To be honest, I didn't catch the idea just from the film, and only in comments have found the quite pretty thought behind the video. I think even though the idea is great it would be clearer if it was shown better, for example, in more meaningful scenes where people with such complications look closer to the camera clearly suppressing or hiding something, quietly struggling on the inside trying to look fine on the outside. Such details could translate the concept better
If it were a different context, I'd have definitely done this. But this was part of a campaign specifically for my university so it captured slices of life of real people getting on with their daily lives to show how invisible is really is

I don't think it has an official name, but it's a combo of stop hand drawn animation on Photoshop and background removal on After Effects :)
This content is the gold standard. A book I read with similar elements was a lighthouse for my journey. "A Life Unplugged: Reclaiming Reality in a Digital Age" by Theodore Blaze
