Kids really are kids where we are! I remember girls piercing their ears with needles because they wanted to wear earrings -- in their case, without expertise and often, without permission.
@@monkeydkfetus One of my friends pierced hers with a sewing needle and threaded sewing thread threw. Her mother made her take it out in under 24hrs, which as an adult I think was probably wise. I don't know that the thread was a good move. I was never that daring, though I did reopen a closed ear hole with a earring once or twice. I imagine that is somewhat simpler.
It’s even better than the pistols 👍 The pistols are not used any more bacause they destroyed too much skin. If you don’t have a professional thorn piercer at hand it’s best to go to a piercing studio since they manage to do it without any scaring or a remaining skin knot around the pierced hole. Since that is what you get when you have a shop like Cla1res do it. Please don’t take your kids to Cla1res but instead go to a truly professional piercer! ❤ (From someone who worked at a shop like that and now regrets having pierced ears even though I‘m not a professional 😢)
Yep. Thread to broom straw to earrings. At 16, I decided to get a second piercing in each ear. My friend stuck the needle halfway through, freaked out, and said she couldn't do it. There I was with a needle hanging out of my ear.😂 She finally finished the job. But, to this day, only one ear has two piercings.
When I was 11 or 12; me and my sisters got our ears pierced at home by our mom( my younger sisters are 1 and 3 years younger than me). My mom sanitized our ears with alcohol and then sterilized the needle by burning the tip, she had us apply an ice cube to each earlobe until it was near frozen. Then she inserted the string in the needle and pierced our earlobes quickly. She left the string inside our piercing and tied it. For a week, she would gently pull the string inside our pierced earlobes so that the hole would stay open. A week later, she inserted a straw from a new straw broom to keep the hole open as it was healing. Then about the third week, we got our first earrings. When one came a moment later at the age of 28, I took my 3 month old daughter to the Shopping Mall where they had a jewelry store that pierced ears. I had my daughter's ears pierced rather than to do it myself.
wow, you are so stunningly beautiful! You would look at home on a high fashion runway, in print, on tv! Thank you for sharing a bit of your life with us!
Native Americans in the Southwest USA used mesquite tree thorns to make needles to sew their clothes. They would smoke them over a fire to make them hard and dry.
fallen mesquite tree branches will also put a hole right through your shoes if you're not careful, the branches end up sticking up like railroad spikes!
I was wondering about your hair cut. Sometimes it's very short, sometimes it's a but longer, fuller. What is your personal preference? of course you look great with any length.
@@LindaC616 no I mean with Rose thorns etc. tetanus comes from anaerobic bacteria which are found in dust and dirt (and yes, rust, but rust doesn’t cause tetanus itself, it’s just an ideal environment for the bacterial survival) Concerning the metal needles, that’s why you had to sterilize them with fire first.
This is so great, I got two piercings with the little pistol and my skin had so much trauma 8 years later they still hurt. I have heard a lot of similar stories🤍 this did an amazing job well your cousin did 💕

My granma did her's with a big darning needle. I used safety pins myself.

Lol she is so sarcastic that I can never tell when she’s serious 😅
She's being serious in this video. It turns out there are many ways to pierce ears.
haha true, sometimes hard to tell.
But use brain and logic and usually its apparent 😂
😍😍😍
Used to use a sowing pin and ice
Sewing, but, same here

What did you put in the hole after? Here in Sweden I think a special metal is used and special cleaning until it's healed.
Thank you for making these educational videos ❤

She's actually a model.
This seems like it would be better for the skin and possibly heal faster, too! So cool!
hi dear in India also using the same method...nature gifted everything to us but we are converting that in to advanced manner
I also used Thorns.a night of stay of the thorn in my ear was the worst nightmare
It's so cool to see how people in other cultures do things.😊 Jesus loves you!❤
Thank u
I had mine pierced at 8 years old in Gabon! At a pharmacy though 😅

I like your earrings
My ears are pierced with gold pin..similar to the shape of the thorn.

Is there a risk for tetanus infections? I know this is/was a major issue when getting pricked in nature growing up.
Because we used metal needles (possibly rusty)

But tell me Joy...in Uganda, is your cousin's siater also not your cousin? Or is it different? 😉
We used a Safety pin
Чем пахнет креветка?
Probably safer than a pistol gun
just like the pistol
