The way I understood it, they had been getting paid, but not as much as they should have been, thanks to Karen taking a little off the top from what the real owners actually were providing. So, more like 15 years of partial back pay.
@@whatsanenigma Still makes no sense. Their paychecks are hourly or salary, so the stub shows what they make, Wrongful termination lawsuit perhaps, but how in the hell is a new manager responsible for 15 years back pay? Story makes no sense.
I suspect 2 things. 1) Not in America. The English sounded like a 2nd language to them. 2) OP only partially understood a very complicated situation. Which is understandable, anytime my bosses-bosses-boss starts talking about their job it tends to go over my head as well. It might be real, it might not be, I choose not to judge on such things. I know that even if it was American, most workers don't know their rights or how to stand-up and enforce them.
Yeah they missed about 5 steps in that story. How did the owners of the building just forget to check up on it for 15 years? How did they know she was taking rent due to them? It sounded like they did in fact collect rent. Also the guys were not working for free and someone hired them, now suddenly they are employed by the building owners not company. I guess we can presume someone has not been paying something. But what exactly, who knows. Also having not qualified personnel installing your electrics, highly illegal in most countries.
Janice sounds like the "I'M HERE NOW AND I'M IN CHARGE, and the more money I save the bigger my bonus, dosen't matter if it hurts other" type. Either way. "I'm Scruffy, the Janitor, fire me if'n you dare"
I also asked for someone to help me me, I got lucky, they had a house they could rent mt at a reduced rate, I lived there for several years, we loved it
this is a curious legal matter. As the manager, she has the right to hire or fire anyone she wishes (with cause). The owners have the right to give orders to the manager as to who she should hire or fire. So she, as the manager, can fire the maintenance crew for (whatever). The owners can order her to rehire the maintenance crew.
I'v always said ir doesn't hurt to ask, there are few time no is fatal, governor not pardoning, transplant organ doesn't match... other than tat wadda got to loose... could use a place myself....
Bless me with gifting me your house way under market value because I've always wanted to live there. In this economy and after you got laid off? How are you going to pay for that?
"before you started your shift"
So ... Overtime.
Wait. How did this become fifteen years of back pay?
total BS, somebody paid them and those were the employers.

"You can give me your house and just write it off" LOL!

Since we are calling her "Janice" in the first story I take it her real name is Karen....Awesome!

Good luck with that and may God smile down on you
Story 1 made absolutely no sense. I smell BS.
After listening to the story I agree something isn't right.
They named their kid "F19"?

It takes a lot of balls to just ask outright for a house. Who knows, maybe they’ll get it.

@@23shadowlee The way it was written it sounds that she is asking the chances of getting good sex for Christmas.
