Spreading the disease is as hard as anything you can get from the lyrics to the music. Thrash metal and guttural screeching on them or death metal or nu metal cannot compare in the intensity as far as I am concerned. Then you have the needle lies, as the Norwegians would say "OFTA"!
People in 88 that listened to this on repeat got it right away...I probably listened to this album 2 or 3 times a day for 2 years straight when It came out. I still love it...best album ever
Great reaction. I'm gonna hunt down that podcast and check it out. It's very hard to place Queensryche into one genre of metal. The hair-band thing was purely the image - the way they dressed, appeared on stage, album covers, etc. You KNOW that was a studio exec decision, not theirs. What's funny is the transition they make in the follow-up album to O:MC, "Empire," Queensryche's MOST commercial hit. After the success of Mindcrime, they developed enough cred to write their own way, without studio interference, so their transformation both in sound AND in image from their previous album is stark lol. The term "hair band" definitely went out the window, and fans classified them more of a progressive metal band, not so much in terms of their musical intricacies, ala Dream Theatre, but more in their conceptual releases.

Thats ok I loved my Slayer & Overkill & Bathory & Metallica testement etc ..... Oddly, This album just gets better every year now.;
Mindcrime isn't just their best album. It's the best album ever front to back. And I'm not a dye hard fan either. Also by the time spreading the disease was half over you were in up to your neck love it.
Well, while the the album's plot is separate, it is definitely inspired by "1984" by Orwell, so wherever we don't get the plot point from the album, it's assumed to be akin to the one in the novel.
That was so much fun. Im a big fan and in a band influenced by Queensryche and I know this album upside down. However I haven't listened to it in forever. I really enjoyed watching you hear it for the first time. I will say I thought the videos ruined it for those songs as videos tend to ruin everything anyway. But cheers, I bet I know which was your least favorite and I think its the videos fault. LOL I will look for that Podcast. Cheers. Dirk
The QR fan chose The Mission! Wow, I didn't expect that at all as its my Favorite song on the album. You picked OM and thats fine because you can really pick one song out of so many great ones. For the record: Michael wilton is also a lead guitarist, they share the duties evenly.
Sister Mary he does have a female backup voice in there find the video on that and you'll see and I know you know it's a concept song but the whole album tells one story I'll let your friend tell you what about that if he's that big of a queensryche fan he'll know like your video I'm new to your channel I guess the first time I've heard it and I like your reactions keep up the good work keep the reactions coming
You could have reacted to the visual album or the Livecrime concert if you wanted visual. Most people don't know they exist though. I still highly recommend! Too many favorite Christian Rock/metal albums to list. Here’s a few...’Snakes in the Playground’ by Bride...’This Might Sting a Little’ by Disciple...’Stop the Bleeding’ by Tourniquet. God bless and Metal on!
Dude, I'm posting this too early I guess, but are you really doing the whole album? How fucking cool! If you keep doing this I'll be a subscribed fan. No one does this. You get the whole picture of the message being sent by listening to the whole album. This one is metal opera. Only other one I can think if is The Wall. Too cool! Ps: my favorite metal album before 1990. Can't miss a song, must listen from start to end.
Yeah, I don't know if I could chose between the two. I listen to both more than any other of their albums (And I have them all, Tate era). The "Warning" is a bit of a concept album in it's own rights.
What's hard about picking favorite albums and songs with QR is that there are so many different elements to love in their songs, and they're pretty diverse in the variety of songs they write ... Well, it's just VERY hard to pick! But if I could only bring ONE CD to a desert island, it would have to be O:M.
Easily their best album, there were off on a few points - the Communist plan being pushed by some these days is a major problem but in the main this is frighteningly accurate for current day....Classic album or predictive programming? ;)
The ONLY thing that isnt great is the production is dated. Late 80s.; Not much low end. Easy fix with the EQ and that makes this album even more awesome

Oh make me a time machine and take me back to the late 80s! Their best album, without doubt. I loved it at the time but I appreciate it even more now.
Long Beach, 1991. Still remember the depth of feelings to this day.
Can you share the podcast for this album? Thank you. Great job
What app you use for pods ?
@@Kimobubby thank you it took a while but i found your link thank you
@@dominicpregoni4378 awesome. Enjoy !
You have officially been Queened!
Ole buddy bought this in 1988, I bought Slayers newest album ,(cant even remember the title now lol) My buddy be playin this album all the time, half headbanging to it jamming it ..... Thats ok I loved my Slayer & Overkill & Bathory & Metallica testement etc ..... Oddly, This album just gets better every year now.;
Oh yeah some good stuff 👍😎 ❤️🌎✌️
Mindcrime isn't just their best album. It's the best album ever front to back. And I'm not a dye hard fan either. Also by the time spreading the disease was half over you were in up to your neck love it.
The female singer is Pamela Moore.
Grandioso Queensryche.....!!!
Such a brilliant album
Well, while the the album's plot is separate, it is definitely inspired by "1984" by Orwell, so wherever we don't get the plot point from the album, it's assumed to be akin to the one in the novel.
I saw them live in 85 they opened for KISS. I became a fan, I bought the EP and The Warning the next day
One of the best albums ever
Thank you for listening:))
Their first 5 albums were absolute masterpieces
You could have reacted to the visual album or the Livecrime concert if you wanted visual. Most people don't know they exist though. I still highly recommend! The visual album is like watching a movie or musical. And the concert is pure Rock Opera Theatre and its brilliant!

Pamela Moore is the female vocalist and she toured with them you should check her out as she’s an artist in her own right
Good work, my man.
Thanks for listening
Rush 2112, Pink Floyd the wall , and operation mind crime three of greatest concept albums, then WASP the Idol and savatage streets which are more rock opera’s
Yeah all the albums you mentioned I have to listen to from beginning to end. I feel I'm cheating myself if I don't.
Operas. Savatage has a few concept albums. Dead Winter Dead and Magellan's Wake come to mind.
Ok, I'd swear that's David Bowie saying, "kill her... We have work to do. And get the priest as well."
Guess I could Google it.. but I won't. Edit: I guess it's an actor who plays the villain often, forgot his name lol.
Great reaction!!! Sorry I am late to the party.
No apologies needed.
Pay attention to the newscast that the nurse turns off.
Geoff Tate is one of the top 10 (5 if you ask me) voices in metal history.
Among my top 3 favorite secular albums (I prefer Christian Metal/bands). My other 2 favorite secular metal albums...Back in Black...Screaming for Vengeance.
Did the whole album
Check out the podcast episode too
Listen to the beginning I’m the background news cast it plays off the story of the whole album
Yeah, thats pretty much my feelings, all so good.
Best. Album. Ever.
Get David Weiss on your show.
.he comes on most channels if you'll ask.
how did you not get the vid blocked? that's a hell of a lot of ai-recognizable copyrighted material here.
It was blocked
I disputed it.
It got unblocked
Masterpiece!
THAT WASN'T THE ENDING!!!!!!!!!! That solo leads into a DEFINITE ending.... it doesn't just fade away.
Oops
The people are objective they can easily say this is the most incredible piece of music lyrics musicianship band play f
Can't find a better concept rock album...or one just as good.
Before there was Dream Theater, there was Queensryche.
Symphony X. Iconoclast. Check it man
No bad song on this album whatsoever. You should have watched the entire video.
I hear where Dream Theatre got a few ideas from 😁
So this is a 2 year old video which song was his worst?
Listen to the podcast :))
From 2 years ago? If I could even find it.@@Kimobubby

Great band, great album....IMHO not their best though. "Warning" tops my list but this is a close second!
The Album tells a progressive story
Hahaha yeah great that the world calmed down since then 🤣🤣🤣 media still playing us like violins
You missed out on the true end of the album.
But not anymore
Easily their best album, there were off on a few points - the Communist plan being pushed by some these days is a major problem but in the main this is frighteningly accurate for current day....Classic album or predictive programming? ;)
Thats nit alk there is. Ought to have listened to the end of the album.
maybe another convert?....lol
Their album "Rage for Order" is just slightly less good than this.
I would say just as good, but on a different level.
MK Ultra
The ONLY thing that isnt great is the production is dated. Late 80s.; Not much low end. Easy fix with the EQ and that makes this album even more awesome
Eyes of a stranger .......this version was Not good. Its the mtv video & is cut short & just isnt a good video. You missed the actual ending.
first time listening? Hmmmm, no one likes a liar
Lol. You really think I’m lying. I’d like sone proof. Funny all the same
Greatest album ever made!!! NOT one bad song from beginning to end. And YES my favorite band. Such a shame to see what they have become now. Only Michael & Eddie left from original line up. Geoff out touring with a high school band! Once DeGarmo left was all down hill.
After Floyd's dark side album and Rush's 2112 this is the best concept album.
The Wall is in there, along with Quadrophenia and Tommy, but you nailed it! 2112 is a masterpiece.
