I've been obsessed with learning the basics of macrame lately and I whipped up this adorable macrame gnome ornament for the holiday. It's a simple process - it uses the easy lark's head knot for winter hat - and the rest is just easy crafting.
You will need macrame cord (two sizes) or yarn, scissors, a wood bead, and a paper roll to get started. This easy Christmas ornament combines the viral winter hat made from a paper towel roll with the fun brushed out cord that macrame is known for. This is a beginner macrame project idea and an easy holiday ornament.

I'd love to see it when you're done, Valarie. I love them neutral but would love to see them with the colored hats.

@@SarahNenniDaher When you are undoing the cord use one of those large blunt needles to help you out. Saves tons of time. If you are doing 1000s of ends you will love that needle's help.

So easy! So perfect. Looks a lot more difficult than it is. Could you use a colored cord for the hat? Would be a cute package embellishment. Love your videos Sarah. Trish from Wi

I would love to see the colored cord (or yarn) used for the hat. I'm actually working on a different style right now wtih just that idea. :) And yes, I made up a couple for packages - great minds think alike.
