Mark Roman!!! You must be Soooo PROUD Watching this?! OMG! Back When TIMES WERE so MUCH better then these DAYS... Watching, Seeing THIS... Whoa... So AWESOME! And the MEMORIES!!! 😊
Semi Final Round at the Oakland Coliseum Arena (Oakland) on September 7th- 1st Game - Chicago Pioneers 49, Ohio Jolters 47. 2nd Game - San Francisco Bay Bombers 49, New York Chiefs 48. -Championship Round at the Cow Palace (Daly City) on September 8th- 3rd Place - New York Chiefs 54, Ohio Jolters 53. Championship Game - San Francisco Bay Bombers 40, Chicago Pioneers 39.
Thank you for providing the final scores. I sadly missed that Championship game as well. Had to attend a family event. Worse when one thinks too it was the very last Roller Derby Championship game ever in the San Francisco Bay Area as well!
OMG!! It just advertised and put the ph. number up... they were talking about "if you wanted to BE IN roller derby?" I checked it out, believe it or not, because I was so into skating and throw roller derby in the mix... but it wasn't meant to be, but I also remember when televised Derby it was being seen on Channel 2 way back before we had all these stations and channels and I'll be dang, there was my mom and da!!! They were sitting up front and the camera kept swinging by them while they were following the skaters of course & way before VCRs because that I would have loved to have been able to tape! It was I think at the Oakland Auditorium it wasn't the Coliseum in Oakland even though they played and we went there a lot but oh my gosh so cool!!
Life was much simplier. We had much less crime. Disco was the bomb then. I skated on the bank track in the 70s hoping to be a skater. Most of what you see on youtube have passed away and now Maurice White of EARTH WIND AND FIRE HAS PASSED AWAY. We are living in a sad time
+Brandon Cruchelli If you remember this game Brandon the Bombers defeated the Chiefs. However yes the Chiefs remained the Gold Cup World Champions as although this was not described as such on television, it was for the Western Championships. Or way for the old IRDL to finish the Summer Season. Got more confusing later when Roller Games & Derby merged. Chiefs were still the Gold Cup Champions whether teams of Roller Games liked it or not! LOL!
I don't think there is footage of either 2nd half between the Bombers and Chiefs or the Bombers vs. the Pioneers for the Championship. This is the first time, I even heard the scores of either of these games.
