    I've seen a few people mention it here, but it's worth noting that innkeepers and bakers sell really really really good food for as little as 150orens a piece. (Pro tip: if it's not listed as "fresh", then it doesn't rot). Visiting cities, doing a few quests, getting money and using it for buffing yourself as you travel (rather than using travel rations or cheap steaks you cook on the field) will make you much more powerful over time. It's one of the few things worth buying from vendors in towns, in my opinion.
    Also, would it be possible for you to add video chapters to these tutorials? You cover a lot of topics in each video, and it'd be nice if you used video chapters to title each segment (in case I want to look back at a tutorial part later, for example).
    Keep up the great work on these tutorials!

      You can invest in NPC shops to make them carry better stuff, making it a viable alternative if you don't wanna engage with the basebuilding side and know how to get a decent cashflow. A few things to keep in mind tho:
      >shit's expensive as fuck
      >get Persuasion and join the Merchant's Guild, investing progresses both
      >investing into a town through the mayor is MORE expensive, but ups the levels of all the shops within
      >if you want your shops close at hand, you can nab shopkeepers and a mayor for your own base
      >and yes, you can invest in those too

    The Bonito Flakes tip was new. Awesome. Effective way to make lots of wine.
    But if you want to turn fish into seasoning/sauce for cooking, however, put it in the Millstone with a piece of seaweed. It will give you 4-5 bottles of soy sauce that combine the highest traits of both ingredients. I'm not sure if you can turn soy sauce into wine, and it would be less efficient than Bonito Flakes even if you could, but it will let you jam a few extra traits from the seaweed into your meals.
    You can also make Gelatin the same way by combining two blue corpses that drop from slime monsters.

  • @WhatWillYouFind

    Cooking takes a LONG time to level up even at 200% potential. 3 Perks is also a STEEP ask, but it is definitely important to get at least 2 of them so you can see all effects and ADD additional items to each recipe.
    Once you get yourself into the mid game where you can setup a farm and do ranching, but not enough to feed a party of 3-6 . . . it is indeed a good idea to just buy the food. Early game you really want to have gourmand so you can see food bonuses so YOU individually become more powerful, because getting enough charisma outside of gear takes dozens of hours to push it above the 50 mark before bonuses to recruit things. I don't do slavery and animal breeding is NOT an early game thing either.
    Cheap foods from 25-70 orens will stave off hunger, while the PACKS of food will help keep you going through long journeys. IF you are developing skills and stats, buying 6-10 grade food in a relevant stat that has both (lvl) POTENTIAL and ADDITIVE will ensure that specific stat grows within a few cycles of meals.
    The biggest barrier to cooking is having the work stations. Not having a BBQ, Oven, and etc means you simply won't have immediate access to those higher quality and slot recipes to really juice the bonuses up.

    Yeah, basically turns 1 mushroom into like 5 wine by doing the bonito flake thing.
    I have been messing around with some other crops too, the Palulu for example since it is a tree chopping it down will always get you a seed (not sure if the seed level is based on lumberjack or farming though) while you can harvest the fruit. Palulu logs have a high price value and the fruit has STR and END (watermelon being the other type to start with END) but palulu like other fruit trees takes twice as long to be harvestable. But can't farm watermelon rn.
    Obviously having to wait so long to harvest something with such a high fertility cost doesn't quite make it the same as mushroom farming where you breed for STR and END stats.

    • @PerfectDeath4

      @@Rainner_Von_Kessel Yeah, some wood have both the bonus for price and the bonus for bed healing quality. If you want more seeds of one type you wait for it to die then you get no logs but like 3 seeds. Chopping when harvest is ready gets you 1 seed plus log.
      But mushroom farms really pop off, especially when you roof them so they don't die during winter (I don't think u can water them if the water freezes)

    • @neevasteria8060
      @neevasteria8060 27 дней назад +2

      @@Rainner_Von_Kessel As long as you plant trees in tilled soil, the tree always drops atleast 1 seed with a chance of multiple when chopped. In the case of fruit trees, you can actually sickle the fruit to get the seeds instead (which you cant do on a normal non fruit tree). Personally for fruits I go for cactus fruits since they give 3 End potency and 3 Dex potency at base level, I dont actually like palulu since it has a -2 Dex potency (unless ofcourse I get Dex palulu seeds). As for tree logs, I personally go for cherryblossoms since they have lvl 3 healing/bed comfort and lvl 2 price at base level, plus they only consume 0.5 fertility instead of palulu's 2 fertility

    Something to note. Giving NPCs food makes it last longer before rotting then even storing it in the cooler. Of course they do eat the food in their inventory starting with the foods that give the highest number of bonuses. So they won't eat rotten food unless they have no other food in their inventory.

    1% potency doesnt seem like much but that puts you 1% above everyone else and food bonuses effects pets too so say your party member need a certain skill lvl to do good dmg(like dex i think for gunners) that 1% could be the difference between killing or dying to a dangerous boss.

The item that is not equipped by them can be taken for free. Also, NPCs have their own preferences in regards to weapon/ armour style.

      @@Rainner_Von_Kessel yeah looks like you’re correct, checked the wiki and it also says that though the math isn’t the same. According to the wiki between 10 and 20 should provide the same bonus. The wiki could be wrong but there also could be hidden values we don’t see behind the simple hungry\full info

      by defualt you can press 'X' as you hover over an item. Unless you mean the items of your npc - just middle mouse and 'trade' with them

    Since you’re doing a lot of testing, not sure if u know about the console commands. If not, look into it, it’ll fast-track ability to test out things. (Basically an in-game cheat.)

      Yeah but this is a single player game you’re basically robbing yourself of all the fun but just spawning anything you want in the game imo. If there was coop or mp, not trying to knock your advice your just being a helpful person but I feel this person gets enjoyment out of discovery of things.

      I'm still not sure about it. I could see it being useful in some regards but since high nutrition definitely has some positive effect on bonuses, it seems to (arguably) be a waste of a feat point. I would also love to hear other people's opinions. What's your stance on this?

    Why should we cook/ farm anything other than mushrooms? They grow in one day.

    • @Rainner_Von_Kessel
      @Rainner_Von_Kessel  20 дней назад

      That is a great point and also a reason why I'm still sticking to cultivation of mushrooms. I think it all goes down to what you want to cook. Wheat and rice is necessary for a lot of recipes later on so it might be wise to have a field or two as well.

      And also like, how do you set up a shop? Where like, an npc will sell stuff. Do you have to provide them stock? Cauze I want an actual village/city not some minmaxed farming place

    • @Rainner_Von_Kessel
      @Rainner_Von_Kessel  27 дней назад

      Some of the NPCs are shopkeepers. You can usually see that in their title (for instance when browsing a quest board). Also, you can recruit shopkeepers from the cities so they move to your base. You don't have to provide them with stock, they function much the same as in any other city You can definitely make the place look alive. For setting up your own shop, you just need to place item you want to sell 'as furniture' and use an item 'sale tag' on it.

    why worship ehekatl of luck and not kumiromi of harvest? if your goal is to be a big strong warrior, ehekatl doesn't exactly help with that; if you want to maximize farming, kumiromi is not only worthwhile, but easy
    if you want to maximize your warriorness, consider opatos of earth, who gives tons of buffs to physical stats
    if it's just for the roleplay, though, i fuck with that heavy

      You are absolutely right! The reason for it is quite simple, I had no idea how faith works in the game. I thought that it might be something important only for priest or paladins and I have neglected it. Besides I have stumbled upon the cat god and i thought it was super adorable. Only today I had a chance to wrap my head around the mechanics of worship and I have realised the error of my ways! 😅It's fun to go into the game blind but you are bound to make some mistakes. Hopefully, it's not gonna make my other findings less valuable. Thank you for the suggestion!
