My brother went to their show here in W.V. and met them back stage. He had a Type O decal of them they signed for him. He gave it to me one year for my birthday. I still have it.
I got to shake his hand and briefly tell him and Josh what his music meant to me on their RoadRage tour with Coal Chamber. Hands down the greatest show I've ever seen, still to this day. I saw them about 12 times after that, but the combo of Coal Chamber opening and meeting Peter and Josh made that night the bestest!

The unfortunate reality is that anyone making this kind of music independently is simply not going to pay all the bills by only doing this as it's not commercially viable. Therefore it does technically become a hobby (which is perfectly fine) & other forms of income must be found. But I wish I had tons of money to give talented ppl like this a mansion, I believe they deserve it. I only took issue with your first comment as 1) there's nothing sad about this guy, I'm sure he's not stupid to not know about how the music business works. And 2) doing what you say is a good idea for him to do will definitely not give him financial freedom. I'm not saying there's no money in it, just not enough for him to be rolling in the dough which is financial freedom. These types of artists always need another source of income unfortunately. Seriously commend you sir. Im a life long typo fan and just played this one loud as all hell without watching. For a minute i thought Peter came back. The day he died has a strange memory. I was at the Roadburn doom/stoner festival. Peter died that same weekend and on the day the volcano in Iceland exploded. Many bands didn't make it to the venue and were replaced because the airplanes could not fly due to the dust cloud from the volcano. That volcano was dubbed as Peter's dying last breath that entire weekend and all the bands paid homage to him.
As much as I love these interpretations, there’s always that one thing missing from making them perfect Type O recreations; That tweak of discordant feedback you always hear from the guitars before the riffs and chords blast out. Add those, and these would be PERFECT

It's like Type O Negative is releasing new music. You should try "Change in the House of Flies" by the Deftones. That would blend two of my most favorite bands. However, I can get enough of this.
Deftones put to this treatment would work very, very well I figure - and no shortage of good tracks to choose from that would work. Deftones have also covered some quite diverse stuff themselves so I think they would appreciate it!

Was waiting for the "you know he aint gonna die" in a Kenny Hickey style scream.. I think it needed the "Ooouuuuuu" parts harmonized like Josh and Kenny usually do. Great "what if" but I think it needed more of other Type O members than just Pete. Your bass tone is spot on though. Dracula style singing was a bit over done.
Not only is the delivery one of the most convincing examples of vocal imitation, the interpretation of what a cover song might sound like by Type O is a new and worthy creation in itself. There are three obvious routes to follow from here: (1) You keep doing this RUclips thing, which is fine by me; (2) you reassemble Type O somehow and fill the very large shoes of Pete (I believe Josh is an EMT now, so that might be difficult); (3) or you get the blessing to release a LP of covers performed by “Type O”. Hey Denis. I really like your covers, you are the only musician that I ever heard to get this close to sounding like TON. However, I have one remark. In all the “sound like Type o negative” covers, you tend to fall into the same dynamic, which makes the cover a bit predictable after some time. I think you should try adding some Peter style screams, or changing the tempo of some song more drastically to avoid this one-dimensional feel. Anyway, that’s just my opinion/advice. Doesn’t mean I’m right
I kept waiting for the screams, or at least more of a vocal push when the band kicked in. If it had that, you wouldn't be able to play this for me and tell me it wasn't Type O. But it's just missing those few things to really make it legendary.

at 8:06 If i were engineering this, I would have had the harmonics slice in right here and the heavy guitars with full keyboards slam in, and then screaming vocals...You forget, Peter Steel could scream....you never once raised the octave in this version. Was waiting for the "you know he aint gonna die" in a Kenny Hickey style scream.. I think it needed the "Ooouuuuuu" parts harmonized like Josh and Kenny usually do. Great "what if" but I think it needed more of other Type O members than just Pete. Your bass tone is spot on though. Dracula style singing was a bit over done.

Not only is the delivery one of the most convincing examples of vocal imitation, the interpretation of what a cover song might sound like by Type O is a new and worthy creation in itself. There are three obvious routes to follow from here: (1) You keep doing this RUclips thing, which is fine by me; (2) you reassemble Type O somehow and fill the very large shoes of Pete (I believe Josh is an EMT now, so that might be difficult); (3) or you get the blessing to release a LP of covers performed by “Type O”. Nailed it man! Got to be honest, I was waiting for the typical TON outro of the droning harmonic vocals behind Peter's octave change and slightly louder guitars and keyboard synth.
Hey Denis. I really like your covers, you are the only musician that I ever heard to get this close to sounding like TON.
However, I have one remark. In all the “sound like Type o negative” covers, you tend to fall into the same dynamic, which makes the cover a bit predictable after some time. I think you should try adding some Peter style screams, or changing the tempo of some song more drastically to avoid this one-dimensional feel.
Anyway, that’s just my opinion/advice. Doesn’t mean I’m right
I kept waiting for the screams, or at least more of a vocal push when the band kicked in. If it had that, you wouldn't be able to play this for me and tell me it wasn't Type O. But it's just missing those few things to really make it legendary.
