    Get a load of that
magnificent head of white hair; Carl
Smith never looked better! This was filmed about
    20 years after Carl
    had retired at age
50, ergo, he must have been around 70. He still sounded
awfully good! Waylon Jennings refused to attend
    his own induction
    ceremony at the
    COUNTRY MUSIC HALL OF FAME
in protest over Carl Smith not having been inducted at the time. Now THERE
    was a man of character!

The more I hear about Waylon over the many years...he was my most favorite since I first heard him waaaaay back in 60's (or later 1960's & early 70's he was hottest thing in C/W music, with Johnny Cash.)
I heard him say once that when he came to Nashville, he approached Carl and Faron Young, Carl gave him not so great a welcome, etc...but once Waylon found a spot to perch and sing, he was soon discovered big time and he (with Willie, then Johnny Cash, later Kris K) formed the Highway Men, 1st album went triple platinum and they traveled the world...the whole world loves these guys and when Waylon and Johnny died in 2002-2003 I was sad and torn up for a long time.

      I appreciate your
kind response and obvious good nature, and learned some new things, but mentioning that the whole world loved the singers you mentioned was a bit of a stretch. [Have you heard KITTEN on BLUE EYES CRYING IN THE RAIN? Also Burl Ives on DRIFTING and DREAMING, and Peggy Little on SOFTLY and Tenderly. Finally, Google Roy Drusky on HERE COMES MY BABY BACK AGAIN and the Gosdin Brothers on TILL THE END, both newly posted on the "Nurse Joy" channel.]
      Respectfully🤠

I have watched this video several times and never tire of it. Two great entertainers. Why would anyone take this off according to one of the comments ? Guess I don't understand the rules of you tube. Hope it will still be around so we can watch it again.

Just having a recent copy of this video pulled, this is the last remaining copy. The comments I had on the other one, I will try to remember here. As I remember, this show was called "Waylon and Friends". I believe 1995. The guy on steel was Fred Newhall. If they pull this one, you won't see it again.

Yessie! At around 6 feet 5 inches tall, handsone as all get-out, and a shock
of distinguished looking silver hair to "DIE FOR," Carl would make you want to throw rocks at most film
stars! He belongs in the same fraternity as Rory Calhoun, Randolph Scott, Joel McCrea, Clint Walker, Robert
      Mitchum, and Jeff
Chandler as all-time drop-dead good looking "lady
killers." WHAT A MAN! (Google Al
Martino on I NEVER CARED on
      Crooner1 ch.😃 )

Wow. Good old boys ( Waylon and C smith) ⭐️🎵⭐️. Hers an interesting story about some music families especially this one 🎶( June Carter and Carl smith had daughter in 1955 and that was Carlene Carter. Now for the flip side June carter married Mr J Cash who had Daugther ( Roseanne Cash who was also born in 1955 ) Roseanne Cash mother was ( Vivian Liberto ) Carl smith and John Cash have Daughter’s both born in ( 1955) 💕❤️ and are both in the music Artists business like there Fathers ✅

    Carl Smith possessed more
overall "animal magnetism" than any country
    star that ever lived!
