Thanks for the great review! Most other RUclipsrs just focus on the cards and don't even open and show the game pieces, so I appreciate you reviewing the whole product!
The disrespect the Pokemon company has for its English customers is insulting. Every time a product comes out the quality and Aesthetics of the Japanese version of Head Over Heels better than English
English always been quantity over quality and there’s not a lot of creativeness. The borders on the Japanese ones are awesome don’t know why the English can’t do it.
Aren’t they sticking to the same design as the OG? Japanese being the way they are, and english too. Well at least they didn’t put Charizard in the front, like the Japanese.
I remember seeing this advertised at my local gamestop for that $400 price tag, and I was in shock haha Seems like a cool collector box, but realistically, it should be half the price
Yeah, at £400, this thing is just insane. Like, it's nice, but it's not that nice. It's 3 decks, which aren't legal, and a few cheap pieces of equipment that look fairly sleak. I don't even think it'd be worth £200. £100 would be a fairer price. Still too much, but at least comprehendable.
@@Patrick-y4d1zNah mate, £100 would be too cheap. It does look at least somewhat nice. I think the price should be the same as the Japanese price 35,000 yen which is £188 at current exchange rate. So anything around £200. would be acceptable in my opinion. £399.95 is just a massive rip off though😢 thats like a big portion of my monthly net income. Compared to the Japanese version, this box looks not that premium. The cards don't look that awesome without that full glitter over the whole surface. I preordered, but I'll cancel it. The board is really cool, also the deck boxes and all of the other stuff, but the English cards are unfortunately some kind of disappointing. ☹
@@TheGamingDandy some of the cards are not tournament legal because are not listed as part of the game for play It could also be because they are over powered or useless 😅
I like it. The only downside is the inconsistency with the cards. Some classic and some not-classic cards. Puls the EX cards they went with were totally random. I own those exact deck boxes, but mine is an Ultra Pro Pikachu and I bought it at Walmart for like 20 or 25 dollars back in like 2016.
It kills me that they decided to keep it exactly the same as the Japanese set, only with worse looking cards. If it was english cards with all cards having the same gold-shiny borders, I'd have probably bought it...
Beautiful cards, but no matter how much the fomo hits the price just makes me not able to justify it. I feel like I'm not in the minority there. Such a shame. Also very odd they did away with the gold borders from the Japanese versions.
People complain about the price of this box but yet People are paying hundreds and thousands for Jordans when it costs a couple of bucks to make same thing if u like it buy it who cares its the fan base why prices are the way they are
Is that all the classic cards? I don't get why it's so expensive and still going on. Can get carried away with buying them individual or even packs of $10. It's pretty fun game. I just play the online game on the site or app. I think the new cards are to strong. Can't play the low end cards much.
this is exactly what i'd want, just a casual way to play the tcg with people instead of having to research. why the hell does it cost £400. these cards arent tournament legal i bet it is not just me who wants to play tcg with friends and family and doesnt care about competitive. i would love something like this but it's absurdly expensive
@@smashcafe_ Sorry but I gotta correct this, they do fit double sleeved. I used dragon shield inner sleeves just now and it fits the deck perfectly. Just had to squeeze the air out in the card sleeves.
So, did they put the Venusaur, Blastoise and Charizard in the middle of the decks to force people to open the packs instead of leaving them sealed? Kinda shitty they did that.
I’m so confused by this product. It’s £400 here in UK (slightly cheaper in some place) described as a “classic collection” and has 3 decks that have absolutely zero relevance to anything classic. Sure there’s a few base set classic cards but they’ve been packed with a bunch of random stuff and a few cheap looking accessories and from what it sounds like in your video, a rather bang average box. Who exactly is this for? Some of the cards look cool and you did say that centering and stuff looks good but that should be the case any way for any old £/$4 pack of cards. I’m sure some people will enjoy this, but I hope it ends up in bargain basements heavily discounted eventually
I was expecting all the old classic arts then there some random arts I’ve never seen before 🤣🤣 400 too is crazy I would buy these just for the collection stand point if they were cheaper to remind me of being a kid but price is way too high
Is this $800 in Australia? Rather overpriced if you ask me, yeah, we all want to relive collecting the base set, but not for that price it's getting ridiculous
I bought 3 of this for collection. I am hoping in 5 to 10 years this will be hard to find and sell high for profit. I boight mines for 350 instead of 400😂😂😂

I speak and read Japanese pretty fluently as I have studied it all the way to N1. The English text does have a nicer (subjectively) font. The spacing is better. Most importantly, the English cards feel a bit more “old”. The Japanese one looks too glossy. But hey it’s about 1/2 the price. Just financially at least, the English release is a bit of a rip-off. I kinda feel this is one of those 'collectors' items that is more for fake collectors who buy in to the hype or are obsessed with nostalgia. It's a cool piece but it's nothing amazing. For people who actually play they would never use this due to size and bulkyness
