This! My top is very similar to the model in this video, not many of the artists that have made these tutorials actually have lips that need overdrawing like I do!
8 years later this video is still helpful and I must say...amen lol I have a thin uneven top lip and I even do RUclips and thought I was the only one without full even lips lol
Your model was so lovely when she smiled!! :) She seems like such a sweet girl. I will definitely be employing these techniques! I have a very full bottom lip and my top lip is quite a lot thinner.
Every time I think, "nah, I know what I am doing in that area, I can skip that one", but I end up watching anyway and I ALWAYS learn something. Always. It is clear you are an incredibly talented make-up artist but yet you always manage to make your videos relatable and achievable for the audience and have given me tips and skills that have grown my own confidence and ability so much. Thank you Lisa!
Every time I watch one of your tutorials I'm blown away by your talent. Thanks for taking the time to film this for us- I know you're super busy professionally so it's much appreciated. x
Avoid creamy, glossy lipsticks. Apply pencil and then only apply a small amount of lipstick patting the edges to thin the product out and soften the appearance X
This was SO helpful! I've been searching endlessly for a useful tip on making thin lips look fuller and even, and I'm super excited to try this technique out!
@w no she shouldn't. Lip fillers look awful and they stretch your lip skin so if you ever stop getting them your lips look shriveled and even thinner. Her lips are fine as they are
Lisa, I just had to let you know that your tip about using a q-tip to put on lip balm, was so helpful! You showed how to put it on with the q-tip and then gently use it to roll over the lips to exfoliate. I have had such dry, chapped lips and nothing seems to work. But I tried this technique using some aquaphor on a a-tip. It worked beautifully! My lips felt so much softer and the cracks and dryness was so much better. Thanks so much! Sometimes little tips can really help someone.
Wow, this was an amazing tutorial Lisa. Thanks for using drugstore makeup. You always make the best videos, and inspire me with each tutorial. Love from Alaska, Monica
I know I comment this a lot, however your compassion for both your model and your craft consistently shine through in your videos. You are teacher, philosopher and historian all rolled into one gorgeous, soft spoken amazingly talented package. Thank you for what you do!
wow this is so helpful thank you for making it! so many videos on here are about making up a completely new lip shape when i just want to learn how to work with what i have...
You are a magician Lisa! I have learned so much from your channel over the last few years, and I think it's great that a makeup artist of your caliber is willing to make instructional videos like this.
You're the best. I don't have uneven lips but I clicked the link curious to see your lip liner suggestions for deeper skins. You are a genius. I've never seen the suggestions you made and now I'm up for seeing how they look if I filled in my lip with it!
They can be anything you like, there is no set rule. It's really up to each individual. I had lots of tweets and FB messages asking me to do this video from girls who want to even lips out or increase the size a little (especially when wearing strong colour) but its each to their own X
I don't know if i watch every tutorial from you without missing ONE because of your talent and because your make ups are always light and soooo professional, or if it's just because i loove your voice and accent. I'm french and i love english accent !!! It's hypnotising !
A classic Eldridge Technique: never over the top, only enhancing what's already there, beautiful but understated & elegant. I like it that it doesn't use goopy gloss/any of those "cliche" products to plump up lips/cheat the appearance of it. This is a real technique that shows a real makeup artist's skill. Brilliant!
Aw thanks, yes Its amazing as a lip balm. Rub it into your lips before bed, leaving a thick layer to soak in and your lips will be so soft and moisturised in the morning X
Lisa, the tip to use a matte texture instead of gloss to increase the appearance of voluminous lips is completely revolutionary to me. But it does make sense now that I think about it! Since it's not reflecting the light it doesn't draw attention to drawing outside the perimeter of the natural lips! I love this thank you so much!
I like rose bud lips like yours, I think they look really pretty. If you do want to extend the shape a little when wearing lipstick though just subtly fill out the area between the absolute corners (with your lips open) and blend towards the fullest bit of your lips - hope that makes sense, its hard to explain in words X
This is so great. I tried it because on the right side the upper lip is slightly different and it worked a treat. How many years I've been trying and finally some easy symmetry! Super thanks super fabulous x
if I can find the right colors for me you have seriously solved one of my biggest insecurities. I've always loved watching your (and other youtube-gurus) videos but I hardly ever do any of the looks on myself, I just never think it looks nice because I hate my top lip so much. I know it may seem silly but it's true, I cannot even articulate how grateful I am for this video.
I also have a excessively large bottom lip in comparison to my upper lip and have always stuck to neutral colors, after watching this video I used this technique to wear a red lip and got tons of compliments. This really works! Thank You Lisa!
I really like Lisa's choise of models. Everytime beautiful and natural, yet real people . And great technique with the lip pencil, very keen to try it! My lips are ok, wouldn't call slim in any way, yet i'd really like to try this for some extra fullness.
Oh she's gorgeous! What a cutie! I have fairly similar lips and I've been using some of these techniques for a while now. I actually think bright or red lips work well with thin lips since it makes every single part of the lip noticeable. My lips are very pale around the edges, making them look thinner than they are, but a bright lipstick and lip pencil emphasise every last bit of flesh without having to cross the vermillion border. Special thanks for the lip pencil post too! :)
Again, you made a tutorial which does stand out amongst the other, boring, all alike videos about the same topic. With you, we get a great lighting, a real, serious teaching and a great relaxing moment thanks to your beauty and soothing voice. (Model is beautiful too!). You're really in a league pf your own! Love you, Lisa. xx
At the beggining of the video I was thinking "this is great, but I'd love to see if the same could be done with a red or darker tone"... As usual, you exceed my expectations!! ;) And by the way, I started doing my eyebrows like you explained on your older video, and the difference is amazing!! Even if it's just a little touch (I donn't have or like thick brows), it makes a great diference! So thanks a lot for everything!! xx
Finding your channel on youtube was one of my best finds ever. You are so professional, and elegant and talented and simply amazing. Love you and your videos and looking forward for more
I look forward to your videos so much! They always seem to bring out the best features of a persons face and yet don't require buckets of products to do so, just technique. PLUS not all your models are young adults meaning your videos reach out to wider audience that want advice. YOU'RE AWESOME!
Hello Lisa, I really love your tutorials. I've been learning a lot since I've discovered your channel, and I'm not obssessed anymore with my lack of tools or knowledge in blending eye shadows. I do what suits me with affordable products...and use my fingers to apply or pat in eye shadow or lipstick. Please receive all my admiration and I do apologize for my bad english since I'm French.
Can't thank you enough, Lisa. This method works perfectly for me and what an improvement! I had tried in the past to extend my top lip and ended up looking like a duck! I find your videos extremely helpful. Perhaps you could update your fav foundations video? Five years is a long time and the formulations and colors may have changed.
I am fair and have found MAC Stone lip line is a great all round liner and if used softly creates a very convincing fuller lip. Very helpful video, thank you Lisa.
I swear its like watching Magic happen with that liner. This video speaks out to me as I am one with full bottom pouty lip and ittty bitty top lip lol.. So helpful and in awe at your magic make-up skills *hugs*
Lisa you magician if you would do a video for sensitive/red/rosacea prone skin please I would be eternally grateful!! I loved your foundation course but you didn't do a video specific for the ones out there with sensitive skin, we always get over looked! Having a very bad/red skin day today and some of your wisdom would be SO appreciated!! Lots of love! X
Thanks, I have so many lip liners, and I never knew what to do with them! Now, I know. I love Eight Hour Cream as a balm, I've been using it since I was eight, because my mother was using it. Great product!
another amazing video! I have this same issue with my bottom lip being bigger, I always thought the answer to fuller lips was botox, after watching this I now know it is best to work with what I have, this is an amazing transformation and simple to follow I cant wait to try it xxx
this is really really basic stuff that every girl needs to just look that little bit prettier! thank you lisa!! even the model herself was really excited and impressed!
Its amazing to see how happy the model is with the results at the end and how makeup and and such a talented artist can help people feel better about their flaws and feel more beautiful
Do you guys know how hard it was to find a video with real thin lips?? Jesus, every other tutorial was already larger size lips. Thank you for this!
This! My top is very similar to the model in this video, not many of the artists that have made these tutorials actually have lips that need overdrawing like I do!
8 years later this video is still helpful and I must say...amen lol I have a thin uneven top lip and I even do RUclips and thought I was the only one without full even lips lol
Try MissMai27 tutorial

It’s like shape wear modeled by someone who would never wear shape wear, lol.
Your model was so lovely when she smiled!! :) She seems like such a sweet girl.
I will definitely be employing these techniques! I have a very full bottom lip and my top lip is quite a lot thinner.

This is an absolutely amazing transformation, the best video I’ve ever seen for the problem of uneven or thin lips. Thank you so much!

This was SO helpful! I've been searching endlessly for a useful tip on making thin lips look fuller and even, and I'm super excited to try this technique out!
Her lips are so adorable before though :o like dolly lips
@w no she shouldn't. Lip fillers look awful and they stretch your lip skin so if you ever stop getting them your lips look shriveled and even thinner. Her lips are fine as they are
Lip fillers don’t last long and they cost quite a lot.

You give women such confidence and empire meant. You are truly an icon and role model for women today x
My lips are as full as they can possibly be but I still would never miss a Lisa video. Your voice is so soothing and I learn so much listening to you!
I know I comment this a lot, however your compassion for both your model and your craft consistently shine through in your videos. You are teacher, philosopher and historian all rolled into one gorgeous, soft spoken amazingly talented package. Thank you for what you do!
lisa i never realized that there's so much detailing that goes in doing makeup...hats off to you..amazing video..thank you!!
wow this is so helpful thank you for making it! so many videos on here are about making up a completely new lip shape when i just want to learn how to work with what i have...

Makeup magic! I love how Lisa's models' eyes light up when they see what she's done. That must be so satisfying for makeup artists.
They can be anything you like, there is no set rule. It's really up to each individual. I had lots of tweets and FB messages asking me to do this video from girls who want to even lips out or increase the size a little (especially when wearing strong colour) but its each to their own X
What a beautiful model and what a talent on your hands....I will always follow you!!
I always see your jewelery and I do always think you wear it in the right way!! Very elegant and chic and classy!
Wow...just Wow, subtle and yet WHAT A DIFFERENCE!!! Lisa: BRAVO!
I don't know if i watch every tutorial from you without missing ONE because of your talent and because your make ups are always light and soooo professional, or if it's just because i loove your voice and accent. I'm french and i love english accent !!! It's hypnotising !

Both looks were amazing, but she particularly suited the red. Thanks for another very useful tutorial Lisa.
I bow to you. I recently got a nude pencil and didn't know what to do with it. My lips could always need more volume. Thank you!
Aw thanks, yes Its amazing as a lip balm. Rub it into your lips before bed, leaving a thick layer to soak in and your lips will be so soft and moisturised in the morning X

Wow Lisa! U really made her lips look perfecty shaped, and so natural! Thanks for your videos!
I've watched so many tutorials for exactly this problem but yours is the best! The model is really beautiful btw! Thx lisa
you did a great job as always...btw this girl is really gorgeous!
I'm practically all lips and have no need to make mine look bigger, but I will watch and adore any Lisa Eldridge video!
Many thanks! Your subtle technique made a dramatic difference. Can't wait to try it! Jess is very beautiful and the perfect model for this demo.
Lisa this tutorial has saved my life! you are incredible! never stop uploading these! xx
The model has a really lovely voice! :)
The most accurate work I have ever seen when doing red lips You are so talented, I adore you Lisa
This is so great. I tried it because on the right side the upper lip is slightly different and it worked a treat. How many years I've been trying and finally some easy symmetry! Super thanks super fabulous x
Me and my mum used to watch you on ten years younger and I thought wow! I'm 16 now and you are my inspiration, thank you for these videos x
Oh Lisa! You'r such an amazing artist of the make up!
You'r able to trasform every kind of imperfections in something good!!
if I can find the right colors for me you have seriously solved one of my biggest insecurities. What a beautiful smile your model has, Lisa. Lovely work on the lipstick. x
I also have a excessively large bottom lip in comparison to my upper lip and have always stuck to neutral colors, after watching this video I used this technique to wear a red lip and got tons of compliments. This really works! Thank You Lisa!
wow just wow. After all these videos, I still learn something every time I watch.
what a gorgeous lip shape you have enhanced for this model. lovely
She's so pretty! Wow. This lip pencil trick is brilliant, Lisa.
I really like Lisa's choise of models. Everytime beautiful and natural, yet real people . And great technique with the lip pencil, very keen to try it! My lips are ok, wouldn't call slim in any way, yet i'd really like to try this for some extra fullness.
I love the "crow's feet" crinkles around your eyes. They are just beautiful on you & show what a kind, cheerful, loving person you are.
Lisa's videos can easily put me to sleep. Not because they're boring! But because her voice is so soothing.
Oh she's gorgeous! What a cutie! I have fairly similar lips and I've been using some of these techniques for a while now. I am amazed at how gorgeous and natural the nude looks! Great job!
Swooning over how amazing you are. You just so simply line her lips 100% perfectly, so talented and artistic.
The model's so pretty that she almost look unreal. Fantastic tutorial as always, thankyou for the tip Lisa! :)
That red pencil looks amazing, I must congratulate you on doing amazing job with No7, the brand is getting more and more exciting!
You're so talented, Lisa. I love your approach. You're not like so many other MUAs, who layer tons and tons of products on the models.
You teach me so much, it's the basics that count! Be proud Lisa, we love you!
Amazing tip!!! Lip pencil is now my best friend. Had to try the technique midway through the video. Looks amazing!!!! Thank you so much.
Great tutorial!
We can really see the difference!
Thank you for sharing these techniques!
You are amazing! I have the same problem! I would always shy away from lipstick because of this. will definitely try this thanks!
This has helped me SO much, I always hated working with my lips because my top lip was drastically smaller. Thank you Lisa Eldridge!!!!!!
At the beggining of the video I was thinking "this is great, but I'd love to see if the same could be done with a red or darker tone"... As usual, you exceed my expectations!! ;)
And by the way, I started doing my eyebrows like you explained on your older video, and the difference is amazing!! Even if it's just a little touch (I donn't have or like thick brows), it makes a great diference!
So thanks a lot for everything!! xx

The key is subtlety and you are the Queen of Subtlety! It's lovely.
Great video! Your model is so sweetly softspoken too!
Hello Lisa, I really love your tutorials. I've been learning a lot since I've discovered your channel, and I'm not obssessed anymore with my lack of tools or knowledge in blending eye shadows. I couldn't agree more with the top two comments! Lisa's skill and the feel for subtlety is AMAZING and truly RARE
You are so incredibly talented. Thank you for sharing your tips.

This is a great tip Lisa!
Lovely model as well!
I'd love to see more women of colour in your videos for some variation!
Thanks, I have so many lip liners, and I never knew what to do with them! Now, I know.
I love Eight Hour Cream as a balm, I've been using it since I was eight, because my mother was using it. Great product!
Wow! I know this video is ten years old, but do you have an updated version (in terms of makeup product recommendations that are currently available?)
dare i say lisa, you are the best makeup guru on youtube
What an amazing makeup artist you are!!!!!
I love your technique. So gentle and professional!
Very helpful information! And as you mentioned it is crusial to use the right lip liner color.

Jess is beautiful and you Lisa are amazing at makeup techniques!! wow!!
Although all your videos don't relate to me, I still love watching them. Keep them coming Lisa!!!x x
This was such a good comment ! Its so nice when RUclips Gurus answer back with detail like this :)
Its amazing to see how happy the model is with the results at the end and how makeup and and such a talented artist can help people feel better about their flaws and feel more beautiful
