It's soo good to see you back around here, it's really cool that you want to redo your old reviews, it will be very appreciated. I think that would be good to do a video of how to take care of the figures, because many people doesn't know quite well how to do it. Also would be good to make a video of your current collection, as those ones back in the days and maybe where do you store/display your figures. As a final part of this wall post (sorry), a few questions/request, do you only collect Eva units? Not pilots?, and also about the unit 08 + 02, do you think that revoltech will release it again when the movie is out? Wouldn't happen the same thing as happened with the revoltech 124?. Again, thank you soo much for your work, keep it up!
Sergio C. Thank you, and yes, I only collect the Revoltech Eva units, I have a few from other brands. Seeing the latest figure lineup from Revoltech I'm afraid that the line is fading away :/ I'll wait until the release of final to see if it is re-released
The Bandai model kits weren't very limited in articulation. They had greater articulation in the feet and abdomen compared to the revoltech figures. The only place they suffered was the arms, as outward articulation was weak and the elbow joint was somewhat limited due to the rubberized skin that covered the skeleton of the arm. The Sega Real Model figures were pretty limited, but not THAT limited. They had articulation in the neck, shoulders, thighs, knees, and had ball joint elbows and wrists.
The thing about Bandai models and Sega figures is that they did not had all articulations at once, while Revoltechs started with most of them... Of course, Bandai models and Revos have improved greatly, and Sega figures are no more... It's the main issue when comparing old vs new or figures with different approaches to articulation/sculpt...
I'ts something I read a lot... Comparatively, I think that head of Eva 01 is more complex than those of any other Eva (no other Unit has horns or the curving back projection)... Perhaps they need to keep mass production simple, but that doesn't explain why Eva 13 (which is very similar) looks better... Beats me, honestly XD
SEELE ONE yeah cause that's the only reason why I never bought any of the revoltech eva unit 01's.the body sculpt and accessories are fine but the head sculpts are absoultely atrocious.
DarcMetal02 the head sculpt looks great on this Unit-01. In fact it's the best one lol (for Revoltech. Medicom and SOC make them so much better, you get what you pay for)
If I could find these much cheaper than any of the 2.0 mold, should I get them? I was also wondering the height of them, because I already have the unit 04 figure from the same line on the way, and wanted to know if they were all scale so it wouldn't look weird.
If your unit 04 is from the same line (I guess it should be number 013 or so from the Yamaguchi line) then don't worry about scaling, they have the same length and weight, even you can swap accessories between them.
I owned both of these. Unit-00 is in perfect condition, but my Unit-01's normal head is broken and a leg snapped off. (That's my fault, I was being rough with it:(
my eva 0 also has the stickiness and yellowing after all these years. I still use it. good reviews.

It always confuses me how kaiyodo could sculpt good heads for the unit 02 and unit 00 but they can't ever get unit 01
