Germany, France and others also had concessions in Tiajin. Also the monarchy thing, if you mean the part at 5:00. There he actually says that Belgium is the only monarchy in the world without an actual crown. (like the crown jewels) The only crown we have is a picture on our shield.

Ahh... So many countries in Europe have a Monarch. The Netherlands, Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Little old Liechtenstein, Spain, Monaco is a principality (it has a prince) and Luxembourg is called the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg. So alot of them are located in the North West of Europe.
But none of these really has alot of power. The Netherlands (where I'm from) is a constitutional monarchy, our king has no political power, but he does need to approve who runs the government after elections. He has his own holiday though, check Geography Now the Netherlands sometime!
About the shape of the flag not being the same as others, check out Nepal's flag. And apart from the UK there are still quite a few countries that also have a king/queen: Belgium, the Netherlands, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Spain. I love the language mess in Belgium. I'm German, speak some French and I'm learning Dutch. Actually, the official Belgian constitution states that the Belgian flag is red yellow black... due to strategic point of similarities with the german flag they decided to change the order of the colours to black yellow red to fly under the radar during the world war... afterwards they decided to keep the flag black yellow red since the black colour contrasted better with the white flagpoles... the order of the colours however never got officially changed so technically speaking all Belgian flags around the world have been the wrong and “illegal”

@@DubCedSky Well pointed out. So I decided to do some research and according to the Encyclopaedia Britannica: Tianjin was a consession of Belgium which is almost the same thing as a colony. Germany, France and others also had concessions in Tiajin.
Also the monarchy thing, if you mean the part at 5:00. There he actually says that Belgium is the only monarchy in the world without an actual crown. (like the crown jewels) The only crown we have is a picture on our shield.

Also, the Belgian royal family is actually of the same house as the UK royal family. They changed their name to the house of Windsor in order to distance themselves from their actual German descent. But they come from the house of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha. The same house as the Belgian royal family.

Ahh... So many countries in Europe have a Monarch. The Netherlands, Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Little old Liechtenstein, Spain, Monaco is a principality (it has a prince) and Luxembourg is called the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg. So alot of them are located in the North West of Europe.
But none of these really has alot of power. The Netherlands (where I'm from) is a constitutional monarchy, our king has no political power, but he does need to approve who runs the government after elections. He has his own holiday though, check Geography Now the Netherlands sometime!

Our flag has always been represented wrong. In the constitution, the colours are mentioned as red, yellow and black, which means red should be closest to the pole. However, our flags have always been reversed somehow and are hanging with black closest to the pole.

I love the language mess in Belgium. I'm German, speak some French and I'm learning Dutch. It's fun to swap from one language to another: "Excusez-moi, est ce qu'il y a une boulangerie ici?" on one side of the street and : " Excuseer, waar vind ik hier een bakeri?" o the other or possibly:"Entschuldigen Sie, wo gibt es hier eine Bäckerei?". Actually... Belgium has 6 governments: Flanders, Brussels, Walloon, German speaking part, French speaking part and the federal government. And our king is not the only one exept of the Britains. The Netherlands, Denmark, Andorra, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Monaco, Norway, Spain, Sweden and Vatican City is actually also a monarchy, but with the pope in place of a king. But I think these are the only influential countries in the world who are monarchies.

Actually, the official Belgian constitution states that the Belgian flag is red yellow black... due to strategic point of similarities with the german flag they decided to change the order of the colours to black yellow red to fly under the radar during the world war... afterwards they decided to keep the flag black yellow red since the black colour contrasted better with the white flagpoles... the order of the colours however never got officially changed so technically speaking all Belgian flags around the world have been the wrong and “illegal”

But In accordance with heraldic tradition, the darkest color was placed closest to the flagpole. And so the current color wear has become a constitutional custom.
