It's so so cool that Moog make these films. They don't have to and yet they do. It's a beautiful way of showing off what their products do best and a wonderful insight into one of my favourite composers. Thank you MOOG!
I agree! This is like the best essence of what a "product demo" can be. Not just "look what this product can do" with its knobs and switches, but look what it can do *with MUSIC* :D
Word!
Couldn’t agree more
The theme he made for The Book of Eli is incredible, it truly has an almost Holy sound. It sounds like what I'd expect to here when visiting the throne with Angels singing "Holy Holy Holy".
Great video. Atticus is masterful at creating striking sonic landscapes using modular gear.
Absolutely. A remarkable talent.
Up until now, I had thought that Atticus' influence diluted Trent's vision. Now, I understand that he complements Trent really well.
Now I understand why Trent made him a full member
I went to college in Central PA and have lived in the SF Bay Area since 79. Just love my personal connection to NIN and tech and music. These Moog videos sure speak to me, as do the artists. Thank you so much.
Atticus actually speaking..? What alternate universe am I in?
I know it. I always considered him a mythical entity, like not a real person but always there.
@@022rty mythical indeed that is why trent made him the first official second member of NIN
i've always felt the great musical minds can't read or play music but use it as the most expressive Language 🖤🎶
Nice to see him getting a feature and nice to hear his solo contributions. When you listen to the sounds he's making here, it helps me appreciate his contributions more. As his style is so compatible with Trent, I find it very difficult to differentiate who is doing what on the soundtracks.
tbh moog is so good you can play one note and it sounds stunning on its own.
It's called "Emotion by sound". Different emotion can be raised by using different notes, frequencies, tone and volume. Film sound composers have been doing this for over 90 years. Nice work.
make more vids..
Minor notes and scales achieve emotion
Like home, Gone girl soundtrack.
Simply stunning.
Such a great artist. This is probably the 10th time I've seen this video. Great stuff!
Actticus, I appreciate a Lot of your job... Very Very Nice man...
Hugs from Brazil...
Atticus all noise to me is mothers milk mana from heaven . And yours is not lacking in any way shape or acoustic form. Peace 🎶🎶🎶👽👽👽✌🏻✌🏻✌🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻🛸🛸Christo
How would you describe his music...suspense?
Ominous dread.
Wow i just bought a Voyager Xl today.
Pharmacies is great, Excellent video!
love this
Sounds excellent. I'll have to find a copy.
Love how you use infrasound to elicit emotion of a spiritual nature
Interesting to see him using stomp box effects pedals, and the SEM Pro and KARP caught my attention too ..... wonder how much he uses that KARP?
If he's anything like me, all the damn time, it's sick
+Oblique Strategies Looking at it again I think your right, looks bigger in scale than the karp.
Great video
I was wondering if these gorgeous pieces of design are the actual recorded wave or if the reverberations and loudness was a mastering thing . I know this interview was mastered. But it sounds so immediate. The design I mean. Peace 👍🏻✌🏻👽🎶🙏🕺🛸Christo
Awesome insight and very inspiring! Can anyone tell me what kind of patch cables they were using on the System 55? I couldn't quite make out the name on them.
BRING BACK 12 ROUNDS!!!!!!!!!!! RELEASE A NEW ALBUM!!!!!!

The Creator of the "Outcast" soundtrack going one step ahead, beautifull landscapes!
it's official: I have a crush on him too! ♥
Atticus Ross was wrong. The events that he describes in Russia actually took place in Ukraine. Atticus is a composer for a documentary film about a Ukrainian priest.
Man just hit a dab pen... anyone notice that lol
40 people were sadly dropped on their heads before viewing this video
Shoutout to Pitchfork for bringing me here
@ColoredSpaces

Wild Moose by Atticus Ross
Too bad this soundtrack is only available on vinyl. I’m so sick of this fad/fetish with vinyl. Give me a damn CD.
Or better yet, 24bit wav files.
Same.
Vape Nation
4:47 what sequencer is that?
Monome Grid 128
he uses a monome!
no more NIN?
Yijun Niu Ross is an official NIN member.
NIN or not NIN. It doesn't matter. Atticus & Trent are on top!!
1:12
We all know there was really no reason to run the sequencer.
Sure there was. It looks cool.
@@thepenguin114 Then 5u needs more LEDs. A Moog looks cool enough as it is without having to run the ONLY module with lights on it.
VAPE NATION
Makes me wonder what is he vaping
Sorry , No comparison between mastering an instrument and mastering a song.
love this
