There was so much secret messages in this. The end flashed like the White House, Jonathan came out wearing Magat red, the black glove and Beret on was for the Black Panther Party outfit which is what a group in the 60’s wore to combat racial police violence, the all black wardrobe is like mourning for the current state of the country, the bullet is a warning for what’s to come, etc. soooo much under the surface of this

Its the "History has it's eyes on you" that just gave me chills. If you think about it 2015 was the last year we had in the US that wasn't a train wreck. Crazy how much can change in 10 years, and this show just hits even harder.
Just before anyone can say anything, not directed toward the person who commented this, 2016 could be considered a train wreck for either political party, because Democrats disliked Trump and wanted him out, and Republicans hated Democrats and their views and wanted Democratic views out.
There is something about the entrance of Hercules Mulligan that chokes me up every time. It doesn't make sense, but it just gets me. I appreciated all the choices in this performance. The only highlight they didn't have was, "immigrants, we get the job done."

All of the symbolism, up to ending with “George Washington”, a man whose most significant contribution to our political system was the peaceful transition of power by stepping down because he never wanted a king to run this country singing “history has its eyes on you…” over “he will never be satisfied.” Brilliant. Absolutely brilliant.

I’m 76 yrs old and never understood rap music. But I was extremely curious about Hamilton and took a chance on it. I didn’t think I would be able to understand what they were saying. BUT WOW! I LOVED IT. I smile just thinking about the perfection of it all, and this brings it all back. I smiled and found myself punching my fist into the air throughout! I feel lucky to have witnessed Hamilton live. So much talent involved in putting on a production like this!

OHHHHH the symbolism. 2:40 "the world turned upside down" while the lights are bright red, directly after "I get the - back up again" bit, transitioning immediately to Leslie Odom Junior singing "I wanna be in the room where it happens" while the lights slowly turn BLUE in a shape RESEMBLING THE WHITE HOUSE, then skipping right to "we dream of a brand new start, but we dream in the dark for the most part". AMAZING. Purposefully including "I know that we can win, I know that greatness lies in you," as he POINTS TO THE AUDIENCE then as mentioned by others the melody calling us to action. I see the "History has it's eyes on you" not as a reminder to Trump, but a reminder to US. History is watching, just as they watched our founding fathers, and we cannot throw away our shot. These younger generations, especially gen z currently, are the hope for this country. We need to fix this country while we still can before it is ruined beyond fixing. I myself, am disappointed in what this country is turning out as because of the president. He's 'making America great again'. We haven't been great for a while. Although I absolutely love this musical, the fact that tears are streaming down my face right now is not about this reunion. It is about the fact that the last time this cast performed these songs, things still made some semblance of sense in this godforsaken country.
I find it sad that a decade ago their first Tony performance was the day after the pulse nightclub shooting. Here we are a decade later with riots in LA due to unfair immigration laws. The hope in the midst of such pain and turmoil is still poignant.
Beret & one glove...not accidental. There was a duality in it's purpose: a nod to Lafayette's French heritage, as well as calling out another revolutionary party that focused on fighting against racial & social injustices & the right to defend oneself from oppression. Not a word was spoken but the symbolism was so powerful that the message was received loudly & clearly: “You're not to be so blind with patriotism that you can't face reality. Wrong is wrong, no matter who does it or says it.” ~“All of our people have the same goals, the same objective: freedom, justice, equality. All of us want recognition and respect as human beings.”~"A man who stands for nothing will fall for anything." ~Malcom X BPP. And everyone in black--symbolic of mourning the demise of democracy as the founders fought to establish here--only the king wore color...and he was in red. Red: the color associated with danger, violence, bloodshed, and oft associated with regimes of oppression or tyranny. Anyone and everyone who played a part in the decisions behind costume design added extra poignancy that caught my breath and drew tears. Layers of meaning felt deep in my soul. Stunning.

I've watched this so many times. So much symbolism related to what's going in our country right now. The performances were top notch, Ari Debose came back as the bullet. The whole performance is perfection

I’m a huge fan of Hamilton and seeing the original cast come back to perform is the best. I watch the movie on repeat (I’m might be a tad obsessed but whatever) I’m so glad they brought back the original cast, and I’m glad they brought back the song History has its eyes on you. ❤❤
It's so amazing and nostalgic. I loved seeing everyone, even the people who look like they aged backwards. My muscle memory also came back with Daveed during Guns and Ships 😭😂

I've never seen anyone do George Washington with the same kind of presence that Chris commands every minute he's on stage as Washington. He nailed that role.
This was amazing and I loved hearing the ROAR of the audience for each performer as they were revealed, like the best rock concert ever. So much love, respect, excitement and celebration. Thank you Lin-Manuel and company. How lucky we are to be alive right now.

This was pure joy to watch! Daveed looked genuinely happy to be leaping off that desk again and everyone was as inspiring as ever. Goosebumps! (I imagine there were loads of happy tears shed during rehearsals. What a treat!)

LMM’s father was/is majorly politically active in democratic politics and advocacy. Lin is political, Hamilton is political, and last night was a very purposeful statement to the viewers about the current state of affairs. I hope their message is taken to heart.
The way they pieced all the numbers together was BEAUTIFUL Made me tear up from all the nostalgia. Got constant chills with each appearance, and even tho they weren't in costume, the formal suits/dresses made it so much more badass. Man I miss the og Hamilton cast so much. Much thanks to CBS for making this happen, and to all the cast who appeared together. I definitely needed this at this time💙 (the only downer was how only Anthony Ramos didn't get his own performance...not even a close-up shot):

I LOVED IT. I smile just thinking about the perfection of it all, and this brings it all back. I smiled and found myself punching my fist into the air throughout! I feel lucky to have witnessed Hamilton live. So much talent involved in putting on a production like this!

I've watched this so many times. So much symbolism related to what's going in our country right now. The performances were top notch, Ari Debose came back as the bullet. The whole performance is perfection

I've never seen anyone do George Washington with the same kind of presence that Chris commands every minute he's on stage as Washington. He nailed that role.
This was amazing and I loved hearing the ROAR of the audience for each performer as they were revealed, like the best rock concert ever. So much love, respect, excitement and celebration. Thank you Lin-Manuel and company. How lucky we are to be alive right now.
