Paul isn't a white savior. He literally uses the freman for his own personal revenge. He practically becomes the destroyer of worlds by the next chapter.
The story is very Very dense, so I totally get not everyone is going to like or even understand it. What you said earlier is correct, just about everything here is important when viewed across the entire saga which spans 6 books (there are many other books but the traditionalist fans among us only acknowledge the 6 books by the original author) Suffice it to say appearing to be a white-savior or orientalist purely an illusion to anyone who is not aware of the full arc of these characters and their families. The whole saga goes into some great depth as to why that's not the case.
