I couldn't believe it at first... That's so much money for a product that isn't even that good quality! I'd never spend thousands of dollars for a bag, let alone a bag that isn't even working as well as a 30 dollar knock off

HOT TAKE: even if I could afford them, I could never justify spending so much money on "designer" items. You could get so many more practical things with that money. The brand logos are also really ugly to me. I personally don't get the appeal - maybe that comes from growing up in a low income family that struggled to get by.
Totally agree. Some would say designer items are for the suckers who are okay with wasting their money. The companies alone benefit from this transaction. Materialism is truly an epidemic of modern times because so many fall for it. It’s sad because placing a ridiculously higher value on luxury items induces robbery and corruption within communities in which money is deemed the most important goal in life.
I also agree the designer logos don't appeal to me at all. I wouldn't judge someone for buying one, especially if they can afford it. I just think what else could all that money go towards. I also grew up in a low income household.
So with the cartier love bracelet, the purpose behind it is that the person who loves you is supposed to put it on you and screw in the screws and then your not supposed to take it off, and just wear it everyday!
Not really sure how it’s “creepy” or “controlling” but I guess anything can be looked at negatively. It’s the same concept as a wedding band. It’s a sweet reminder of the someone who loves you. Wearing it everyday and allowing it to get worn and scuffed shows how it’s been with you (like the person who placed it) through your life.
People will say "I buy it because it's such high quality!" and sure, but there are many decent quality/inexpensive items that get the same job done. They're truly just paying for the label
@@Sofia-re3hj believe me , they do , in my neck of the woods, and its a piss off , because they pay with food stamps , drive fancy cars and buy expensive designer items.
This isn't a slight against Sierra whatsoever because I love her but does anyone else feel like they can't relate to most RUclipsrs at all anymore? They're always spending a ton of money on designer clothes and expensive makeup and I'm over here wondering how tf I'm gonna make my student loan payment this month. Like I said, nothing against Sierra or anyone who can afford nice things but damn I feel like I'm too poor to even watch RUclips anymore lol
ScalpelTron Keep your chin up. “Designer” things are just materials that often function exactly the same as a more reasonably priced alternative. Cars still get you to the same place, belts still just hold up your pants, and purses all just carry your stuff around. In my opinion, after a certain amount of money the rest is just flexing for what society has deemed worthy because it costs more pieces of paper. 💛💛
@@MoreCoffeePlease. Thanks! You are so right. I definitely agree... these designer items as just status symbols. It's just easy to get bummed out seeing others spend money so frivously when everyone I know is struggling to get by. But at least I have a roof over my head, food in my stomach and people who love me, so I'm grateful for that!
ScalpelTron I struggle sometimes too. And I’m under a mountain of student debt that no “just make your coffee and food at home and don’t have cable” plan can even touch. It’s tough. I just tell myself that the sun rises and shines the same for everyone and somehow that helps me keep it all in perspective. 😘
I think a lot of us can relate. And even if I had the money, I would never spend it on designer items, but that's just me. I'd rather buy books and dolls because that's what I enjoy and I feel like a get a lot bigger bang for my buck. And in my social circles, if I saw somebody sporting a lot of designer items, I'd wonder what kind of credit card debt they had going on.
Yeah for real, I prefer stuff that are functional and not put a dent in my savings, gotta worry about the future, 1000$ right now vs 3000$ 10 years in the future, you bet I'm saving for a roof over my head in the future
@@twinklybones8952 I forget what video it was but if you go back to the video of them at brandy Melville they had to disable the comments on that video because people are awful
The main issues with counterfeit / replica items is that there are zero safety standards or regulations during the manufacturing process and could use harmful materials or chemicals (some shoes leave chemical burns on feet, for example). Profits from these items support other illegal practices such as child labour, prostitution and even terrorism. Before paying for a 'designer dupe' be sure to google more info about how these items are manufactured so that you know exactly what you could be getting and where your money is going!
Actually, I have seen Videos of people coming from sweat-shops where the cheap stuff is made, as well as the high-end items, and all they say is different, is the box the put at the end of the assembly line. Yes, the materials may be different, the stitching has to be closer and more precise, but the machinery is the same and so is the rest of the factory including the underpaid workforce and the health/safety conditions. Something that is more expensive is not necessarily better quality and morlly better: It just has a much higher profit margin. I would totally pay more money for something that is labelled animal-friendly, vegan, natural and fair trade, bt not for something that just comes from a pricey label.
polyantha jones It's not about cheap vs designer, many designers even use the same factories as cheaper brands as you say. It's about counterfeit businesses around the world being a highly illegal practice with zero safety consideration for the consumer (counterfeit cosmetics are the worst offender but this still applies to fashion products) and where the money paid for the item goes.
Becky C but plenty of designer items are also manufactured w/o consideration for the ppl making it, etc so..... I mean most clothing products purchased everyday are bad for someone. If you’re gonna be particular about it then its best to stick to sustainable/ethical brands and not designer.
FALSE!!!! These “high end” companies don’t give a rats tail about people or their practices to the extent that they wouldn’t want to use bad chemicals because it’s bad for business if people are outwardly being harmed, lawsuits you know! For them it’s about profits and prestige. If people are duping their products that’s profits they’re losing and availability to the masses cheapens the prestige! There’s no “higher end” product than diamonds and if you’ve googled the things that are done to these people to produce diamonds, it would make your hair stand on end. YT: Blood Diamonds!
Sierra! Big fan of yours, I was watching QVC last night (yes LOL) and I need you to do a video of buying a full outfit from there! I just think it would be so much fun:)
The whole idea behind the love series of cartier is that you have to have your lover help you put it on, and that you never take it off. You can have the little key/screwdriver on a necklace that the other person wears. (I think it was also desgined to be unisex). Since the rise of it being fashionable they also offer a cuff version that you can put on by yourself. Despite the insane pricetag, I always thought it was a kinda sweet sentiment. Loved the video. :)
@Kristin Kery i get mad because it feels like a scam to me. Even Sierra said that the quality isn't that much better and I have the feeling that some people get stupid rich selling this stuff for absurd prices
Kristin Kery to me, it is a scam because these items cost so much more than they could possibly be worth. People just pay for the brand which if u think about it is kinda sad 😕
The brands that charge insane amounts but pay the people who actually make the products near to nothing make me very mad! Which is more brands than you'd think...

I want to know what world people live in that they can afford $700 to $2,000 on items that literally don’t matter or are needed. I can barely afford my groceries. Edit: because there are some hate comments coming out. DUH! We live on the same world....called Earth. A figure of speech is a great literary device...but apparently not great in this context. Also, I am lucky that I can actually afford my groceries, I was being hyperbolic...to make a point. I could care less if you want to waste $700 or more on designer items...you do you. But. The majority of Americans can’t actually afford this and ITS A PROBLEM. Don’t come at me, as if you’re self righteous, when there are millions of people who CAN’T afford their groceries or feed their kids because our society is set up to fail them. I think Sierra is great! I’m not judging her or the world she lives in. I made a comment to the fact that most people won’t ever be able to dream of buying designer this or that.
People are allowed to do with their money as they please. There is nothing wrong with that. I personally wouldn't buy designer, but if other want to. Go for it. They are not responsible for your problems.
Can someone explain the appeal of designer items to me? Is it just supposed to be a status symbol? There are lots of name brand items that I think are worth it, I love my Blundstones and Docs for example, but I just can't wrap my head around spending $400 on a belt or $1000 on a bag. Help a girl out lol
I think it’s all a matter of perspective and relative to your situation. If $1,000 on a bag is 1/80th of your annual income or less, it might not be a big deal to that person. I used to feel the same way, but would spend so much money on fast fashion that I ended up getting rid of quickly or falling apart, then I started buying some designer items about 3 years ago and still wear and love everything today. I spend a lot less on fast fashion and only buy a few designer pieces a year that I really love and cherish. Plus, all that fast fashion people waste their money on has almost 0 value once they leave the store, designer goods can be resold and many items hold their value extremely well or even appreciate over time
curlyhorns it’s a way to clearly signal your wealth, on one hand, and on the other, to have wonderfully designed, prime, luxury items. Wearing a Miss Dior bag, Manolos, a nice Diane Von Furstenberg dress and Cartier jewelry makes someone feel splendid. I on the other hand, love my Doc Martens, Levis, Kanken and the HP Spectre... everyone should spend their money on what they find beautiful and that they can afford.
It's a status symbol and it can be about fitting in with the herd. I grew up in a really wealthy area, and I saw designer items all the time. Even in middle school girls were wearing Kate Spade and Coach. In high school they had Louis Vuitton, Gucci, and Burberry. When you're around it all the time you can start to feel like you need it too. I believe some people feel the need to show they have wealth because they either think they're better or deserve to be treated better for being rich. Now I live in a middle class area about an hour away and I barely see designer items and most of my friends don't have any. There's not much appeal to having them if you're not surrounded by them because it feels like you would be drawing negative attention to youself by doing so.
If anyone likes the look of Louis Vuitton and wants a dupe but not a replica a brand on Amazon called Daisy Rose has some amazing items. They have the checkered prints but they aren't trying to claim to be Louis bags but have a similar look. Also great quality so highly recommend!
thanks for this comment :) I wanted to buy a Louis Vuitton but my parents said its unethical and while i could afford it they said it really wasn't worth it for a single bag-- and i also want to save for a new phone since i still have the 6s soo glad to hear there are better options :)
I bought a fake Gucci marmont belt last year and I only wore it twice. I was too embarrassed that people would notice. To me it is super noticeable it was fake. I am going to buy a real one next weekend when I am on vacation in Miami. I put in a ton of overtime I am super excited! 🎉
@@wendythomas9361 I wanted a staple piece in my wardrobe to elevate my outfits. I have wanted the belt for 2 years. I put in overtime for my vacation primarily and put in enough work to get the belt too. When I want something I work to get it and this time it happens to be a belt. Some people love high end fashion some don't get it. That's fine too.
@@chlatepdng This is probably true and something I am actively working on, I have a lot of social anxiety to be honest. However, that aside another downfall of the fake is the "leather" of the belt is super cheap and I wanted my outfits to look luxurious (for myself, I like dressing well and enjoy fashion) even with inexpensive clothing. For certain outfits the Gucci belt can do just that. Unfortunately, it didn't have that same effect with the fake in my opinion.
Great video but I think it’s so funny how you said you don’t get the cartier love bracelet obsession but you get the 2000 LV bag obsession, 500 dollar GG belt obsession 😂😂 obviously you get the high end item obsession you just don’t like jewelry too much lol.

Just wanted to touch on the moral aspect you were bringing up in the video, yes definitely isn’t right to be selling people fakes. But I think another aspect of fakes being a bad thing is that it’s stealing a creative’s work, as an artist and someone who also studies fashion business I feel really strongly about this. A designer put so much work into the making of a product and then someone copies it and sells it for almost nothing. Just thought it was another important point Love your videos, you did a great job in this one ❤️
I love you so much girl. You’re so positive and outspoken, but am careful not to step on any toes. Your respectful in how you share your opinions, but you still make your point clear ❤️
If you have the money, hey spend it on whatever you want - I don’t think I would ever buy big designer brands no matter how much money I made, because I’m just a cheap b*tch at heart; gimme allllll the deals and dupes😩😂 On a side note though, I love that Kanye shirt and hat on you; the color of them is so so so flattering with your skin tone and hair😍
Same here! But I do love it if I find a designer item (that I like, not just for the sake of it) second hand / vintage and the asking price is reasonable.
I definitely don’t want any counterfeits. Dupes give you the feel, without having to spend a crazy amount of money. I have a light pink dupe of a light pink coach bag that I bought at Macy’s. It was Mother’s Day and I wanted to treat myself to the coach bag, Pink is my favorite color and I would’ve actually used it. I knew it was going to cost $200-$300 and I went in and couldn’t bring myself to buy it. I bought the dupe for $50 it was on clearance and originally sold for $100. I’m cheap. I was mad at my hubby for not getting me a gift and he told me I should’ve just bought it. Lol I am considering buying the dupe of the Palm Springs bag though. Love backpack purses and I lived in Palm Springs when I was younger.
The thing with designer items (such as bags) is that they appreciate cost over time. As opposed to looking at other clothing pieces or cars that depreciate over time. I'm not into designer items because I'm super rough with my clothing and to get them to appreciate you need to have them in excellent condition.
Melina Beatrice Nakos right. I know that some things are technically a good deal, from quality to price of resale, but for me, I’d rather go to a thrift store for that. Lol
I do not understand people’s obsession with designer items. I thrift almost everything, I look cute, and I spent literally thousands less than most people. Consumerism is scary dude.
I think for many people (especially those who are obsessed with getting monogrammed/logoed designer goods) they are seen as status symbols. I guess that some people like the idea of being able to show how much disposable income they have. Of course this is not true for everyone, some people are really into the history of fashion/the history of certain brands. I personally have seen items from luxury brands that I would like to own from a fashion/aesthetic point of view, but I don't covet them if that makes sense. Like sure it'd be cool to be able to afford this thing that I think I would look good in and would work well with my existing wardrobe, but I don't understand why people feel the urge/need to save for months (or even years in some cases) to be able to buy them.
Some people enjoy saving for it and buying it. Others honestly just have the money and they do not flinch at spending thousands loll. I'm a mix. I go crazy for luxury purses and jackets, but thrift for other parts of my wardrobe xD
You're lucky. I only have access to three thrift shops. The good one is open 9-5 Mon-Fri so I never make it there. The other two are Goodwill. Their stuff is so expensive- $8 for an old navy shirt that's pilling terribly. Sweaters with holes in them. Honest to god canning jars $1 each! I shop clearance and TJ Maxx. Not as good for the environment though.
Same I love thrifting. My teens are into namebrand stuff but we get it second hand. My daughter got a bunch of Abercrombie for $2 and pink brand. Shoot I'm thankful some rich fat woman donated her last season's wardrobe of all expensive brands. I got a whole wardrobe including 2 coctail dresses for under $50 😂
I would recommend rubbing a candle over the zipper - it should work just fine afterwards 😊 As for the legality of it all, you cannot patent or trademark a design or a pattern, so actually selling counterfeit goods is not technically illegal as long as you are making your customer aware it's not real, because you're not stealing anyone's intellectual property. However, it becomes illegal when you're selling it as a real thing while knowing that it's not (I believe it's considered fraud then). Anyway, love you and the video! ❤️❤️❤️
@Kristin Kery Very true! I was talking more about patents within the fashion industry, but yes, you can copyright specific things even there (e.g. Loubboutin red-heeled shoes are protected and you cannot sell shoes with the exact same shade of red on the heel without getting into some serious trouble). Of course different countries have different laws regarding intellectual property and you should be really familiar with them before attempting to sell and/or produce a copycat item. Still, what fast fashion is teaching us all nowadays is that you can actually get away with copying other people's designs scot-free if you have enough power/money to pull it off, so... 🤷♀️
I bought a knock-off Dooney and Bourke bag on a street cart in NYC for $15 once! Looked exactly like the real thing, just no logo 😂I haggled the guy down from $35. I said "Oh, I only have $15." and he was like "OK SOLD"
Iirc, theres a legal loophole for clothing design. Since it’s considered a necessity, clothing patterns can’t be legally owned/ protected. However, labels can be. So, someone could copy the exact garment, as long as the logo isn’t copied.
genuinely don’t understand why people are hating on designer goods so much. if someone can afford them and that’s what they choose to spend their money on then it’s their choice.
Solution: don’t worry about name brands. Get reasonably priced wants. $2,000 for an ugly brown bag?! That is MONTHS of groceries, electric, gas, and water bill combined! That is 2x our mortgage! That is even a family trip to Disneyland! Also, not my money so 🤷♀️. Pass. So glad this is not important to me.
I’m not a designer person but I enjoy this type of video. Shea Whitney does them too. She’s also goes out in public and asks random people if they can identify the real item and the fake.
I would love to see a “I wore Amazon outfits for a week” video!!! I’m just now getting into buying things from Amazon (I’m very late to the game lol) and I’ve loved every item of clothing I’ve ordered so far!
Hi Sierra, I think an interesting video would be you try to make designer items but your base would maybe be something from the thrift store. I saw a video like this a while back on Niki and Gabi’s channel and this video reminded me of that one. Love ur channel and hope u hit 1 million soon
Okay the Gucci belt would have fooled me. I remember when I was 12 and all of the kids had like 5 pairs of converse and I had one and I was like "how do they all have so many?" bc I love my all stars and turns out there were almost identical dupes sold at flee markets in my region. Though the quality was bad, they wouldn't last a month. Now, I do think that some luxury brands overdo it with the pricing. And I do feel like someone who is rich and buys all these items without offering something to help people in need is kind of a douche. I also dislike how an item can give away if you're rich or not in most cases, it's like stamping people. I don't hate on someone for buying luxury items but I wouldn't do it even if I could. Maybe this will change when I finish uni and maaaybe someday I have financial freedom, but right now I'm comparing the cost of a bag to my monthly rent, food, electricity bills and it's more than double the price. But then again the cost per use is pretty low if you use the items you buy for years. I hope I'm not offending anyone with this.
I can spot a fake Converse from miles, I've never seen a good replica. Although I had one that I bought off of a friend and she told me it was about 15$ on Ebay but they looked and felt exactly like my definitely real ones so I never knew if they were fake or just stolen or something :D
I love that you did this! People love designer bags but can't afford them so they will do whatever they can to be in style no matter if its a dupe or a counterfeit! There are some really good 'fakes' out there is is so hard to tell! I agree about the morality behind the counterfeits but love how you took a new spin on it and found similar items that weren't necessarily counterfeits!
Not all items though. Obviously a basic leather belt isnt hard to fake lol I would say in general...people who dont own designer items wouldnt know if it's fake or not. But for example where I live, tons of people own designer stuff and they would certainly notice a fake.. In real life it's usually pretty easy to tell. It's hard to explain but yeah.. I honestly have to say designer items usually look so much better and high quality in real life compared to Photos online.. Lol idk if that makes sense but that's how it is for me.
i think when people think about designer items they always think about the ones that are heavy on the logos and really flashy, but as someone who was planning on going to fashion school with a designer in my family, i really value the work of the designers runway looks and i used to not be a fan of gucci but alessandro michele (the creative director of gucci) has really elevated the brand and has done some amazing work. i like buying designer bags because they last longer, rather than having to buy a black bag over and over again, i can have one for years and years. i think dupes are okay but also at the same time the designer's hard work that was put into that but also at the same time they are very expensive. but counterfeits are like totally not okay like and it's illegal. if someone really likes the style they can find it somewhere else and the brand name is not what it's all about i even saw a video where a woman said she cuts all the tags off her clothing bc she believes it's not about the logo.
It's been months since I bought my *amzclothes* and it still looks the same as when I bought it. I have to admit that they did a really good job in this regard. The craftsmanship and durability of these goods is truly impressive.
There was a big piece in Wall Street Journal on this (not Gucci per se but products that are questionable in general). The article is titled “Amazon Has Ceded Control of Its Site. The Result: Thousands of Banned, Unsafe or Mislabeled Products”. They essentially say amazon doesn’t oversee their merchants anymore bc of scale - kinda the same problem as YT or FB with inappropriate content.
I got a Henschel Backpack dupe where the original is Like 120€ and i got a dupe without real leather for 35€ ... Love it and it is sturdier and fits more than the original. I checked because Friends of me have the OG
Oh Sierra, you are so cute. The love bracelet isnt taken off. It is put on you by your "love" (rather like a shackle). I wear one and it's very comfy. For you, as a non jewelry person, this may be an ideal jewelry choice.
That Gucci belt is WILD! I have mixed feelings regarding dupes & fakes. It’s hard because there are some people who want the “status” wearing Gucci/Cartier/LV brings but cannot realistically pay for it...So the fact that Amazon has something similar is I suppose nice for that reason. I don’t think that any of the designers are hurting financially...However I do understand why it can be deemed unethical. It’s definitely a VERY tricky topic. 💜
Eline yeah you don’t take it off. I have one and it’s not the most uncomfortable thing to sleep in so I usually leave it on for a week then take it off for a few days lol

Even though they're really hard to get in my country and also way too expensive for me, I'd love for you to review their bags and other items as I think you (as a Disney fan) would love them!
Counterfeit bags typically fund organized crime and even support things like human trafficking. However, you are correct that a dupe is way different then a counterfeit and I appreciate that you called that out! As always, love your creative video ideas!
I've wanted a Gucci belt for a while now but as a college student, I can't afford to spend $500 on a belt so I'm definitely gonna check out the amazon dupes!
Hi Sierra, thanks for another great video. I love how real you are. So many RUclips stars are busy trying to impress fans but all you need to do is be the lovely, beautiful you. Xx
I think you’re really misunderstanding the moral issues. It’s not just whether it accidentally gets sold as a designer item. It’s the fact that they’re stealing someone’s design.
Hey Sierra! If the issue is the actual zipper, try rubbing some wax paper along the inside of the zipper! The wax helps the teeth of the zipper glide into place more readily!
I would never wear fake designer because it’ll be SO embarrassing if I get caught. I’ll either save my coins for the real thing or stick to vintage finds 🤷🏽♀️
Victoria Brown lmaooo it’s not the fashion police I’m worried about. But what’s the point of buying fake designer to look fake rich and risk looking stupid for all my effort? It’s usually very obvious when it’s fake too so who are you fooling anyways? You just look like a try hard 🤷🏽♀️

I also agree the designer logos don't appeal to me at all. I wouldn't judge someone for buying one, especially if they can afford it. I just think what else could all that money go towards. I also grew up in a low income household.
LOL I agree... I mean, I have questionable taste, it's true, but I've always thought Louis Vuitton in particular was incredibly fugly
I agree. My mom always said, “Why would I want to be a walking billboard?”
@@DaniJean1 right? Not only would you be free advertisement for them, you just paid them $5000 to be a sponsor!!😂😂😂
Sierra: "$100 is so expensive for jeans"
Also Sierra: *has a $2000 Louis Vuitton backpack*
So with the cartier love bracelet, the purpose behind it is that the person who loves you is supposed to put it on you and screw in the screws and then your not supposed to take it off, and just wear it everyday!
Well that's fucking creepy
Like a 21st century chastity belt? 😮
Delia Santos hmmm, sounds like an expensive hand cuff? Or a much less painful branding? 😉😉😅
That’s highkey creepy, like they own you
Not really sure how it’s “creepy” or “controlling” but I guess anything can be looked at negatively. It’s the same concept as a wedding band. It’s a sweet reminder of the someone who loves you. Wearing it everyday and allowing it to get worn and scuffed shows how it’s been with you (like the person who placed it) through your life.
I really don’t get the fascination with Gucci. To each their own, though!
Hey you definitely aren't alone mate
Its honestly ridiculous. A T-shirt with the Gucci logo is almost $500. There’s noooo reason for that. You can’t justify that purchase lmao
The Optimal Life can’t you afford it? Lol
The Gucci T-shirt’s are what I will never understand.
People will say "I buy it because it's such high quality!" and sure, but there are many decent quality/inexpensive items that get the same job done. They're truly just paying for the label
I’m glad I’m not into designer items. I could never afford a bag, belt, or clothing that is hundreds if not thousands of dollars.
Mary Starling me either
Mary Starling honestly even if I could afford them, I wouldn’t buy them..
Girl same honestly ypur paying for a name not the product whuch is all this video proves besides a lot of Gucci stuff isnt cute to me . . .
likewise. i’d rather spend that money on sustainable fashion and pieces that are indie and unique.
I can afford and I won’t. Buy
I mean charging 450$ for a belt is pretty immoral
What I cannot believe is people buy them. I have the money but I can never spend it on such
Brooke Lee how about over $6k for a bracelet?
a lot of poor people like to buy these expensive stuff, its ridiculous
@@dollygutz8418 no poor person is buying a 450 gucci belt lmao
@@Sofia-re3hj believe me , they do , in my neck of the woods, and its a piss off , because they pay with food stamps , drive fancy cars and buy expensive designer items.

Yes!!!
I was thinking the same thing. If even the store can’t tell the difference it must be easy to fake
Some would say designer items are for the suckers who are okay with wasting their money. Materialism is an epidemic of modern times.
Just because things look the same does no mean it is the same quality. There is no way that fake Gucci belt is real leather, for example.
@@CatEyes1993 why not? I bought a real leather belt on sale this spring for less than $10 Canadian.

Becky C 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻this is a really important point
Please do a video trying the new American Eagle and Abercrombie “curvy” jeans!! I would love to see it!!

I know it's really stupid but These insanely expensive brands make me so mad. i just don't get it
@Kristin Kery i get mad because it feels like a scam to me.

I agree with u but like I would buy some of their funkier cooler items if I had the money lol
Nick _yass of course especially if you’re into certain things but most people do it now to show off
It makes you look and feel rich. That’s the appeal
Can someone explain the appeal of designer items to me? Is it just supposed to be a status symbol? There are lots of name brand items that I think are worth it, I love my Blundstones and Docs for example, but I just can't wrap my head around spending $400 on a belt or $1000 on a bag. Help a girl out lol
curlyhorns me too sis it’s kinda sad, they’re literally paying thousands extra for a brand name. Capitalism. 😕
i love my docs because they last longer than the human lifespan lol but in most cases you're 100% right. there are much more important things in life!

Some people love high end fashion some don't get it. That's fine too.
You are too worried what people think. Who cares really tho?
@@chlatepdng This is probably true and something I am actively working on, I have a lot of social anxiety to be honest. However, that aside another downfall of the fake is the "leather" of the belt is super cheap and I wanted my outfits to look luxurious (for myself, I like dressing well and enjoy fashion) even with inexpensive clothing. For certain outfits the Gucci belt can do just that. Unfortunately, it didn't have that same effect with the fake in my opinion.

Just thought it was another important point
Love your videos, you did a great job in this one ❤️

If you have the money, hey spend it on whatever you want - I don’t think I would ever buy big designer brands no matter how much money I made, because I’m just a cheap b*tch at heart; gimme allllll the deals and dupes😩😂
On a side note though, I love that Kanye shirt and hat on you; the color of them is so so so flattering with your skin tone and hair😍
Same here! But I do love it if I find a designer item (that I like, not just for the sake of it) second hand / vintage and the asking price is reasonable.
I think I prefer dupes. First cause some of the are cuter, and then of course I’d rather pay $50 or less rather than $1,000-$6,000
I definitely don’t want any counterfeits.
I totally agree. Dupes for those who don’t get duped out of their big $$
Liz Carr completely agree. thrifting is the best, you get more unique items and it’s waaay more environmentally friendly :)
I got a whole wardrobe including 2 coctail dresses for under $50 😂
I would recommend rubbing a candle over the zipper - it should work just fine afterwards 😊
As for the legality of it all, you cannot patent or trademark a design or a pattern, so actually selling counterfeit goods is not technically illegal as long as you are making your customer aware it's not real, because you're not stealing anyone's intellectual property. However, it becomes illegal when you're selling it as a real thing while knowing that it's not (I believe it's considered fraud then). Anyway, love you and the video! ❤️❤️❤️
People get sued for stealing designs all the time. The question is whether the design is different enough as to not mislead consumers.
I agree. Your money is better spent elsewhere.

Oh btw: that “locked in forever” is the point of the love bracelet^^ it’s meant to be worn all the time, your partner locks it
Hi Sierra, I think an interesting video would be you try to make designer items but your base would maybe be something from the thrift store. I saw a video like this a while back on Niki and Gabi’s channel and this video reminded me of that one. Love ur channel and hope u hit 1 million soon
wait so they’re not sold in dark alley ways and on the black market? 😂
Summer Kees 😂🤣😂🤣
Amazon is the brightest dark alleyway ever
Dang, the Gucci belt dupe was already taken down on Amazon 🤣
Search eBay! Go to your search settings and set it to go from lowest prices to highest and this belt pops up for like $14.
Chrys T i completely agree
I can spot a fake Converse from miles, I've never seen a good replica. Although I had one that I bought off of a friend and she told me it was about 15$ on Ebay but they looked and felt exactly like my definitely real ones so I never knew if they were fake or just stolen or something :D
your parents have raised you well! you are a very grounded person and I totally agree with you
I love that you did this! People love designer bags but can't afford them so they will do whatever they can to be in style no matter if its a dupe or a counterfeit! There are some really good 'fakes' out there is is so hard to tell! I agree about the morality behind the counterfeits but love how you took a new spin on it and found similar items that weren't necessarily counterfeits!
that gets to show how gucci is so easy to fake lmao, I dont get the hype over it
Not all items though. Obviously a basic leather belt isnt hard to fake lol
I would say in general...people who dont own designer items wouldnt know if it's fake or not.
I loveeee this video! I’m not okay with the company actually printing a fake serial number, but it’s nice to have cheaper options!!
Omg the highheels were so so so so good!
Those are the Balenciagas?? The ones that look like socks???
Idk why I always pictured something else?
ebonyonce I pictured Birkenstock’s
Lmao I was looking for this comment ((money!))
I think I'd go for the dupes, simply because I'm incapable of looking after nice things. 😂
right, i get a spot on a brand new shirt after wearing it once lol
A positive to the LV backpack zipper being harder to zip is that it means : harder for a thief to get into it
I love your confidence. I got so confident since I watch your videos. ♡♡♡♡♡
I got a Henschel Backpack dupe where the original is Like 120€ and i got a dupe without real leather for 35€ ... Love it and it is sturdier and fits more than the original. I checked because Friends of me have the OG
I recently bought a knockoff Balmain dress off Amazon for $30........it makes my butt look like it's worth $5k LOL
Allison Logsdon send the link lol

I love dupes! I've done a couple of Amazon dupe videos, my fav probably is the Hermes dupe bag I found. Great vid 💖
Same!!!...👍🏽😇💎🦄💝
I don't think you're supposed to take the love bracelet every night, I think the whole idea is that you don't take it off
Eline yeah you don’t take it off. I have one and it’s not the most uncomfortable thing to sleep in so I usually leave it on for a week then take it off for a few days lol
Lol I can NOT sleep with that thing on, not the most comfortable, but I don’t sleep with any jewelry on just for comfort reasons!
Sierra you’re so close to one million!!!!
Can you post the link to the belt you got and the size you selected ? Thanks so much!

Hey Sierra, have you ever thought about reviewing Loungefly products? They have the most adorable Disney items, including bags I could only dream of. Even though they're really hard to get in my country and also way too expensive for me, I'd love for you to review their bags and other items as I think you (as a Disney fan) would love them!
I have three, and I love them all. :)
I have bought a couple of dupe designer things, but tend to do it so I can test out the product to see if I even like it before splurging 🤷
Counterfeit bags typically fund organized crime and even support things like human trafficking. However, you are correct that a dupe is way different then a counterfeit and I appreciate that you called that out! As always, love your creative video ideas!
I graduate with my masters in May and I’m getting myself a designer bag. I have a number of SLGs but it’s time for a bag.
So excited for another video!! Was hoping for one today to brighten my day a bit :)
I've wanted a Gucci belt for a while now but as a college student, I can't afford to spend $500 on a belt so I'm definitely gonna check out the amazon dupes!
No, it's still 26 dollars for a belt, that is insane; get one for 5 dollars then you are fine
CatEyes1993 so what
The Gucci belt isn't even thee anymore. You did it Sierra!
Why does the amazon LV backpack look better than the real one lol
Hey Sierra! If the issue is the actual zipper, try rubbing some wax paper along the inside of the zipper! The wax helps the teeth of the zipper glide into place more readily!
I would never wear fake designer because it’ll be SO embarrassing if I get caught. I’ll either save my coins for the real thing or stick to vintage finds 🤷🏽♀️
dinkyboss lmao!!I've never understood this point of view.
Sis who would catch you 🤣🤣 the fashion police?
@@victoriabrown4037 😂😂
Victoria Brown lmaooo it’s not the fashion police I’m worried about. But what’s the point of buying fake designer to look fake rich and risk looking stupid for all my effort? It’s usually very obvious when it’s fake too so who are you fooling anyways? You just look like a try hard 🤷🏽♀️
I would’ve been like, I like the style 🤷🏼♀️
Never clicked sooo fast😂 gosh I love Sierra💓
I have those amazon heels~ they come in flats too. I think I only paid like $20 for mine.
