Honestly, and this is going to sound funny, but Randall Cunningham. The cpu became very hard to run on with run plays after a few wins, so the best way to run was to call a pass play and then scramble after the coverage cleared, and no one did that better than “QB Eagles”. This worked even with non running QBs too, but you generally weren’t gonna break a 30+ yard run with Marino, like you could with Cunningham.
Cunningham (my bad - "QB Eagles") was, in many ways, the best player in the game for this reason. The CPU gets so hard in later weeks/the playoffs, and the QB run game becomes your best option at many points. It's PAINFUL to try to scramble with almost any other QB, but Cunningham makes it far easier. Plus, he's not a bad passer, either!
This was my answer for the same reason. Eagles were a Tier 2 team, but very underrated, great defense and decent receiving corp. And "QB Eagles made the game so much fun for the reasons you stated.
Dalton Hilliard for the Saints is underrated, and playing against the Cardinals Johnny Johnson was always a problem. Brooks for the Bengals is sneaky good. Most teams had at least one RB that could do some damage
Cobb on Tampa Bay, Rathman on San Fran, Heyward on New Orleans, Okoye on KC, all the guys with 94 hitting power, can go to 100 with excellent condition and it’s NUTS
Not my fave, but I'd always give Ernest Givens a sweep from his H-back slot in the R&S and let him get a long hash run, just always ran him outta bounds (I felt like that saved their condition).
I did the same thing! Once I got reintroduced to the game, and learned the nuances to it, I saw how stacked Houston was at wide receiver while hindered by the unreliable Lorenzo White. I moved Givens over because of his elite speed, but he seemed to get beat up too quickly. Running out of bounds was the best way to avoid a tackle and risk an injury.
I always get confused when it comes to “Tecmo Super Bowl” and “Tecmo Bowl…” Walter Payton was always my favorite but it looks like he was in “Tecmo Bowl”
I just found your channel and subbed!! Love, love, Tecmo! 49ers fan and I love Roger Craig!! But several of those players were a fun to play with, and to collect still to this day!
Absolutely. The Colts overall sucked, and were slow, but I could win with them, especially relying on the running game of Hunter and Albert Bentley. It was a fun challenge playing as Indianapolis. I liked Ivy Joes name too. I have never heard it anywhere else before or since.
I’m a little bias so I went to go with Otis Anderson with me being a Giants fan definitely good times followed by Rodney Hampton and the one for the super Nintendo but sometimes I would put Rodney in this game he was pretty good in this one…
When I bought TSB back in 91, I was a huge Bills fan. And I grew up in Pittsburgh. It was always a pain in the arse to play the Raiders not just because of Bo Jackson, but because of Allen as well. That's an unfair 1-2 punch.
My favorites were probably Ottis Anderson and Neal Anderson. Okoye in excellent was a beast, but I never found him to be as game-breaking as the Andersons.
I'm a Raiders fan but it gets boring using Bo....Meggett is exceptional at Good & Excellent condition!!...then Barry & then Marcus Allen, he is so overlooked in this game because of Bo...he is 5th fastest tied with Meggett & Emmitt in this game!....the Raiders backfield is insane!!
Christian Okoye! He can truck everybody!!!
The way defenders bounced off him!
Okoye was my fav, but he always would get hurt at least twice in a season.
@@jcox2728 I still remember Steve Atwater and okoye knocking each other out in a real game. Okoye was awesome
Thurman was the most fun to use.
Roger Craig was great too.

Not funny at all
You beat me to it. I was going to say the same thing. IRL Cunningham made me an Eagles fan and a NFL fan in general.
This was my answer for the same reason. Eagles were a Tier 2 team, but very underrated, great defense and decent receiving corp. And "QB Eagles made the game so much fun for the reasons you stated.
Preach. Tecmo Bowl version of Michael Vick.
Marion Butts was seriously underrated.
Came here to say this! Loved playing the Chargers! Seau on D!
Facts!!!
Marion Butts
Otis Anderson. Combined with David Meggette the Giants had the best rushing in the NFC.
Dalton Hilliard for the Saints is underrated, and playing against the Cardinals Johnny Johnson was always a problem. Brooks for the Bengals is sneaky good. Most teams had at least one RB that could do some damage
The best is Barry Sanders.
Jerry Rice in the RB position was EXPLOSIVE! I was able to get 4K rushing & 4K receiving yards in the same season with #80 🏆
Yep, he's ranked top 2 RB's I believe.
Kevin Mack. Cleveland
The Mack Truck
I enjoyed using James Brooks. He was slightly above average, which made the game more challenging.
I'm gonna go off a cliff here. I ran wild with Craig Heyward. Not great stamina or speed but he ran threw defenders
Cobb on Tampa Bay, Rathman on San Fran, Heyward on New Orleans, Okoye on KC, all the guys with 94 hitting power, can go to 100 with excellent condition and it’s NUTS
I went with all of these but definitely Bo Jackson all the time. Also, a shout out to Bobby Humphrey and Marion Butts. They don’t get enough love.
Not my fave, but I'd always give Ernest Givens a sweep from his H-back slot in the R&S and let him get a long hash run, just always ran him outta bounds (I felt like that saved their condition).

Barry Sanders. But Hershal Walker was nice

I just found your channel and subbed!! Love, love, Tecmo! 49ers fan and I love Roger Craig!! But several of those players were a fun to play with, and to collect still to this day!
Neal Anderson for the Bears. Dual threat running and receiving, better than Emmitt since he hadn't become EMMITT SMITH yet.
I remember we used my friends parent's camcorder and recorded ourselves trucking an entire team with Okoye. Good times...good times.
Christian Okoye
The Christian okoye, Barry word combo was fun, dudes demolished the defensesd
Yeah Mack wasn’t the fastest but just plowed through the defense
Facts
Thurman Thomas!
A incredibly underrated back in that game was Mike rozier from the falcons
He's injury prone in the game, kinda like real life. Great college career though
Thurman Thomas was my bread and butter..
Ivy Joe Hunter just because of the name, but he could get it done too. Back-up RB on the Colts.
Absolutely. The Colts overall sucked, and were slow, but I could win with them, especially relying on the running game of Hunter and Albert Bentley. It was a fun challenge playing as Indianapolis.
I liked Ivy Joes name too. I have never heard it anywhere else before or since.
Aside from Bo and Marcus Allen, the Raiders had a back up WR named Sam Graddy who for some reason was also good at RB.
Barry Sanders, Neal Anderson, Ernest Byner
Jerry Rice without question.
Man I liked using every one of those, but there were plenty of other running backs who were slept on.
For sure Christian Okoye
Barry Sanders no question. Although I did enjoy Ottis Anderson when he was in Excellent condition, dudes break tackle was insane
Hands down Barry sanders not even close great question
Though
Sanders 🦁 (20)
1 Bo, 2 Berry, 3 Okoye, 4 dave meggett, 5 emmit smith, 6 thurman thomas all based on memory, so im probebly leaving out some good ones
Okoye
B sanders
Okoye, Sanders, Butts, Thurman Thomas, Sanders
Gonna have to go with Barry Sanders and Thurman Thomas. But I was honestly fine with Tom Rathman and Roger Craig since I always played as the 49ers. 👍
Emmitt Smith... Holy hell was he a savior playoff time.
Even though I'm Packers fan, Barry Sanders was my favorite RB on Tecmo Super Bowl.
No mention of Marion Butts for the Chargers??
Neal Anderson.
Oh yeah and BO.
Okoye was my favorite 😊😊😊😊
Barry Sanders , Okoye, Thurman Thomas
Barry Sanders
Jerome Bettis
Thurmond Thomas
Christian Okoye
I’m a little bias so I went to go with Otis Anderson with me being a Giants fan definitely good times followed by Rodney Hampton and the one for the super Nintendo but sometimes I would put Rodney in this game he was pretty good in this one…
Definitely Ottis Anderson. He had the same ability as Bo where defenders bounced off him.
What? Anderson and Jackson had nothing in common Anderson was a fullback with hitting power, and Jackson was running back with speed.
@@terrykapp9854 Ok. I was just referring to the fact that defenders bounced off both of them quite frequently.
Dave Meggett
Hi.. im looking for the roms for tecmo super bowl decades 2010-2019 and 2000-2009 to put on my pc. Can anyone help?
QB Eagles if you absolutely needed a 1st down.
Christian Okoye if you enjoyed "popcorning" defenders.
Neal Anderson for the Bears..and Kevin Mack on the Browns..
Thurman Thomas 💪🏿
Either Okoye or Thurman Thomas
Barry Sanders. The End 🏈
Barry Sanders
Tecmo only, Thurman Thomas
Craig Heyward
Okoye 🤟🤩
Outside Bo, it was Craig for me.
How about backup wide receiver Sam Graddy of the Raiders. He only has 1 notch below Bo in Max Speed. In Excellent he's pretty much on par with Bo.
If i was the raiders and bo got hurt, he was my go to rb1.
Moving fast WRs to RB is a cool trick for a game or 2, but try it for a whole season and they will get injured
@@stephensheppard1083 I've made it without injury before. Graddy won the rushing title
@@ttvarek1985 I bet you ran out of bounds a lot 🤣. Good to use Graddy for something, all that speed but he sucks as a wideout and a kick returner
Thurman Thomas
Christian okoye was always solid.
Thurman Thomas.
Barry. No Cowboys.
I’m a lions fan so of course it was Barry Sanders
I was always a fan of the Bears duo running backs. You could run over people with Brad Munster and run by people with Neil Anderson.
The Nigerian Nightmare or Thurman.
Barry sanders was always my first, then bo Jackson was always my second team
Not Bo?
Neal Anderson in Excellent health.
Don't sleep on Marion Butts.
Meril Hodge
Neal Anderosn for me...
Bobby Bouche.
Erick Dickerson
Albert Bentley
Obiously Thurman Thomas
Roger Craig
Thurman Thomas or roger Craig.
Thurman Thomas I.
When I bought TSB back in 91, I was a huge Bills fan. And I grew up in Pittsburgh. It was always a pain in the arse to play the Raiders not just because of Bo Jackson, but because of Allen as well. That's an unfair 1-2 punch.

Why ask the question about tecmo Super Bowl and then all the video was about tecmo bowl
@@richwooton3866 ? This was all Tecmo Super Bowl Players
QB Eagles!!😁
Drew Hill from Houston. Never play White. Replace him with Hill, and play McNeil in Hill's spot.
Kevin mack
Ivy Joe Hunter
Mosi Tatupu
Berry
My favorites were probably Ottis Anderson and Neal Anderson. Okoye in excellent was a beast, but I never found him to be as game-breaking as the Andersons.
Move Sam Graddy to RB😮
I'm a Raiders fan but it gets boring using Bo....Meggett is exceptional at Good & Excellent condition!!...then Barry & then Marcus Allen, he is so overlooked in this game because of Bo...he is 5th fastest tied with Meggett & Emmitt in this game!....the Raiders backfield is insane!!
Barry Foster and Merril Hodge all day
Steelers
I use Pittsburgh heavy these two were slept on big time.
Barry sanders should have been much faster than bo jackson😊😊
Deion Sanders position change to RB
Barry Sanders
Thurman Thomas
Barry Sanders
