Why are they on the brakes if they are trying to go as fast as possible? Is it to keep the RPM's in the correct area? This is done by a few Flat Track Motorcycle Racers.
When they get on the brake it goes to left rear this helps keep the car straighter in the corners. There still on the gas but there tapping that brake creating a little drag so they don't miss the bottom.

Brad Sweet's car always has its brakes glowing every race. He must use a helluva lot of brake pads every race. Maybe that's why he's so fast every week. He was glowing at Knoxville Nationals too.
