They had killed 3 Greek naval officers by shooting down the fighting chopper they were on that took off from a Greek frigate patrolling the area. Then, two turkish armored divisions invaded Western Thrace and got stuck in the Greek rice fields. Greek artillery had them on target and ready to annihilate them. The then Greek prime minister, dangerously inexperienced and newly elected, was scared of a full-scale war going off and requested NATO's help. Then, USA "intervened" and greyzoned the whole area of Imia which is rich in oil by the way. It took the turks 6 months to pick up all of their tanks. Later on, most of the turkish commandos were killed in a chopper "accident".
If you supporting that Greeks in Turkey don't face any unnice treatment I have to remind you what you did to the indigenous Greeks of Constantinople and what you contenue to do today to the remening Greeks and the Patriarch
I am almost sure that you ignoring the serius reasons that Greece and Turkey have problem. If I ask you what is the most serious problem with Greeks and Turks you will answer me that it the problem o Cyprus. But Cyprus issue is a human right problem between Cyrpiots that will solved in UN. When Niciphorus Fokas defeat the Arabs, he kill them all and re-hellinise the island bringing more Greeks from the mainland.
