊
Thank you so much !! for saving us a labor and repair bill with this easy to follow video. The lodged bread bag clip was the culprit. I was also happy to clean the whole inside as well.
Glad I could help. Funny story I used to collect bread bag clips for a strange reason as a kid, and blocked mums washing machine. The guy who came and fixed it was one of the techs who trained me years later.
Thanks for the videos. I've watched 4 of them. Make things a lot easier when you know what to and understand how the machine works. Now I've clean the pump and bowl the next job will be to replace the noisy bearings.
Good morning from the U.S. My washer stopped during the draining cycle and was playing the melody. I did not know what that meant, so I powered my machine off and unplugged it to reset it. When I tried to run the drain cycle again it did the beeping. That is when I came to RUclips to see what was going on. I found your video and did the diagnostic. It gave me code 37. I bailed the water out and followed your infections to remove the pump and check for blockage, it was dripping a small amount of water. I cleaned it out as described and put the pump back in to test it, but I went ahead and ordered a new pump. It still wouldn’t empty. When new part arrived I put it in, also installed the inline fuse on the brown wire in control panel. I cycled it to drain but it only recirculated the water. I then completely disassembled the tub and pulled the filter from the bottom of the tub to see if there was something there. There was nothing. I watched more videos and it appeared that maybe the diverter was the problem. I pulled it off and cleaned it but there was nothing there. I ordered a new diverter and installed it. When I cycled the drain, it drained a little bit but then it just started the recirculation and spin cycle but would not drain. Please help. I love this machine and the technicians at the local appliance store do not give me confidence in their ability to repair my unit because when I showed them the diverter they didn’t recognize it and asked if it was for a dishwasher. I am going to go through the whole cleaning and checking process again for a blockage but I feel like there is a different problem. Code is still 37. Thanks for your help!!
If you leave the wires unplugged from the diverter valve and put it on drain will it drain? If no still recirculates then there is a problem with the diverter valve jammed or not sealing or installed backwards maybe?. If yes drains ok with no recirculating then the controller could be damaged from moisture in the diverter and powering up the diverter all the time, switching it to recirculate mode. in which case would need ne controller and diverter (unless you can find someone to replace check if the diverter triac on the controller is shorted and solder a new one on. People who can repair PCB's are harder to find then appliance technicians though!)
Thank you for this incredible advice. I was about to go out and spend $1500 on a new machine tomorrow but found a hair ribbon caught around the pump. The only issue I had was not being exactly sure of which clip to lift to remove the pump, but soon sorted that out.
Awesome advice that has been so helpful! My machine is now spinning again. Our problem was the black/green cable wasn’t connected for some reason, so didn’t have to remove the pump. Just had to plug it in. Very helpful!!!
The black/green wire is an Earth wire, while it is important for safety it wont stop the pump going. If the pump is starting to fail it may run for a few minutes before overheating and stopping for a while until it cools down to reset, so keep an eye on it and if it is stopping and/or smelling hot you will need a new pump.
@@motrepairs thanks heaps for your advice. Will keep an eye out for this. This fisher and paykel machine has been so good to us. Hope you and your family are well and safe. God bless
I actually bought a Fisher and Paykel lint filter which fits inside the agitator drive under the top cap which some use for the softener solution and find it filters a ton of lint from the machine. It is quite expensive at $50 but worth every cent!! As a matter of fact, I have stopped using the softener because I find it scums up the machine after a period of use and I don't notice anything untoward when I do my washing.
Thank you so much Dan from Motueka Appliance repairs. Your vid was so easy to follow and I managed to do all by myself and I am certainly not good at this sort of thing. Great video mate, I was pretty sure it was my pump that wasn't working properly in that it would pump a bit then stop and if I left it a while it would pump again, but the part that helped me the most was when you mentioned if it's below 30 Ohms it is probably overheating and that's why it's not working properly, I checked the Ohms after it cooled down which took a long time it was so bloody hot and it was on 29 Ohms so I put in a new pump and it's working again but now it's working again after 4 washes another problem appeared, now when it goes through the rinse cycle and finishes instead of refilling for the final rinse it's just repeating the spin rinse cycle, ah well I guess that's life now I'll have to find a video to fix that, but thanks your video was really helpful! Cheers
That is usually an indication of goin gout of balance, if will fill back up to try and redistribute the clothes. If its just started happening and if you have one of the models that has a physical Out Of Balance lever make sure the machine is not leaning back or to the right too much, level of slightly forward is best.
@@motrepairs Thanks mate I don't know what I did but it's working okay again, I accidently hit the wrong button when I was after an error code and I think I might have changed some configuration or something so I pressed what I had earlier in the opposite direction and it's working but I'm not sure if that was the problem, you learn by your mistakes so if I need to do anything like that in the future I'll be more careful, thanks again mate! Cheers Robert.
Great instructions, hair clip was jamming the pump. I snapped the plastic retaining clip when removing the pump: should I be looking to buy a new part?
Very helpful video. Found 2 bra wires and $1, no more noise and pumping perfectly. Does this machine have a waterlevel pressure indicator as my high water level is now too high.
Yes there is a water level sensor build into the main control board. The control board does a calibration every time it is turned on, but it is common for water level to end up a bit low as they age (better then going high and overfilling I guess) Unfortunately there is no way to adjust this without replacing the controller.
Dan the Man !!!!! thank you Brother i just did it took 5 to 10 minutes now i might give my wahine a fake invoice for a 40$ fix hahaha i just gained atleast 100 brownie points, all the best for 2023 you and your whanau, have a safe and enjoyable Xmas and New Years Dan.
The resistance test you recommended we do was a little unclear to me where we touch our probes to on the pump and even how to do this with my multimeter. I gathered from online that resistance has the Ohm symbol.
If you are smelling hot/burning smell and there is nothing in the pump then there is a 95% chance it is the pump, so you could go ahead and get a new one, otherwise might be best to find a repair company that knows Fisher & Paykel machines.
@@motrepairs no burning smell...just machine has refused to advance from wash cycle to the rinse and spin cycle and has stopped draining as of last night. However, I am in the US and people I have talked to here have never heard of this brand, even when at our local appliance stores! But I love my washer!
@@kristinaniemiec5505 Sorry I may have been getting your comment mixed up with another one. Have a look at this video on how to check fault codes: ruclips.net/video/YbpLNMK2w08/видео.html If its a pump problem you will have a code 37, but before you go further you want to make sure there isn't something else that is stopping the controller.
My GW612 symptoms are slightly different. It will pump out most of the water but not quite enough then the pump stops and it starts to spin. I can hear the water level interfering with the rotating bowl. The pump doesn't operate to pump out the water expelled by the spinning. I figure it's either the worn pump overheating as you described OR it's a faulty water pressure sensor telling the computer the water level is low enough to spin when it isn't quite low enough. I presume the water pressure sensor is part of the control unit so would necessitate replacing the controller? I will try testing the resistance at the pump but would be interested in your thoughts.
Fantastically clear guide! My pump had same overheating symptoms - stopped/started every 20 or so minutes, smelled "burnt", measured 22 ohms. But NO blockage to be found! Should I still change the pump? or is there another accessible spot to check if a blockage is elsewhere?
If resistance is below 31 ohms then yes need to replace it or it will burn out fully and possibly damage the control board. There may not be a blockage it may just be a failing pump.
Thank you SO much! And on my first day off from Weta Workshop in weeks too! Fist sign was that familiar old "roasting copper-coil-lacquer" smell! ...any thoughts on the best place likely to carry one of these pumps in Wellington?
I HAVE an "EcoSmart" and it DOES have an agitator. Maybe I misunderstood. Anyway, it's showing a code 37. I also heard a piece of plastic fall on the floor behind the machine when I was opening the cover over the tub. I wish I vould send you a picture. I can't figure out where it goes!
The drain hose come with the attached wiring harness, so it isn't simple to replace. Is the split outside the machine or inside? If it is outside you can cut the damaged part off and fit an extension
If it cuts out after not completely emptying and I can pause it for about 10 minutes it will go again. It has good pressure when it is running. Would cleaning it out help It's 18 yo machine so wondered the best place to get a pump. Can u get 2nd hand ones or reconditioned. I see they sre about 80 to 100 bucks. I alredy just cleaned the rpu sensor contacts and that got rid of the fault code. But then the pump started to overheat after just fixing that problem . Maybe when I had machine on side it stuffed the pump ? Seems a coincidence. It's hard to know if worth spending $100 on an old machine. Many thanks
Hi … I’ve gone through and cleaned the machine from the top and bottom methods … thanks really informative … not sure where I’ve gone wrong ? After the bottom clean out It’s now got a leak ? Any troubleshooting information on where I’ve gone wrong ?
Can you see where it is leaking from? Its possible the black seal around the shaft could leak if you were too rough around it but I've never had that happen before.
@@motrepairs … it was all good from the top (no leak however machine not draining ) so I tried accessing from underneath … however when testing it’s got a leak … it’s clicked into place, doesn’t wobble, connected the leads … tried that all again to make sure … however still has a leak ?
Are you meaning swapping the impeller from the original style pump to the new one? I haven't actually tried, but it wouldn't help things at all. The problems with the new pumps getting blocked with sand/pebbles is due to the pump body and seal design not the impeller.
Great video. I've just checked my drain pump. Its clean and does pump. On draining though it stops with the tub roughly 1/4 filled and the washing machine does not progress to rinse. Similar issue going from rinse to spin. Intermittently we get an error messages 37 and 248. To advance we turn off at the wall for 10mins, then progress it manually to the next stage. Tearing our hair out trying to fix this, can't help but think its simple. Any ideas?
Sounds like the pump is starting to overheat, there is a safety cutout on the pump which cuts on to save the pump burning out and damaging the controller. If you turn off the power and touch the pump right after it stops you will probably find that it is too hot to touch. Be careful as the pump can burn out and do expensive damage if you keep pushing it so best to get a new pump as soon as possible.
@Montueka Appliance Repairs Thanks for this information, I was able to change out my non-functioning drain pump (the French model) and found a "new" one on Ebay, also French. I installed it without difficulty following your great instructions! It is working well to drain the water, no hesitations and intermittence as the old pump had been doing. However, I now have a small puddle of water forming on the floor which seems to occur during the drain cycle and is right below the pump. Did I do something wrong? (I turned it fully to engage the "click" as you instruct) (The "new" pump was $90) Again, thank you for your great videos!
If you didn't clip the pump in properly then I would expect it to leak through the full cycle not just the drain. If it is a second hand pump I would guess the seal is leaking past the pump shaft. You can unscrew the pump impeller then lift the seal out and pack the centre with grease, but that is usually only a temporary repair.

Awesome video thanks, I had a lollipop stick blocking the pump from spinning, never would have fixed it without your video. Thank you.
Yes that's far too low.
Thank you so much for this detailed and well explained video. I followed it and found a small sock stuck in the chamber. I was chuffed to get the washing machine up and running again. You also saved me a couple oh hundred dollars as well. You are a champion, thank you again.
Superb explanation. A rare thing on RUclips. Thanks. Made it a really easy job.
Your Welcome. Yes when the pumps get hot the resistance rises, so if its low it can look ok, as you discovered.
Thank you so much for the video saved me soo much money on a new machine or repairs. Your video was easy to follow as soon as I lifted up the washing machine I seen a sandwich bag twisted around my fan on the pump 🫣 machine is now working like new again.
Thank you so much - very clear instructions. For those who are not at all “handy” this was easy to follow and do. Problem fixed.
Cheers,
Peter
Its amazing what things end up in the pump some times, it obviously has been sitting in the bottom for a while then!
This helped me out heaps, turned out I had a dry baby wipe wrapped around the motor. Saved the day, thank you.
Bro thankyou so much showing me how to clean out the pump from up top I might not of found the problem with the washing machine. After cleaning it out and cleaning the machine it's just like new. Cheers Terry
I have a WA80T65GW1 and it stopped with error 41, bailed the water (it was getting sticky, phew) and turned it on it's side, pump was a newer one, had a creamy coloured rubber elbow connector, 3 screws, popped the elbow connector and a 20cm length of fluffy crap was visible, after a short struggle and grunt, remove, clean of excessive water, righted the unit, plugged in, rinse/spin cycle, "Bob is your uncle!" Thanks for giving me the courage to try this myself, my wallet is significantly better off 🙂
Yes the newer pumps are a little more difficult but I'm glad you got it sorted.
Thank you Sir. There was a small twig blocking the suction fan thingy 🙄. I forget the name lol . You are a life saver! Thanks again!
I actually found a video I filmed a while ago on doing the bearings, will hopefully get it edited and uploaded in the next week or two.
@@motrepairsI’d be very interested in seeing you do the bearings from a repairman’s perspective if you do decide to release the video.
Wow! Thankyou so much! Saves us so much money and time waiting for a technician to come out!!
Thank you so much for this fantastic video! Very proud I Managed to fix myself from this …ended up being years of fluff wound around outlet pump tan
Thanks so much!! This video helped us fix our washing machine. You’re really good at explaining step by step.
thanks from deepest Remuera !! helping my old parents - and amazingly have fixed a dryer and a washing machine in 2 weeks ..
Had to do both methods, worked a treat. Thanks for the video, so easy to follow and to the point.
For over 25 years use I've replaced two cold one hot water control solenoid & one read switch not bad reliability at all & it is still in use
THANK YOUUUUUUU literal life saver 🙌🏼 took me 5mins to fix the problem using your tutorial! Soooo simple
Thanks
I wish I found your video 1st time round. But nonetheless, feel confident at tackling drain pump tomorrow. Awesome video - Thankyou !
So happy this video is here, I just had to fix the drainage pump on the washing machine and had no idea how 😁
Thanks to this video I was able to unblock my washing machine pump! Thank you!
Great vid thank you! Very helpful, fixed the issue easily based on your clear and straightforward instructions.
I live out of town so you saved me a lot of money, thank you very much once again. As its holiday season, the appliance shop I deal with suggested I look on youtube, they must know how good your video is!!!! Happy New Year
That's great, Glad I could help.

Im happy to help for free, but if you want to there is a RUclips Super Thanks button (Little heart with $ in it that says thanks) that you can make a donation of your choosing, which I get 70% of
Great video mate, I was pretty sure it was my pump that wasn't working properly in that it would pump a bit then stop and if I left it a while it would pump again, but the part that helped me the most was when you mentioned if it's below 30 Ohms it is probably overheating and that's why it's not working properly, I checked the Ohms after it cooled down which took a long time it was so bloody hot and it was on 29 Ohms so I put in a new pump and it's working again but now it's working again after 4 washes another problem appeared, now when it goes through the rinse cycle and finishes instead of refilling for the final rinse it's just repeating the spin rinse cycle, ah well I guess that's life now I'll have to find a video to fix that, but thanks your video was really helpful!
Mate you saved me buying a new washing machine. Legend!
Cheers!
Just saved me from spending hundreds of dollars!! Thanks!! was a rubber band bracelet my daughter made.
Thank you for your video. Saved me a new washing machine.
Thank you so much Dan - really clear and helpful instruction!!
Thanks!
Great instructions, hair clip was jamming the pump. I snapped the plastic retaining clip when removing the pump: should I be looking to buy a new part?
Most of them are tight enough that I don't think it would come off on its own even with clip broken.
Thank you! I was able to get my machine back up and running :)
Just fixed my washing machine thanks to this video
Thank you so much, I was about to cry and give up and it seems to be working now
Glad I could help
Very helpful video. Found 2 bra wires and $1, no more noise and pumping perfectly. Does this machine have a waterlevel pressure indicator as my high water level is now too high.
Yes there is a water level sensor build into the main control board. The control board does a calibration every time it is turned on, but it is common for water level to end up a bit low as they age (better then going high and overfilling I guess) Unfortunately there is no way to adjust this without replacing the controller.
Thank you!!! Fixed it myself thanks to you!
Great video. Be sure to really empty tub first
Dan the Man !!!!! thank you Brother i just did it took 5 to 10 minutes now i might give my wahine a fake invoice for a 40$ fix hahaha i just gained atleast 100 brownie points, all the best for 2023 you and your whanau, have a safe and enjoyable Xmas and New Years Dan.
Have a look at this video on how to check fault codes: ruclips.net/video/YbpLNMK2w08/видео.html
If its a pump problem you will have a code 37, but before you go further you want to make sure there isn't something else that is stopping the controller.
Thanks legend
Thank you very much!
Thanks Dan, you just saved me about 100 bucks on a trradesman.
Do you have a video on how to replace drain pipe .. for some reason mine is leaking .. maybe pipe split .. 😢
What an absolute LEGEND! Thank you so much!!
Have you done a video on the flashing light error codes and the binary system for determining what the light combination means in term of a fault?
Try this video here: ruclips.net/video/YbpLNMK2w08/видео.html
My GW612 symptoms are slightly different. It will pump out most of the water but not quite enough then the pump stops and it starts to spin. I can hear the water level interfering with the rotating bowl. The pump doesn't operate to pump out the water expelled by the spinning. I figure it's either the worn pump overheating as you described OR it's a faulty water pressure sensor telling the computer the water level is low enough to spin when it isn't quite low enough. I presume the water pressure sensor is part of the control unit so would necessitate replacing the controller? I will try testing the resistance at the pump but would be interested in your thoughts.
explained so well... champion you are
Fantastically clear guide!
@@DocTinfoil Anyone who repairs FP will have them in stock, I don't know who in Wellington specifically sorry.
@@motrepairs Thanks again!! You ROCK!
Hi. Can you show a video of the changing newer type of drain pump
Have a look at this video here ruclips.net/video/A7HzHamYh7g/видео.html
I HAVE an "EcoSmart" and it DOES have an agitator. Maybe I misunderstood.
Anyway, it's showing a code 37.
I also heard a piece of plastic fall on the floor behind the machine when I was opening the cover over the tub. I wish I vould send you a picture. I can't figure out where it goes!
Thanks bro , amazing vid, easy to follow,
Awesome video! Could you please do a video on how to replace the drain hose please.
My hose has a split and looks really complicated replace. thanks
The drain hose come with the attached wiring harness, so it isn't simple to replace. Is the split outside the machine or inside? If it is outside you can cut the damaged part off and fit an extension
Thank so much for this great video. I was able to resolve the issue! 🎉
I take that back. Thankyou. I fixed mine!!
If it cuts out after not completely emptying and I can pause it for about 10 minutes it will go again. It has good pressure when it is running. Would cleaning it out help
It's 18 yo machine so wondered the best place to get a pump.
@@motrepairs could she have the pump sitting on a angle or not fully in?
@@motrepairs … it was all good from the top (no leak however machine not draining ) so I tried accessing from underneath … however when testing it’s got a leak … it’s clicked into place, doesn’t wobble, connected the leads … tried that all again to make sure … however still has a leak ?
I’m thinking it’s time to call the experts for them to look at it … thanks though this demo was helpful
Thanks, can you switch that dishwasher bladey thing with the old one?
Are you meaning swapping the impeller from the original style pump to the new one? I haven't actually tried, but it wouldn't help things at all. The problems with the new pumps getting blocked with sand/pebbles is due to the pump body and seal design not the impeller.
Thank you for posting thsi...it helped...again thank you
Thankyou very much for this video. Solved and fixed the problem.
@Montueka Appliance Repairs
Thanks for this information, I was able to change out my non-functioning drain pump (the French model) and found a "new" one on Ebay, also French.
