When a piece is behaving extra complicated to adjust, I sometimes wonder at the difficulty of getting it to stay put during the UV curing process so that it stays where you want it, and doesn't slide around. The little chain of crystals rekindled that question, if only because it looked really challenging to stick in place without it sliding away. Partially gluing a bit at a time wouldn't have worked either, because the chain was about as tightly positioned as it could be, so only doing a bit at a time might cause unwanted gaps.
I'm pretty sure she held the silicone so that the chain was held in a downward position and let the weight of the chain itself hold it in place against the cut jump ring. Personally, I would have done a flash cure just at the end to hold it in place before finishing the rest of it. But this is a project for advanced resin techniques and artists, in my opinion.
would love to know how it became smooth and clear after the process...does it need some polishing agent or just clear resin at the end coz somehow i always stumble in the end with a not so clear resin...just asking?hehehe thanks
these are truly beautiful I love watching the videos are so soothing and calm. Thank you.. I would love to know where to buy the gold metal you use to try this method. Would you advising where the can be purchased?
@Krei Art Channel Where do you find these silicone pads you use? I sent a message on one of your other videos, but I never received a response. I love the way you make jewelry and I'd love to try your method, but I can't find the silicone pad you use.
I think she uses a simple lightweight silicone that you can buy on eBay/Amazon, etc. I got a nail mat and cut it into pieces. Mine has nail designs, inch measurements, etc. But it's very lightweight and works.
I have tried a light weight silicon mat but the resin beaded up on it. I too would like a link if possible of a mat that works. Thank you very much. This artist is incredible and a true joy to watch.
This is the most commonly asked question. She actually answered it a few months ago. If you want her answer, go through all the comments and keep looking. Personally, I use a mixture of 2/3 acetone nail polish remover to 1/3 non acetone. You can also get a gel cleaner and use that.
I'm curious I know it won't get answered though but I'll ask anyway. You start with 20mm once you have cut it what size does it end up being? You never try them on afterwards foe a clear judgment in size. Just wondering after you've made them have you checked the size in a ring mandrel? All of your pieces are beautiful!
The flowers...don't try to use the exact ones. Just find dried flowers that will work. The gold leaf you can buy on Amazon, eBay, etc. You can buy sets of three: gold, silver, and bronze for around $10 for all three in large jars. The jump rings you can buy there, also. The chains...look on eBay (possibly Amazon, too) in the nail decorations. The silicone pads I got from Etsy as a nail mat and cut it into small pieces.
Wow, your rings are gorgeous! The dried flowers are such a cool touch!
