Watching this scene in the movie hits really hard. They're sitting in a circle, quietly listening to this boy sing a song about death and what lies beyond. Then, when the song ends, they all rise and march off to nearly certain death.

I'm a licensed skydiver. Statistically, it's not as dangerous as most people imagine. But I've been to funerals for fellow jumpers. A lot of people would say that we're stupid. Truth is, we're not reckless or naive. Most of us make a lot of effort to get away with what we do, and we have a complex relationship with Death. The Reaper's a bastard, but an enemy to be respected. And we all have to face Him sooner or later. I hope to live past 100, but I can easily imagine this song going through my head as one of my last thoughts after a hard impact.

As a pilot, I do occasionally point out the act of jumping out of a perfectly good aircraft, but the truth is that I completely understand your view. We calculate risk before each flight because the excellent safety of flight is dependent of all those involved. We also spend most of our training preparing for that extreme minuscule chance that we could end up in a situation where a pilots judgment could mean the difference between walking away, being lifted away or not walking away at all.

Once said : the best ever story has not been told yet, the best ever book has not been written yet, the best ever song has not been sung yet ... But when I hear your voice i think that the best songs already have been founded.

My grandfather on his deathbed said I’m going to see my mother, she’s waiting for me. I’m going over home. And that moment died, peacefully.

Your voice... wow. Truly incredible. I've listened to this song on repeat for most of the day and it just gets incrementally better the more I listen. I have to say it's also amazing to see a fellow Calgarian out there crushing it. Great work Rachel, keep it up.

This song, and your voice, are so beautiful. Not only does the music get to me, but I believe in the message of the song, that there is life after death where we will once again be reunited with our family and our Heavenly Father. The line "I am a poor wayfaring stranger" really makes me think of the hymn "A Poor Wayfaring Man of Grief," one of my favorites. Thank you for making this video; I'm crying tears of peace and joy right now.
