Time passes quickly, doesn't it? Does anyone remember how once during Summer, there was this maze and, when you completed it, you got a chest with Dragon Eggs? (Of course, you only got one) I miss that so much- and yes, it was in Old Berk. I remember how I kept making new accounts to get all the eggs, pff.
I remembered the glitch that u could get ur dragon in there and cheat 😂😂😂😂 and the gem glitch....... I may or may mot have gotten 25+ dragons with it 😂😂😂😂😂😂 I had spent 100+ dollars on the game though 😂 I still play it sometimes! But HTTYD was 90% of my childhood sad it’s over 😥😭
Things I remember from older versions -Needing to ride a timberjack to travel -When the school was combined with lookout, training grounds, and (i think) wilderness -When ice storm island was added (I thought it was fake cause it was a 2-d image and I started crying cause I was like 7) -lokis maze -fishlegs running around like an idiot during the death song expansion -when there wasn't a free dragon you had to rescue, only the egg you hatch

That's not true. I've never spent a single dollar on this game and I have all expansion packs and I only need 25 dragons out of 77 to complete my collection. And I even have repeated ones.
It was possible to enjoy the game without paying, but you needed to pay to enjoy the game a lot more. And to be fair, it should've had a one-time price or at least an option to get permanent membership one-time payment. The game couldn't have been totally free, since it is online and they had to keep up the servers and pay the devs to add new stuff and keep updating

Oh god I miss not knowing what to do in thw old version :,) Omg I remember people getting me trapped saying there was an egg inside a cave in The Wilderness lmao they were bad bullies I started playing in 2013 as far as I know. Like the day it came out or something. I was 7 so I didn't know what to do in the game that much but, I still enjoyed jumping off the sea and taking my dragon like she was saving me- I remember that sea which was teleporting us when we touched it. I miss the elevator too. Did they have to break it too? It was my savior when it came to getting up. Oh and that Taxi dragon! Remember we used to fly the Timberjack to travell? Oh god it was so cool! I really miss it though :,)
Since the code is old the game itself won't change that much. The only thing that evolves are the 3D models but as well as I can see they don't update the old models at all.

I remember playing in 2015 and it being so much fun, I loved the atmosphere and all the expansion packs. I had so many dragons I loved dearly and really cared about but one day, I log off and don’t log on again for a few months but by that time I had forgotten my username and password. It genuinely makes me upset that I’ve left those dragons behind, that I’ll never see them again. It’s been 5 years and I still miss them.

I tried playing it again recently and now you get to rescue your first dragon instead of choosing an egg and raising it before you can fly it. but you do get both an adult dragon and an egg at the start. ugh i miss this series so much:(
Fyi they cant upgrade this ps2 look of this game for that they require a whole new game engine and for that to work they need to make a whole new game.
I played this in 2013 right when it came out. There were only two islands, the school and berk. You could only have one at a time, and there was the choice of only like 5 you could get for free, 2 more with the membership. I remember spending a lot of time on my monstrous nightmare just hanging out in the wilderness, pretending to be a dragon. I’d take one of the caves as my lair. I also remember being so happy when my monstrous nightmare could finally fly. Revisited the game a couple months ago, and it’s gotten 10x bigger and there’s lots more things to pay for, and all the new islands hey added just have so much empty space. Its become worse imo, though maybe nostalgia clouds my views
Agreed. The bugs make the game nearly unplayable, and it's more pay-to-play now than it used to be. I do enjoy early expansions (Icestorm Island being my favorite), but the more recent ones seem...stale? In comparison. Maybe it's also nostalgia for me, but yeah.
I remember how I wanted my first dragon to be a zippleback but was too dumb to read the names and got a nadder instead...jokes on you its now One of my favs. I will always remember Hunter, Sea Soul, Mr.Blind, Lava, Firefly and my Screaming Death that i cannot recall the name...

So much nostalgia. I remember when Fireball Frenzy was released as a demo of sorts before the game was even released yet. I was super excited, since up until then, Wild Skies was like one of the best HTTYD games, and after playing through it a good 3 times and mastering almost every challenege, some new HTTYD gameplay was gonna be great! I remember the good ol' days with the Timberjack taxi and the beginning quest where you fly through the caldera on Toothless with Hiccup, and just how simple the gameplay was. I remember how much of a game changer stuff like the battle events was. It's seen a lot of changes since it first began, and to be honest, I've enjoyed just about every version we've had. Sometimes I miss the good ol' days when everyone had their old models, Stoick was still in the game, and the original Berk was still relevant :( But with all the new areas to explore and quest lines, there's a heck of a lot more content now than there was beforehand. I think the only addition that I didn't like and absolutely can't stand, is the way they incorporated the Hidden World. There was so much potential and I just don't think having the waterfall sitting right there outside of the school and having it all tied in with the Harald Forkbeard plot wasn't the right way to go, especially with there being areas like 'Explore the Sea" on the map that haven't been used for too much yet and would be perfect for the waterfall. @@elisabethkohrman7697 Wild Skies was definitely it! I found a downloadable version and I still play it on my laptop from time to time. I have the file saved to my Google Drive so that I'll always have the game readily available. It even saves your progress like it used to and fixed the texture glitches as well. Looks and plays good as new! I can try to link it tomorrow morning between my college classes if you'd like Edit: Yup, my controls are still invert-y too, and it's absolutely because of Wild Skies!

started playing the first week the game was out. i don't play i much anymore, but i still hop in occasionally. i was there through the whole timberjack hacks, the golden toothless era, the crystal nadder era, all the hacked dragons shit. i had my own account hacked and all 47 dragons replaced with a single timberjack, and had to create a new account and start all over again. geez, i remember when Scauldrons were the new, cool thing, and i'd friend request anyone who had one. now i've got like seven lol
this was a huge through back for me as one of the first players. has anyone else noticed the decline in effort as the game became more cash grabby i go and make new characters just to experience some of the effort ounce again. there was one thing that you didnt touch on though the tutorial has changed back in the day you didnt start of with a dragon that could fly you had to stick with you baby dragon untill it grew then the second dragon evrybody had was the wispering death, who else remebers those days :)
Although yes, the game is cash grab (always has been), I feel like they have put more effort now than before, so I don't see a decline in effort. New areas are much more detailed and expansive, dragons now have a lot of effort and detail put into them and I could keep going on and on about the new stuff like dragon tactics.
I have so many great memories about this game, getting so immersed, staying up all night just doing quests... Also probably made some of my most regrettable choices in this game since I was a dumb kid lol
Damn i remember playing this game when i was still a kid (i also played dragon city, social empire, social wars, feeding frenzy, etc.) and i remember just riding with my pet drag all around and fly with timberjack.
I remember playing this so much as a kid in early 2014. Haven't played for years now, the nostalgia hit hard! I remember almost only paying it for the sake of exploring the map, trying to fly to the highest point in the sky, or into the infinity of the sea... It made my childhood dream of flying on a dragon's back just a bit more real, and I'm very grateful for this game now.

I remember when there wasn’t any seperate islands besides only the school and Berk. The training grounds, the farm and everything was all in one small area. I’ve been playing since it first came out and have enjoyed every bit of it, training dragons, exploring new islands etc etc. but now I don’t enjoy it very much since it’s become a pay to play game, having to pay for membership or gems in order to get good stuff and explore new islands.
As a long-time player (est. 2014) I really appreciated this video. Notice, however, how the most recent expansion doesn't have the dude in the background and how the game doesn't really change how it looks. Sure, expansions are nice, but where's the new 2020 graphics? Animations have been used and recycled from the oldest models (countless dragon animations are recycled from Toothless) and there are LOADS of glitches.

I remembered that you can still play this on browser, the fireball frenzy, flight club, and thunder run racing was still inside the school caldera, timberjack taxi, the best saddle that you could get for your dragon is the sleek saddle if you have gems. Also, you only get to own 1 dragon, there is no stable. I remembered using my parents fb accounts aside from mine just to get each dragons 😂😂 good times

Since 2015, much has changed from then, I prefer it back then. My favourite expansion tho has got to be "Battle for the edge", agreed?
No the call of the death song is still amazing for because we use the ability of the dragon to finish the quest

Man i freaking love this game, i REALLY hope they can advance the graphics soon, or even just the animations and proportions soon. it has SO much potential. I tried playing it again recently and now you get to rescue your first dragon instead of choosing an egg and raising it before you can fly it. but you do get both an adult dragon and an egg at the start. ugh i miss this series so much:(
Fyi they cant upgrade this ps2 look of this game for that they require a whole new game engine and for that to work they need to make a whole new game.
I played this in 2013 right when it came out. There were only two islands, the school and berk. You could only have one at a time, and there was the choice of only like 5 you could get for free, 2 more with the membership. I remember spending a lot of time on my monstrous nightmare just hanging out in the wilderness, pretending to be a dragon. I’d take one of the caves as my lair. I also remember being so happy when my monstrous nightmare could finally fly. Revisited the game a couple months ago, and it’s gotten 10x bigger and there’s lots more things to pay for, and all the new islands hey added just have so much empty space. Its become worse imo, though maybe nostalgia clouds my views
Agreed. The bugs make the game nearly unplayable, and it's more pay-to-play now than it used to be. I do enjoy early expansions (Icestorm Island being my favorite), but the more recent ones seem...stale? In comparison. Maybe it's also nostalgia for me, but yeah.
I remember how I wanted my first dragon to be a zippleback but was too dumb to read the names and got a nadder instead...jokes on you its now One of my favs. I will always remember Hunter, Sea Soul, Mr.Blind, Lava, Firefly and my Screaming Death that i cannot recall the name...

So much nostalgia. I remember when Fireball Frenzy was released as a demo of sorts before the game was even released yet. I was super excited, since up until then, Wild Skies was like one of the best HTTYD games, and after playing through it a good 3 times and mastering almost every challenege, some new HTTYD gameplay was gonna be great! I remember the good ol' days with the Timberjack taxi and the beginning quest where you fly through the caldera on Toothless with Hiccup, and just how simple the gameplay was. I remember how much of a game changer stuff like the battle events was. It's seen a lot of changes since it first began, and to be honest, I've enjoyed just about every version we've had. Sometimes I miss the good ol' days when everyone had their old models, Stoick was still in the game, and the original Berk was still relevant :( But with all the new areas to explore and quest lines, there's a heck of a lot more content now than there was beforehand. I think the only addition that I didn't like and absolutely can't stand, is the way they incorporated the Hidden World. There was so much potential and I just don't think having the waterfall sitting right there outside of the school and having it all tied in with the Harald Forkbeard plot wasn't the right way to go, especially with there being areas like 'Explore the Sea" on the map that haven't been used for too much yet and would be perfect for the waterfall. Thanks for posting this, you've brought back tons of great memories!
Wild Skies was it tho. Even now, I still have the inverted up and down controls cause you couldn’t change it in that game
@@elisabethkohrman7697 Wild Skies was definitely it! I found a downloadable version and I still play it on my laptop from time to time. I have the file saved to my Google Drive so that I'll always have the game readily available. It even saves your progress like it used to and fixed the texture glitches as well. Looks and plays good as new! I can try to link it tomorrow morning between my college classes if you'd like

started playing the first week the game was out. i don't play i much anymore, but i still hop in occasionally. i was there through the whole timberjack hacks, the golden toothless era, the crystal nadder era, all the hacked dragons shit. i had my own account hacked and all 47 dragons replaced with a single timberjack, and had to create a new account and start all over again.
geez, i remember when Scauldrons were the new, cool thing, and i'd friend request anyone who had one.

I miss the timberjack map mini game where u have to fly to go to a place
this was a huge through back for me as one of the first players. has anyone else noticed the decline in effort as the game became more cash grabby i go and make new characters just to experience some of the effort ounce again. there was one thing that you didnt touch on though the tutorial has changed back in the day you didnt start of with a dragon that could fly you had to stick with you baby dragon untill it grew then the second dragon evrybody had was the wispering death, who else remebers those days :)
Although yes, the game is cash grab (always has been), I feel like they have put more effort now than before, so I don't see a decline in effort. New areas are much more detailed and expansive, dragons now have a lot of effort and detail put into them and I could keep going on and on about the new stuff like dragon tactics.

Damn i remember playing this game when i was still a kid (i also played dragon city, social empire, social wars, feeding frenzy, etc.) and i remember just riding with my pet drag all around and fly with timberjack.
I remember playing this so much as a kid in early 2014. Haven't played for years now, the nostalgia hit hard! I remember almost only paying it for the sake of exploring the map, trying to fly to the highest point in the sky, or into the infinity of the sea... It made my childhood dream of flying on a dragon's back just a bit more real, and I'm very grateful for this game now.
I remember I started playing like a lil after dragon island came out and I was so excited and I'm here now with 50 something dragons and finished all the missions
I remember that school of dragons looked so different back then
I remember when there wasn’t any seperate islands besides only the school and Berk. The training grounds, the farm and everything was all in one small area. I’ve been playing since it first came out and have enjoyed every bit of it, training dragons, exploring new islands etc etc. but now I don’t enjoy it very much since it’s become a pay to play game, having to pay for membership or gems in order to get good stuff and explore new islands.
You can still earn gems from ads, and save up that way, and buy the expansion packs with them.
I get my gems from battle events. It's normally very easy.

Mantis guy ya there was a timber jack in every place so that you could fly on the timber jacks back, you know before your dragon grew to adult hood

As a long-time player (est. 2014) I really appreciated this video. Notice, however, how the most recent expansion doesn't have the dude in the background and how the game doesn't really change how it looks. Sure, expansions are nice, but where's the new 2020 graphics? Animations have been used and recycled from the oldest models (countless dragon animations are recycled from Toothless) and there are LOADS of glitches.

I didnt got what others said like you travel with Timberjack to go other island and use it as a main transportation (since i still havent got the egg hatched yet-)
But i still remember the old times that,you can play with your dragon that day,and you're with Toothless,i thought it's just a random thought idea in my brain that i thought about those,but it's true

the best saddle that you could get for your dragon is the sleek saddle if you have gems.
Also, you only get to own 1 dragon, there is no stable. I remembered using my parents fb accounts aside from mine just to get each dragons 😂😂 good times
