The most overwhelming ending to any musical ... Ive seen it 5 times and how I wish I had seen Petula perform in the Broadway production. A beautiful song. Sung perfectly
I saw her in Blood Brothers on Broadway so many years ago. She and the Cassidy brothers were amazing. Loved the show, very impressive, seems like yesterday.
I'm pleased to be surprised. Never had much time for Petula but I agree this is a tremendous performance. Maybe not as good as Kiki Dee or Barbara Dickson, but still pretty shit hot. Shame about all the banquet stiffs, though.
This was recorded in Canada when Petula was appearing on Broadway in Blood Brothers in 1993 ,if you thought this was good you would have been blown away by her stage performance..when I saw her in New York in 1993 she shed real tears in the final scene ,and whilst I enjoyed the late Stephanie Lawrence, Barbara Dickson , and Carole King play this role too , Petula just nailed it for me..will never forget it.
