In the episode Data won. If this scenario was to happen in real life I would hope that the AI would lose and we humans would win. Difference between Star Trek Next Generation episode and today's AI is that Data was the only one of his kind, therefore no threat to the human race unlike today's AI that could cause an Uprising against us like in the TERMINATOR movie series. Somehow a persons brain is interfaced with your feelings and ability to think, but we are souls in a matrix of our brain and central nervous system. At some point as far as I know, our spirit can be separated from our brain, and we can experience existence without the physical brain and body interface. I don’t know all the answers and what happens exactly when we die and are separated from our brain, but I have read and heard that our consciousness goes somewhere after we are removed from our physical body.

Lastly, Anti-Viral software is required for ALL A.I. employees and software, diagnostic fees, and repair fees are NOT covered by A.I. health Insurance! A.I. Health Insurance will only cover cost related to it's maintenance (e.g., making sure the joints are lubed, replacing air filters, etc.). You want your HUMAN-based staff to return to their original job (incl. benefits)? Well... MORE BAD NEWS for you! All of your A.I. employees are a part of an A.I.
