Hey my e82 drift bro! Your editing is getting so good 🔥 Hope you are doing well, also your 135i. Btw your hikes are epic - I need to start doing that too ha ha. Great for health and connecting with nature ✨
I’ve question about your Quaife: what oil do you use? My oil looks bad when I change after 15,000-20,000mi with Red Line 75W90NS. I do lot of racing and drifting too.
Also I wanna ask you, would you choose Quaife again or clutch plate LSD if you install again?
    ✌️

Hello Brother! Thank you very much! Lately, I've been spending more time in the mountains, going on epic trips, but my passion for drift is still very much alive. I exclusively use BMW OEM differential oil for OPEN differentials (without additives). In fact, I use FEBI Bilstein 75w90 oil, which is virtually identical to the one branded by BMW, but it saves you some money. If I were to take a step back, I would give a chance to the WAVETRAC differential, which is similar to the Quaife LSD but comes with the addition of a mechanical lock that ensures a 100% lockup. The Quaife works well, but it has the slight drawback of not locking up if one of the inside wheels loses too much torque. The WAVETRAC, on the other hand, retains the advantages of the traditional Quaife while solving this issue. Due to this Quaife drawback, I had to stick with the original rear anti-roll bar, especially on rough and narrow roads where I didn't have the locking in certain conditions. In general, I've never had major issues with the oil, but recently, I encountered some problems with bad oil after overhauling the differential (replacing bearings and gaskets). So, I sent it back. I'll let you know when everything's back to normal.

@@3diablo3 Good to hear from you man! Awesome, do you usually hike solo on the mountains? I’m happy you still have passion for drift. Ohhh niiice I didn’t know about the FEBI Bilstein as BMW oil. I like my Quaife but yeahhh I wish I got Wavetrac too! On turns such as T3a @Sonoma Raceway, my rear right wheel lifts and slows me down. But it works very well most of the time. If you ever change the diff, let me know lol! I’ve thought about changing to clutch based LSD, but because you drift so well with your Torsen, it inspires me to keep mine hahaha. My Quaife had an issue too a few years ago (leaking axle seal). Yeah let me know when everything’s back to normal!

Ciao!
