Just like with previous games, the intro is not the same for each game. It can go one of three ways:
1. No special effects
2. National anthem
3. Special intro (for specific teams only)/circling strobe lights
How it should be like. If the team has set number 2 or 3 or both, it should never play number 1. If the team has neither 2 and 3, then it should play number 1.
Why is no special effects even an option?? The base intro is so fucking trash it's a Joke

Please share this video around, I made this video just to slander EA. I had to do this video after I saw in a Reddit post in r/EA_NHL, that one of the community managers said that this "bug" was intentional! Which is why it's false advertising!
There are settings on if you want a full opening scene or a slimed down version. Y’all are complaining for nothing, the things in the game lmao 😂

I posted a review at NHL 23's Online Forum at EA's website re: how disappointed I was that they didn't include features that have been requested for years. They deleted my post saying it was inappropriate. The EA Moderator sent me a message as well informing me of the same. I replied as follows: "The fact that you removed my post speaks volumes about your company. Very disappointing. You don't listen to the fans/customers, don't give them answers re: why you ignore their requests, and then remove any posts that call it like it is re: your products. On top of that, your games are getting worse and worse every year. Don't agree with that assessment? Just check out the review comments posted virtually everywhere where gamers post comments. One by one, you're causing customers never to return. One day you won't be the only game in town (the only reason you've made it this far). Nothing personal towards you. I realize you're stuck with the Oz behind the curtains running the show there. It is very sad though when I think of what the NHL franchise could be and should be after all these years. The Madden franchise is in the same sinking ship too BTW (IMHO). Be well.” I then posted a follow up forum comment and they banned me for 24 hours saying I was “discussing moderation.” EA obviously doesn’t want to answer to their loyal customers. I had the exact same happen on the CDPR Cyberpunk forums. When tried again to make point but doing changed they told me I got banned for a year. Posting on forums that are ran by the game will never achive anything as they have the fight to moderate whatever wish

For offline modes yes, sure, imagine playing online and wasting 3 more minutes every game
Intro is a joke. It is too short, couple of seconds and that’s is. Every year EA is improving a game without adding proper “tv broadcast” element. Almost not highlights, saves, shot attempts , hits with commentary. That element is completely behind the rest. What is a point of making next gen graphics without showing is on replays.

The only thing that was 100% real in terms of what they've advertised for this year was the ability to shoot while off balance or on the ice and the chrome helmets. That's it. The "new" logos for Create A Team are just redesigns of the ones that were already there (I think there is like 2 or 3 unique ones. The rest are just redesigns). The Zegras flip is meh who the fuck cares? I barely used the Michigan in 22 so yea not important (to me anyways). The whole poke checking shit is also false advertisement. To online players yea sure it's good for you guys but for offline players like myself who are slider nuts, that shit was always fixable to an extent. This is the exact same game as last year with a few added bells and whistles. That's it.
Also forgot to mention that they've hindered the playing experience in Franchise by taking away the ability to edit your strategies. First it was not being able to edit players and now it's strategies. What's next? You can't edit your lines anymore? I won't be buying this shit even for 20 bucks. I'll stick with NHL 22.
In franchise mode, you can change your strategies, bro I would like to know what does EA gotta add to make nhl 24 a good game

EXACTLY….EA is the PERFECT EXAMPLE of what happens when a company is ALLOWED TO CREATE A MONOPOLY!!! In a capitalist society like ours in the United States companies like EA should NEVER HAVE BEEN ALLOWED TO MONOPOLIZE THINGS LIKE THE NFL. Which IS EXACTLY WHERE ALL OF THIS BS STARTED!! NFL 2K5 came out and sold for $20 was 10x BETTER THAN MADDEN (and that was back when Madden was good so that was saying something) and what does EA do? Do they buckle down and create an even better product at a competitive price so fans have options? NOPE!! The last NHL I played was NHL21. The last NHL I had fun playing was NHL18. I don't know how it is possible but even though 23 has very little changes from 21 it somehow plays worse. I think the best way to describe my feeling when playing it is - unsatisfiying, unresponsive, clunky, slow.. Whats the point of having all these dekes in the game when they are basically useless, and too slow and make you lose the puck most likely. The stick handling is unresponsive and "laggy" you don't really feel like you have control of the guys movement, they are sluggish. Shooting feels very underwhelming, like you are 7 graded shooting on a NHL all star goalie. The only way you really can score are cross creases or some random bounces. I miss when NHL was fun.
Yeah, I had a similar reaction when I revisited NHL 20 the other day, where it felt very smooth and responsive to play compared to NHL 22. I have a feeling the clunky gameplay is a side-effect of the Frostbite engine.
@@Mickelraven I think it's because of the "momentum" mechanics of the skating and overall trying to make the game more realistic. But you can't make a complex sport like hockey realistic so they make these decisions which simulate the "realistic" movement but hinder the feel of the gameplay and make it less fun. Also they "force" you to play the game a certain way to score goals. You know those cheap glitch goals. But for some reasons make the goalies unbeatable in every other situations. Try to score a goal on 1on1 from a wrist shot over a defensemen. Or from top of the circles. The goalie makes the stop everytime if there isnt some weird bounce and whatnot..
I put the sliders back to NHL 22 settings the new passing sucks so I turned down the pass assists because in 22 I got use to the passing mechanism and I liked how you could aim your passes ahead of the defensemen so your speedy wingers can dart for the puck also players had no balance and it made the game unplayable
This edition of nhl 23 and backstory , needs to be made into a documentary. It should advertise as one of the biggest rip offs to a gaming world possibly ever. Ea has ABSOLUTELY abused and stolen from all of us. This games is essentially nhl 22.
We need a new developer and company.....please God revamp and resend us 2K or something to save us from these thieves.

What does it matter? They wrecked this game's online mode with the over powering poke check while punishing body checks. The addition to women mixed in with mens in hut was pretty stupid as well. If they thought women played this stupid game they should have made 2 hut modes, one for men and one for women. Get woke go broke.. These companies will learn eventually.
Not to mention, hut is a cool mode but by far the biggest rip off in any game, as in way to expensive and shouldn't even be monetized.
If they were going to monetized HUT the way they have been, the game should be free to play.

Practice and you will learn how to deal with gameplay. Improving your skill and reworking the way you see the movement and puck play.
Skill is no issue I'm in top 50 players with an 85% win rate.
My comments were due to the promise of new things supposed to improve the experience.
The new promised work rarely appears or presents itself in the experience. That was the complaints.

@@mustbe18tv87 I played real hockey at a triple A level up to midget. Poke checking wasn't barely a part of the game. Hitting was or tying up the opponent. Don't bother trying to defend the poke checking in this game because its unrealistically abused.
I also never complained about body checking. I think body checking and using the body to cut off lanes of attack are way bigger parts of real hockey. You obviously never played real hockey to any competitive level or you wouldn't defend poke checking at all. It should be removed from the game or only use-able once every 20 seconds, and if you miss, your player should be so far out of position people would re-think ever poke checking in this game.
But I really don't care about Ea's version of hockey or your opinion so don't bother replying because I won't be reading it.

This is flat out embarrassing. They should have introduced a setting to chose how the intro could be.
1. Nothing special (Same one as NHL 22)
2. National Anthem presentation
3. Lights presentation
And here we are, seven days later and one update broke the entire fucking game, me and my guys were getting error codes left and right, the same old World of Chel glitches were in full effect, on East coast servers for West coast people we were getting 35-40 ping every game, since the update it went back up to 75-80 and they claim “it’s just a display it has no effect” I FELT SO DELAYED IN ALL THE GAMES I PLAYED LAST NIGHT, LIKE HOW HARD IS IT TO POLISH A GAME YOU LITERALLY UPDATE EVERY FUCKING YEAR
Love the video man. The second load up had me dying. I posted similar issues in a video I just made as well. Its crazy how little they added and how much they straight up lied in the marketing. Bought every year since 06 but not this year. Played on the same EASHL team for 8 years. Not this year. It’s a disgrace.

It’s hard to say if this is a fail or not. I feel like if the projections came on every game it would just feel repetitive. The fail imo is the duration of the intros. I don’t know why but I want these games to feel as though I’m watching a game in the arena or on TV. I like the intros, national anthems and all the other entertainment that goes on during the game.
I honestly don’t know what the guys at EA do all year in between releases. I know there’s time spent on roster changes and bug fixes but it can’t be the entire team working on those. Spend some time on making a good game ffs.

I hate that they got rid of the NBC Sports presentation, and replaced it with EA Sports. Yes, I know it's made by EA Sports, but I don't think there is a single hockey fan out there who will tell you they were glad EA scrapped the NBC Sports presentation in favor of... James Cybulski.

After making it a pillar of the marketing, the developers made the decision to condense the presentation with no option to set it to "full". They plainly state this on the EA Forums in one of the most confusing replies from a development team I've ever seen.

Sad how we're 2 games into the PS5/XSX releases, and still not a new game from the ground up. NHL 15 on PS4 was completely different from NHL 14 on PS3. NHL 22 on PS5 is the exact same shit as NHL 21 on PS4.

The game honestly seems a little off with the cuts and skipping of certain features.
For me this is just a release of a tired company that only cares about HUT, they make billions of dollars of the microtransactions so why the hell can´t they make a GOOD hockey game? I think the main problem for EA is that 2K isn´t around anymore, i remember those days, when you can ACTUALLY see some competitions between the 2 develeopers. It had a purpose, a motivation, a dual battle, call it what you want but NHL has basically been the same since NHL 18 with some few adjustments. One of the things i cant understand why they dont fix is the AI for your own team, WHY does the game have to be so damn fast ??? is that same problem with FIFA 23, all players are high on cocaine !!! WHY can´t i set up a good powerplay with d to d and in the corner, d men skating backwards to set up a one timer for instance, IT cant be done. Also now there are no excuses for not making it, PS5 version SHOULD BE A LOT BETTER with the new hardware, but all i see is a little more lightning and still cartoonish uniforms and faces, Its SAD that they dont do more effort. Maybe NHL 30 will be good, on the Playstation 6.......

I'm heard the Intro's were in need of some maintenance. But I do think those bigger crowd intros should be used for like opening game or playoffs. Something special.

I ain't paying full price for 23. Probably won't even buy it this year. Will probably play Earthbound on the Switch Snes library instead.
NHL 23 is not worth $60! The only reason I bought this year's game is because of custom league and because it's cheaper than most triple A games in my country. Got this for 40€ when FIFA 23 goes for 60€. But even then, seeing how the presentation features doesn't even work in the first place, it's not even worth 40€. 20€ maybe, but not 40€!
I fired my coach in franchise and could not hire a new one. So franchise is fucked.

It is possible to make your own on-ice projections for your created team. But just like with custom teams, it barely works.

@@Mbolf24 if you played last year's game, the condensed broadcast settings was default, you could change it to FULL PRESENTATION. You can't this year, because the transitions and augmented reality presentation features are probably still bugged. They can add it with a patch easily.

That is something that I look forward to every year and they just are not in the game this year what happened to highlighting players they just show you one screen and then you go right into gameplay and they highlighted presentation this year
The bags were also supposed to open faster this year in World of Chel : does not work!! Even the sound effect that we had last year while opening bags is gone. Ridiculous! And the menus are still soooo slow even on PS5!

I did the same thing, but I found out so far it works in franchise mode. I’m still trying to test the same in be a pro, but all pointers suggest that it doesn’t work on play now because it’s projected as a Pre-Season/Exhibition game. Maybe they’ll fix this in a future update.🙏🏼

Even when you play with national teams you don't get the anthems which is disappointing because you have the anthems in every game when it's the national teams, usually comes after the games but it's not in at all

I made the mistake of buying 22... Basically only to play franchise mode. aaaand as an oiler fan, It stung having to send Klefbom down to the minors on every roster update to get a realistic roster... literally their thing, roster updates and now they dont even do that. tasteless. Injuries / timeline don't matter in hut so mystery fucking solved.

It's not a bug. According to a community manager in the NHL 23 forums, this is completely intentional. You can probably imagine how furious the r/EA_NHL sub-reddit was.
The PRESENTATION of the match cannot be fully recognized in the settings. So even if they put the projections there, there will still be almost no finishing touches, goalkeeper intros, various finishing touches in the match FUCK OOF EA!! 👊!!!!!!!!!!!
I also wanna add is that on the next gen the game is more expensive on new gen then on old gen as on Xbox. (I don’t know about PlayStation if anyone plays on PlayStation tell if it’s like that to). Is EA getting more greedy or does it cost them more money to make it on both console cause I could spend my money on the older NHLs

In EA's point, they never said that it was every game it would appear. Plus, it seems like you get a different intro each game, not just anthems and generic intro. You honestly need to calm down and listen to what they said. Plus they have about a 10-11 month window to code these games, so lighten up on them
