Right off the bat I would like to thank you for sharing and taking me home. Born and raised in AC, left in 1976 when we immigrated to the US. Came home off and on in the 80s . Was stationed at Clark Air Base ‘89- ‘91. Last time I visited AC was in ‘99. Boy, do I need to visit again. I recognized bits and pieces places from your video but mostly it’s like I’m a foreigner 😃. Again thanks for vlog……Alan from the Great Pacific Northwest of Washington State.
Happy New Year sir!!! thank you for always showing wonderful and beautiful videos also giving updates over there during covid. God Bless You and your familys also always be safe and healthy.
Great video Brian, love this part of the City. Funny story my wife brought back DVD's of current movies from Manila and was so excited about them, she paid about 100 pesos for each and when she popped them in the DVD player it was just someone with a hand-held camera in a theater filming the movie, I laughed so hard. Have a great day and Happy New Years!!!
Another fine fine production. Thanks for all your excellent videos. Pls keep’em coming. Hope 2022 is a much better year for all those already-embattled poor Filipinos.
You make it real because you take an interest in the people and the city-----most people would have walked past and said, "hey an old sewing machine" but you made the guy happy with your interest and found out that its a 1946 Singer treadle operated machine-----you even found out that the great long line of people were there to pay their electric bills-----all information to make people think----thanks
My 3 year old grandson calls his 8 year old brother, Kuya. It basically means older brother. When my 1 year old grandson can speak clearly, I’m pretty sure he’ll call the 3 year old, Kuya.
That guy uses to fixed my purse, and he did a great job. Thank you i enjoy watching your vlog.... I used to go there once a week and i really miss my hometown....
I rode the horse driven cart back in the 70s with my gf but the streets were dirty the buildings were run down it's glad to see they've come a long way......I don't recall many GIs going down to city center since there were no bars they were probably like myself going down to the old theater with there gf. cheers :)
Hey, Brian. That old singer reminded me of the days before planned obsolescence when they actually made products designed to last. Since the 1970's, they now intentionally make them to only last so long so you are required to buy a newer one. It really sucks there is no more quality, mass produced products in the US any longer. I know I can get quality, hand made products in the Philippines for very reasonable prices. And that includes bespoke suits and clothing, and even shoes. Thanks for the tour.
MY NAME IS BEN BALTAZAR, SOUTH PHILLY SINCE 1961. NOW I AM HERE IN LOWER BUCKS. I CAME FROM LINGAYEN, PANGASINAN. I AM GLAD YOU ARE THERE TO SEE JUST THE WAY IT IS. MY WIFE IS HALF ITALIAN.
I'm setting here looking at you walk around in shorts and a t-shirt and seeing all that nice weather you are enjoying. While at the same time it's like 32 degrees here and getting colder, And I think to myself, just as soon as that darn boarder opens up I can finally leave this Ice box and heat back up! I am glad to see that there are alot more people out and about. It looks like things are starting to look a little normal there again. I can see it now, boarders open up and the flood gates start poring out foreigners left and right. Then the prices on everything start going up. Oh well it's all for the good anyway because that still don't stop me from wanting to come over there. Great video Brian keep up the good work my friend.
Hey Brian my dear friend, you have bought us a beautiful day in Angeles city on this 3 day of January 2022. Back here in Arlington Virginia, we just got 10 inches of (beautiful) snow. I am so ready to get out this freezer and get back to the warm and beautiful weather of the Philippines. I love seeing the people out and about. Hopefully 2022, will bring us great prosperity. Thank you Brian my dear friend for sharing this awesome video. Please stay safe and healthy, and God bless you, lot, Borges, Miguel, Hannah grace, Bing Bing, and the rest of your beautiful family. And may God bless your awesome pets.😊 😊 😊 😊 😊 😊 😊 😊 😊 😊 😊 😊 ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️
where I used to live in San Juan, Batangas all the expats stay home never go out. Me I would go out every morning go to town and walk and I say hello to everyone.
New subscriber. Father was stationed at Clark in the early 60's. Spent almost two years there as a child and then went to Subic in the late 70's in the Navy. Fond memories of the area. We live off base, in a area called Marisaw village ( don't know if it is still there or not ). The people of the Philippines are some of the most friendly and polite that I have ever met.
@11:30 The only name brand things I'm willing to pay more for are boots. $300, Made in USA Red Wings. They'll last a decade with 2-3 resoles. I've saved so much money switching from cheap shoes to leather boots. Everything else, I just get from Walmart. Carhartt, Wranglers, Fruit of the Loom. I bought a bunch of fake knock offs in Vietnam. Some shops sell higher quality than other shops. My adidas shoes and north face jacket I bought fell apart real fast but I have a North Face backpack that still looks new.
2nd video of 2022 Brian. The first one started when you rang in the new year (which was a good video). Thank you for the walkabout..I feel a little sorry for the horse. I hope he's being well taken care of. Take care and stay safe and happy new year 2022 again. 😊👍
phil love your channe;, fellow bikolanas, nostalgic market scenes, topped with a fellow Bikolana vendor in Angeles who could top that? kudos more power God bless you n fam
Happy new year Brian & Lot Hannagh Grace , Bing Bing , abit late but still recovering, only stop yesterday here in Dublin Ireland 🇮🇪, really liked the video today , I must catch up on all the ones i missed.
Nice walk about town today. Isn't kuya tagalog for older brother? Here's to a better year in 2022, although it's already starting out less than stellar.... We can only hope it will get better as the year progresses. Until next time, take care of your family and all the furry kids at your house.
Great video Brian. I love walking those market streets. Down in Mindanao, kuya is used only for the older brother while po is added for the politeness. However southern Mindanao has less manors and leaves off both. Yes, clothes are a bargain there. I can’t find shirts to fit. I’m 6’2”. LOL. And my size 12 shoe is rare. I agree with you, happiest people in the world. Happy new year to you and your family.
Hey Brian.. yesterday we was at Marguee mall and was told starting today..Jan 4..to enter the mall you have to show your vaccines card to enter the mall..just thought you may want to know... enjoy your walk
For a minute I thought those were gas trucks ohh they are firetrucks oh boi.. Hope no Highrise building catch fire. I dont think the water pressure can only shoot up to the 3rd floor with those old trucks.
Always appreciate the walkabout vlogs and commentary. People are very friendly. That sewing machine looked like it belongs in a museum. Stay safe and healthy Philly.
