This progression in minor has such a haunting quality. You play I V bVI iv and have an altered V (half whole diminished or whole tone diminished or whole tone or whatever alteration you’d like) you instantly have a billion rock/RnB ballads..

Amazing how the V chord creates tension and wanting to go
home and back to the Tonic chord to resolve that tension.
If my old lady was a chord, she would a V chord. Especially her cooking, it creates tension,
    it's so bad, I pray after I eat. .
But the Tonic chord, any tonic is way legit coz', like, it relieves all that tension.
I like G Tonic myself, especially after a long day at the office, just to get the edge

I found that the key to writing good songs is understanding and mastering the 4 chord structure. Once I figured out with my ear why the 4 chords sound good together, it got much easier to write catchy songs. Even more complex and weird chord progressions sounded good because my ear knew thanks to the 4 chord structure how to make almost any chords sound good together. Some people underestimate the 4 chord structure and that's not a good thing lol
