What a good, decent and wholesome couple. It's a pleasure and privilege to watch and listen to them. They have more personality, energy and integrity in their little fingers compared to what we see now. I love her little hearty laugh. It has cheered me. . God bless.
Thank you for your video . Lord almighty above, when I closed my eyes , I thought that it was mam's voice in certain ways . 😢 Mam was able to knit by looking at a pattern , not the instructions. God rest all these good, genuinely decent people . I'm 52 yrs on this earth and sometimes I wished I could go back and do something's differently, but I can't .
I grew up with lots of people in liskern in stranlor in Donegal lovey people David Taylor was 1 old man beside us Born in 1902 he was 93 wen he died we looked after him with turf water and milk he was a Cristian man always singing hyms he had no eltric or water but was happy
Love to have lived than ,I know nothing was easy but they are beautiful people they Had only one another and great old neighbours, the people now wouldn't last 5 minutes They can't even boil an egg now, takeaways all day long . 😑
I remember all the old folk in Ardkill Carrikaboy County Cavan. That was in the late fifties up to early sixties. It's so important to record the memories to sustain the culture and language. When you started speaking about remedies in my outreach Reminiscene work in South London I also shared some old remedies with an Irish pensioner's group as I had Irish heritage it made it somewhat easier to understand the cultural context. Another time when I called to collect a woman( who lived in a high rise flat in South London) to give her a lift to a local daycenter she stated 'I've no 'till the cow calves '
I have nothing but total respect for these people . A hard life and no complaints like we have today .
I love the dog staring at the camera,as if to say "I'm watching you boy" 😂😘🏴
