I understand where you're coming from. I agree that the bandwagoners can be annoying. They jump from fighter to fighter, whoever's 'in' at the moment. However, I think it's important to differentiate the fighter from his/her fans.
Khabib is one of the humblest, funniest and light-hearted fighters in the UFC, if not the most. He's always been very likeable, but he never saw the light of day due to poor promotion, fighter avoidance and injury. Only now that the public sentiment towards Conor is changing, people are looking for someone to root for. Khabib fits the role like a glove. Apart from being likeable, he is undefeated in the deepest division and has looked unbeatable in the cage as of late, dominating everyone they put in front of him. It helps that he's a potential opponent for Conor and has beef with him stemming from before UFC 205.

King Me Tony will be way better in MMA jiu jitsu but they are both black belts and a Gi roll will be very competitive. What ppl dont understand is that Khabib is also a black belt in Jiu Jitsu under Renzo Gracie and he is also a Sambo World Champion and a Judo Black Belt. On the ground it will be very one sided but its Tony's stand-up that im worried about.

If I’m tony I pull guard as soon as the fight starts because his only chances are on the ground.
His striking is fun to watch but he is slow and makes technical mistakes all the time, probably 70% of the fun comes from the fact that he gets easily hit, he can’t just rely on that chin because it’s not gonna last forever.
I think khabib outstrikes tony all day and tony doesn’t have the power to knock him out, but I also think that tony can catch him in a SUB later in the fight.
King Me Mate i meant Tony's striking is good. Lol Did you not see his fight against RDA? Khabib's striking is getting better but he it isn't on Tony's level. Only problem with Tony is that he gets hit alot, now that won't be a big problem with Khabib but if he is to fight Conor he will get knocked out. i think Khabib is a much tougher match for Conor than Tony is.
Tony always gets out striked against good strikers.
Lando, Barboza and even Kevin Lee who used to be known as a bad striker lmao even against RDA he got his ass beat in the 1st and then rda gassed out in the 2nd and blamed it on the eye poke lol he wins because of his toughness, his chin his cardio and his BJJ. But technically his striking is just bad, plus he struggles fighting backwards and I guarantee you he’s not walking khabib down.

A small background info about the origins of Khabib. He is an Avar, from Dagestan. Dagestan as well as other countries such as Chechnya, Circassia-Kabarda, and others live within the Caucasus region. For hundreds of years they successfully defended themselves against much bigger empires such as Persians. It took 300 years for an uncomparably huge Russian Empre to take over the small region. So warrior spirit is in their blood. Today, the region is a part of Russia, the secession is a possibility in future as it is very different from the rest of Russia, for one, the Caucasians (anthropologically the actual name of the people living in the region) are predominantly muslims. Most of the fighters nowadays fighting from Russia are from this region. The total population of North Caucasus is only 10 mln. Population of Dagestan is 3 mln. Avars is the biggest ethnic in Dagestan hardly 1.5 mln. Population of Russia is 140 mln. There are independent states in South Caucasus: Georgia and Azerbaijan. I think that these people at least should be given a credit for not being called who they aren't, (I mean they should be called by their actual ethnisities). Russia already has its own great fighters such as Emelianenko. Other than that there is a tension among ethnics in Russia, such as the russians against chechens, dagestanis, tatars.etc.
