I have not thought about Hugo for at least a decade. What a sweet little troll he was. I didn’t actually know it was a tv-game. That sounds like an insane way to play
Dane here! I'm so happy people all across the world are enjoying our Hugo! Watching people struggle with the TV show version is one of my earliest memories. He had a toucan friend who'd whistle on certain letters as Hugo climbed a vine. I recently bought one of the home games, and I still have my Hugo teddy in my closet right now, actually.
Hell yeah, Hugo Danish company. I fucking loved the Hugo games as a kid. Later on, they made 3D platformers akin to Crash Bandicoot, and I remember liking them, though I'm sure they stink lol Hugo also gave me existential dread at the age of six or seven. Hugo has to rescue his kids from a witch or something, and a friend of mine said "oh no, I gotta rescue my kids because it's not like I can just get new ones, oh wait actually I can". And I said no you can't, because the new kids would be new people. And then I realized my parents would die one day and I'd never see them again, and I felt like I was falling backwards, and I grew pale. Thanks Hugo! EDIT: PS I SEE YOU IN THAT WHISTLE BOY SHIRT DAMN SNAZZY AS FUCK BRO
My mouth just dropped open when you brought out the zoombinies…I complete forgot that part of my life, and now it’s back. The waves of nostalgia I can feel them rushing over my bones and senses. I wish you had done more of that game.
OMG! I'm from Chile and we also had Hugo on national TV! I begged my mom so much to let me call in, but she'd said it was too expensive. On hindsight, I probably would have lost immediately anyways. And it probably was expensive too lol Great core childhood memory unlocked. Thanks, Yotam!
We had Hugo in Sweden too! Always with the frustration of playing on the landline phone... I've been looking for a project to do and this gave me the idea of making an intentionally bad phone-controller so I can play Hugo the way it was intended
Hugo (A jugar con Hugo!) was pretty fucking big here in Argentina. I remember being so jelous of the rich kids in Buenos Aires who could afford phone calls and play on TV. When computers became popular in the mid 2000's i got myself a CD with all the Hugo games and quickly realized it was all just a scam lol
Hugo the troll was the jam! I was a little kid that didn't understand a thing though. Never finished any of them. Still remember him bashing on my CRT monitor.
Hugo was pretty popular here in Finland, too! I remember often watching the TV game show and I also had a Hugo game on PC. That plane getting hit by lightning and turning into just the frame brought back some memories.
That Tzabar game brought back many memories of old terrible Israeli commercial games. There was the one for the Vered HaGalil chocolate where you had to help a cow jump over obstacles and stuff like the Chrome dinosaur game, and there was a game for that old cup pudding brand, Buddy, where I'm not even sure what you do in that one.
pro tip for Spit Wad Willy/Pea Shooting Pete: You can jump in the game. if you jump on the green guys they die. you can also shoot out the UFOs just like the sky bombs earlier in the game :) Its one of my fav games to this day.
I am exactly the same with Heroes (of Might and Magic) III. I adore the sound design, the music is so great at presenting the atmosphere. As a kid I played it a whole lot but never really had a good idea of what I was doing. Then I picked it back up in my late twenties and I started understanding the mechanics, but with that I lost the childlike curiously that I used to have when playing. So I'm leaving it in the past for now..
I absolutely loved Bumpy. I haven't beat it all, but I watched my older sister finish all levels. SkyRoads was also a favorite in my family. And the best breakout game was Arkanoid. I did finish that one as a kid.
I remember watching Hugo when i stayed in Mexico as a kid, good channel they also had 90s anime and a show dedicated to games almost like X-Play for kids.
Crazy thing is Hugo the Troll started off as a phone in computer game for a saturday morning kids show called "What's up doc?" (One that lasted a few hours with cartoons and sketches throughout)
We had Zoombinis installed on our school computers when I was ~8yrs old. They classed it as "educational", but every rainy day I'd be making pizzas and defeating the Fleens.
Dude 30 sec into the video and u have already named drop the two best retro computer games. I'm exacly the same. Gotta play that dk2 atleast once a decade and heroes is a yearly occurance for me.
If you're feeling disillusioned with gunfights in Apex and even if you're not feeling that you should try Hunt Showdown. It's the thinking man's cowboy/zombie extraction shooter. Also I remember playing a game when I was little that was fully hand drawn by a child and made into a game by her father, it was weird and inventive.
Anyone here ever play Hugo's Mystery Adventure ? there was also a game that came on those pc review magazine cds , where you were evil santa running around with a gun . I loved that game hahah
Broooooo. I played the shit out of Zoombinis in the computer lab at school in like, the 3rd grade. I never could remember the name of the game. Thank you!
I didn't realize " fill in games" had actual stand alone games and were not just a mini game on Bully 🤣🤣 Not mad about it tho, might have to look into them now.

@@LazyPillow Oh okay phew. As a mentally ill stuff myself I was like "Hey wait what oh come the fuck on not Yotam" but then I found this comment and okay good.

I never got a chance to play it =( And I remember being mad at the kids who couldnt press left or right in time. For me it looked like the easiest thing in the world but thinking about it now it was probably almost impossible and the game was probably rigged anyway lol But I still had good times watching it! Ps: Looking at the comments I never knew Hugo was so big around the world!

Yotam, i really enjoy this new form of content you’ve been doing. Not too suprising but you are just as funny as your animations : )
"A jugar con Hugo" and "KIto Pizza" were BIG in latinoamerican when I was a kid. Fucking Huge.
Hearing Yotam mention Sabra hummus gave me back Wisenheimer flashbacks
That reaction to the kiss in the first game had me dead
