I used sit at the dinner table watching these steam engines going across the swamp. In 1983 my brother Allan Black and myself Collin Black held the banner at East Greta Junction with SMR 22 steaming through it. Thank you for the trip down memory lane. 👍
Memories of late childhood day and early teens , I manged to score a job ( through my late brother , at the coal washery , working on the in-loader, the money was good and the job was great !
Great footage, I remember working in Clipstone colliery loaded sidings with a 08 shunted trying to pull loaded wagons out to the sorting sidings at Clipstone west, Slipping and sliding over crossings with a foot of slurry covering them interesting times mid winter middle of night raining nice!
At the 46 minute mark, Locos 24 and 25 together, both destined for the than-future Richmond Vale Railway Museum. But a video by David Threlfo showed the eventual fate of No.25.
Sadly, many of those wooden coal hoppers(if not all) were destroyed in a fire caused by louts joyriding, then torching a stolen car in the bush near the Richmond Vale Railway Museum in mid-September, 2017.
Liked watching this especially as never saw working steam
