For people don’t know.
Years ago Wendy went on a variety show and mimicked stereotypes of Black Women, Black Men, and White Women. There was a lot of backlash, but what really pushed people over the adge is when Wendy did it again on radio show.
Wendy showed no remorse and has never apologized til this day. There are rumors that Wendy apologized at fan sign after a fan explained to her the validity of disrespect ful actions she chose to make those days, but there is no proof of the apology.
Also even if it did happen, it is not an acceptable form of apology. Wendy chose to perpetuate hurtful stereotypes on national Korean TV and radio to a community that is already very much discriminatory towards foreigners with puts alot of people in worst situations and downgrades their quality of life in Korea and the Korean community.
Wendy is public figure and it was irresponsible of her to do such disrepectful and hurtful things. Also she never apologized not once. People are blaming SM for her not apologizing, but Wendy is almost 30yrs old now and still hasn’t apologized.
She even has her own radio show now and never addressed it once smh. So this is why alot of people do not like Wendy still to this day. I have not listened to RV since the day the second incident happened.

@@MakatakYT I think they meant sample in the sense that the producer plays one of her parts as a sample and guide so that the members get a feel of how they should sound for that specific part

Yes, Wendy is the MAIN vocalist for a.reason, but as a group their harmonization is crazy, their vocals, live, supporting, adlibs, etc.. are phenomenal and the group wouldn't feel the same without Wendy or Seulgi or Joy or Irene or Yeri. Don't start pitting fans against each other
The sad thing is that everyone has already imaged Wendy as just an idol, the vocalist of a girl group, many don't realize that she is actually a singer, technically and mentally. A true musician with heart and soul.

I been knew. I think she is one of the best vocalist in South Korea. Her last Immortal Songs 2 performances puts her in a class of her own. Her vocals are phenomenal!
True! Many may see her only as an Idol but I see her as an artist and a singer. She's one of the best singers ever. Not just in kpop.
I can totally see her as a vocal director/trainer in sm to other groups as well when she decides to stop being an idol or even just during their hiatus as rv
This is why SM can't let go of Wendy. She's not just the typical main vocalist. The amount of workload that girl has in the recording booth is almost burdensome, and she works tirelessly. It's already in 9th year of Red Velvet and SM still hasn't found someone who can continue the genius and hardworking legacy of Wendy.
I genuinely hope she isn't trapped to the recording booth in that company. Her voice deserves to be heard far and wide. And I really need her full R&B album, please.
I spent some time as an engineer behind the console in recording studios before, and I can tell you this: Red Velvet are the ideal artists to work with. They are not only just as meticulous as the engineer is regarding the small details, but they're also highly skilled and practiced at their craft which makes the recording process SO much easier and faster. RV deserves recognition for their talent. They're incredible.

it's true what knetz said that red velvet's instrument are their voices. each member literally had to use their voice to blend with their own voice and the adlibs is just pure perfection. also the fact that they will repeat their verse if they're not satisfied with how it sounds and not just sing and go.
Imagine if we had a Vocal recording for their Vocal Flex B-sides like Kingdom Come, La Rouge, You Better Know, Little Little, Sunny Afternoon, Sassy Me etc etc.

Revisited this and noticed how each member holds their timbre as a part of the whole vocal. Irene and Seulgi being the dark, mellow vocals while Joy and Yeri giving the bright colours. Wendy is in the middle holding both timbres together, which is why shes the "backbone" of the vocals.
Wendy is just beyond everything vocal in kpop.

i love how irene owns the low and middle harmonies, same with seulgi. also, wendy’s vocal layering is insane!! her ear for harmonies is amazing. yeri’s vocals have improved so much, especially with her tone. and miss lovely joy, her voice is definitely the icing on the cake, her unique voice is definitely needed.

이렇게 모아보니까 레드벨벳 멤버들 전부 다 목소리가 보석이네.. 기교도 물론이고 느낌을 어떻게 저렇게 잘 살리지?? 특히 코러스는 반주빼고 녹음한 부분만 모아서 듣고싶을 정도! 레코딩 비하인드 너무 소중하다 코러스 부분만 반나절 하는데 소리 좀만 더 키워줘도 좋았을 듯 화음이 다채롭고 음색합이 너무 좋다

I love these videos that show us the process! Wendy is freaking amazing and blows me away with her skill. She’s literally the backbone of the group. We’ve seen her record the demo guide for their songs before and then so effortlessly adding layers, adlibs and harmonies 🤯 the producers seem like so much fun to work with as well. Such a positive and fun work environment!
